Finn's pov
I had an early start and I needed my coffee. I worked on the weekends and as much as I hated waking up at 7am, I needed the money. Every morning on the walk to work I'd stop by at the local coffee shop. I needed the coffee to keep me awake. As I walked in, the shop was quiet; it always was this early and I loved it. As I reached the counter the barista was facing away - he must've not heard the bell on the door go. I softly cleared my throat and watched as he turned to face me. I had been going to this café every weekend for almost two months and I have never seen him here before...he must be new. I felt myself freeze. There was something about him. Maybe it was his soft and silky brown hair that was so fluffy I just wanted to touch. Or maybe it was his smooth, clear pale skin that I couldn't help want to caress. Or... it could be his lips. Maybe those plump yet slightly chapped pink lips that I couldn't tare my eyes away from were that something. Either way...he was gorgeous. I forced myself to look back up at his golden brown eyes and didn't even notice the smile forming on my face.
"Morning..." I whispered immediately wanting to slap myself at the random greeting. He didn't seem bothered...instead his lips began to upturn into a small smile much like mine.
"What can I do for you today?" He asked scanning my face. That voice...slightly raspy yet tender but still somehow sexy. I would call it music it to my ears but that would be an understatement...it was something angelic.
"Can I get an espresso?" I asked, "Please." I added on wanting to be polite for him. He nodded, grinning ever so slightly. His gaze lingered on me for 3 seconds before he turned and made his way to the coffee machine. His gaze may have left me but no matter how hard I tried mine couldn't.
"Do you want that to go?" He turned his head lightly catching my stare. I finally looked away, looking down a blush forming on my face and once I looked back up I noticed the blush was on his face too.
"No thank you..." I timidly whispered speaking before thinking. I never usually stay, I drink it on the remainder of the walk but today...today I didn't want to leave. He nodded his head and turned back away and after a couple more seconds he returned to the front counter with a cup of coffee in his hand.
He looked me up and down as he fidgeted in his stand. His face slightly fell as he reached his hand over...almost like he didn't want this moment to end. My face was an exact replica. I copied and reached my hand to collect the coffee. My hand gently landed on top of his. My lips lifted slightly and I watched him softly bite his. Our eyes met once again.
"Sorry." We both softly laughed simultaneously. Our synchronization only caused us to laugh even more. He pulled his hand away once he knew my grip was on the cup.
"Thank you." I muttered using my other hand to give him the money.
"Have a good day..." He paused almost asking for my name.
"Finn," I informed my voice turning hoarse causing me to awkwardly clear my throat.
"Noah." He grinned. I took one final look at Noah. I couldn't help but continuously take in all his features.
I placed myself at a table that had a perfect view of the counter. As I drank my coffee I couldn't help but glance over at him. He'd occasionally glance over too and each time our eyes met butterflies would explode throughout my stomach. A few more customers had began entering the café and I soon felt like it was time for me to leave. I hesitantly stood up, my eyes on Noah. The cup was now empty so I trailed back over to the counter to place it in the bin. Noah's eyes followed me the entire time. I couldn't help but smile to myself. I turned to walk to the door but a voice called my name.
"Wait Finn!?" His voice. Not as raspy anymore but still slightly gravelly.
"Yes Noah?" I questioned in return practically spinning around.
"Can..." He hesitated and almost stopped himself but didn't.
"Can I have your number...?" He fearfully asked softer and quieter than previously. I grinned, a really big grin in fact.
"Of course!" I laughed pulling out my phone watching him do the same.
"Thank you." He bit his lip once again once he'd finished typing the numbers into his phone. We stood there for a second, in complete silence. I couldn't take my eyes off him and by the looks of it, neither could he.
"I'll see you around." I smirked and he nodded muttering a small 'goodbye' as he watched me exit the coffee shop.
I don't know what happened, I don't know who he really was but...I liked him. I really really liked him.
