"Come on Will you can't leave now it's raining." Mike called after Will. He didn't understand why Will was so upset. However Will was heartbroken, all he wanted was to play d&d with his friends - just like old times but no, he couldn't have that. Will ignored Mike's calls.
"Listen I said I was sorry, alright?" Mike apologized once again, "It's a cool campaign, it's really cool. We're just.. not in the mood right now." Mike attempted to reassure him but it didn't work. Will felt the rage building up.
"Yeah Mike, that's the problem you guys are never in the mood anymore. You're ruining our party!" Mike was taken back by this outburst, Will never shouts. Will felt bad but he was mad, hurt. Mike just couldn't see the hurt instead all he saw was him getting the blame.
"That's not true!" He immediately disagreed. Will couldn't understand why Mike didn't get it.
"Really? Where's Dustin right now? See. You don't know, you don't even care, and obviously he doesn't either and I don't blame him." Mike knew he cared about Will but Will didn't believe that anymore and that's what hurt the most. He couldn't hold it in anymore,
"You're destroying everything and for what? So you could swap spit with some stupid girl?" This was the trigger, Mike was now angry too. What was Will's problem? But the problem was jealousy...love.
"El's not stupid!" Mike shouted causing Will's stomach to drop, "It's not my fault you don't like girls!" Will was hurt and he finally had enough - he needed Mike to understand. Mike watched as Will's bike hit the ground and Mike was ready to apologize as he saw the tears begin to fall from Will's eyes but Will spoke first.
"Of course it's your fault! Are you kidding me???" Will shouted and Mike's face softened as he stuttered,
"...Wait, what?"
"Did you ever think that maybe the reason I've never had a girlfriend is because I didn't want one?!" Mike felt bad,
"Will I-"
"I've tried to, TRUST me! But for some ridiculous reason the only person I've been able to think about for the past six years is YOU!!" Will took a breath before continuing while Mike was too stunned to speak.
"So yeah Mike, I'm sorry if I haven't been 'crush crazy' like the rest of you, but it's hell of a lot harder when our crush is your taken, straight, best fucking friend! UGH! You make me crazy sometimes Mike, you make me feel fucking crazy!" Realization immediately hit Will as he looked up at Mike's shocked face.
"I...I'm sorry." Will apologized appalled at his confession.
"Will-" Mike tried to speak but Will cut him off,
"I should go." Will said turning to pick the bike back up,
"Hey - hold on!" Mike called softly, and before Will could go anywhere Mike grabbed his arm,
"Just wait!" Will turned, tears pouring from his face,
"Can you give me a chance to say something??" Mike asked softly.
"What could you possibly say that could-" Will wasn't ready to get rejected but instead Mike placed his hand on Will's jaw/cheek and moved Will's face so he was looking up at him. Will was confused, his heart was racing but this didn't stop Mike from slamming his lips onto Will's. Will immediately kissed back causing Mike to place his hand on the other side of Will's face while Will reached up and placed his hands on Mike's waist.
Neither of them had realized how long the other had been waiting for this moment.
