(Wills POV)
"Will hurry up we'll be late!" I hear El scream from the kitchen.
"I'm coming!" I scream back.
I've been waiting for this day for a year, I finally get to see him. I get to see my best friend, Mike Wheeler. I'm about to walk out the door when I remember something, I have to get the painting. I run back to my room and quickly grab it.

Finally after what felt like years of waiting the gates open I can't believe it he's finally here. Straight to El but I guess I expected it they are dating after all and we, we are just friends, best friends (I hope) nothing more nothing less oh how i wish it could be more but I can't happen it won't happen he's not like me he's not different. I manage to catch his eye and I go in for a hug but he doesn't hug me back just pats me on the back. Did something happen?

"Will, have fun okay." Johnathan calls out after me.
"Okay." I respond not really meaning it.
I run to catch up to the others but they act like I'm not even there.
"Oh I forgot you need socks." El says after noticing Mike barefoot.
"Oh, shit."
They- they sell them at the counter" I stutter "How'd you forget about the socks I mean since you come here all the time." I question El
"I- I don't know I just forgot."
"Right. Why do you keep lying?"
"What?" I know she heard me
"Why do you keep lying to Mike?" I repeat myself
"I'm not lying." El says unconvincingly
"Oh, your friends with Angela and Stacey and you come to party's here!?"
"I- I have been to a party here"
"For mom's work that's not what you implied. I- I just don't think Mike will like that you're lying to him, and he doesn't deserve that and when he finds out he's going to be mad."
"Okay so I asked for vomit green and i got me vomit green isn't that awesome." Mike interrupts.
I can't help but smirk at his attempt at being funny, but at the same time I also feel a bit bad for El she's been through a lot here and maybe this was just her coping method trying to create an illusion of a perfect life.

"Milkshakes? Yum!"
Angela! What was she doing here?
"Come on friend let's skate shall we?"
"I- I wanted to finish my milkshake."
"I'll hold on to that."
I stand up I'm about to go after her but I can't I know I should but I just can't and I don't know why.
Mike must have heard me muttering because he asks "what?" So I spill I tell him about the bullying and the incident yesterday where she tried to use her powers but she couldn't, the grades and finally Angela and her gang.

Next thing I know everyone is circling around El taunting her, teasing her and then she is on the ground with her milkshake spilt all over her. El exists the rink crying and leaves not talking to Mike or I. We both share a glance and go off to look for her. The bathroom, front desk, outside nothing she's nowhere.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" We both look in the direction of the scream.
"Wh- wh- what did you do." Mike asks Eleven while looking at Angela who is wailing as blood pours out from just above her nose.
"WHAT DID YOU DO!" Mike repeats himself.
"I- I don't know." El responds.

"She didn't look okay." Mike says at the dinner table.
El and I exchange a look just before she storms out of dinner.
Sometimes Mike doesn't think things through.
I hesitate knocking on Els door.
"El, El are you in there please let me in I'm your brother please El. El?"
I creak open the door more (she always leaves her door open 3 inches ever since hops death)
"El?" I say as I slowly creep toward her.
"El? El? El!" Why isn't she responding?
"El!" Finally she moves.
"Will? Since when did you get here?"
"Are you okay?" I ask in a worried tone.
"Yeah, yeah just- just flashbacks."
"Okay, you had me very worried I though you had died or something. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that it's not your fault she deserved it and I'm sorry for Mike he was being a douche."
"Thanks Will I- I I'll be fine just please leave and leave the door open 3 inches please."
"No problem" I say on my way out.
I just can't get that look on her face out of my head when she wasn't responding it was almost like she had no pupils just the whites of her eyes.
