"Whoa, dude. That's the donation box." Mike said surprised as he watched Will place his d&d box into a box. Will looked over and smiled slightly,
"I know.I'll just use yours when I come back. I mean, if we still wanna play." Will hesitantly said. He knew over the past year they've started playing less and less and didn't think Mike would be too bothered.
"Yeah, but what if you want to joinanother party?" Mike replied slightly insecure. He recently began having thoughts about Will meeting someone new...a new best friend and that thought scared Mike.
"Not possible." Will immediately replied giving Mike a reassuring smile which only caused Mike's face to brighten. They stood there smiling and chuckling to each other and after a few minutes of this Mike looked away and around the room.
"Will...?" Mike whispered causing his face to soften.
"Is everything okay?" Will asked moving closer to Mike. Mike was fidgeting with his fingers occasionally digging his nails into his hand.
"Mike?" Will repeated snapping Mike back into reality.
"I need to tell you something," He sighed gesturing Will to the floor and they both sat down, Will's eyes not leaving Mikes.
"What is it?" Will softly asked.
"I'm just gonna miss you." He whispered looking down finally breaking eye contact.
"I know, and I'll miss you too." Will laughed giving Mike a sad smile.
"No Will...you don't get it." Mike shook his head and Will only furrowed his eyebrows, what was there not to get?
"Then explain it." Will hesitantly reached over to Mike softly placing his hand on his thigh and this only caused Mike to look over.
"I..." Mike stopped himself. He wanted to say it but he couldn't, he was scared. What would Will think of him.
"Mike you don't have to-" Will almost immediately got cut off.
"I like you Will and...and I don't want you to go." Mike blurted out. Will sat there, shocked. He never thought Mike would ever feel the same way and Mike had no idea how long Will had been waiting for this moment.
"You do..?" Will whispered causing Mike to nod,
"As in...you like like me?" Will repeated still in shock.
"Yes Will." Mike replied, he couldn't work out what this reaction meant. He could see Will was shocked but he did not expect what Will said next.
"I like you too Mike." This time it was Will's time to whisper. Mike's head shot up and he was in disbelief.
"What?" It was Mike's turn to question Will. He didn't believe it.
"I've liked you since we were kids Mike." Will laughed going red.
"Really?" A smile formed on Mike's face.
"Really." Mike couldn't pull his eyes off of Will's lips.
"Can I kiss you?" Mike said quietly.
"Yes." Will laughed smiling up at Mike. Mike slowly moved closer, he moved his hands to either side of Wills face and slowly attached their lips. The kiss was short but filled with so much emotion. Once the two boys pulled away they couldn't help but giggle to each other. They were both flustered but their moment soon got interrupted.
"Will? Mike? Are you two-" Jonathan stopped as he spotted them, "Come on guys, we need to get going - everyone's outside." The boys both nodded and stood up giving each other a small reassuring smile and they left with Jonathan.
Once they got outside they almost ran to everyone else. They hugged all their friends individually and as they reached each other they stopped for a second and then Mike pulled Will in for a hug. The hug lasted a few seconds, longer than any of the others.
"I'm gonna miss you so much." Will whispered to Mike tearing up.
"Please keep your walkie on." Mike let out a small laugh hugging Will tighter.
"I'll miss you too Will."
Will's eyes flooded with tears as him and Jonathan pulled onto the road. Him and Mike were finally honest with each other...but was it too late?
Mike felt the same. He felt like he only just got Will and he already had to let him go. Mike went home with tears dripping down his eyes. His mom immediately pulled him into a hug but Mike was somewhat heartbroken. The guy he was falling in love with was gone and who knows when they'd next see each other.
A/N: Okay kinda sad but also kinda cuteee
