Chapter 17

(Wills POV)

I swear that my house wasn't this far away last time i ran holy crap i feel like i'm dying. 

Finally after what feels like forever I run onto my street.

"Hey El!" I say as i run inside not acknowledging anyone else.

"Hey Will, who are you looking for?"

"Dustin, Lucas and Mike." I say as i run in and out of my room i stop to look at El after not finding them in my room. "Do you know where they are?"

"No but last i heard they were going into town and they were looking for you."

"Oh."

"Well since it's just us can you follow me?"

"Yeah sure." I say as i follow her to her room. "What is is, is it something about school?"

"No. It's about what Vecna said about you needing to learn something or find something."

"Well what do i need to learn or find?"

"Well it's a long story but i think you need to know. So basically i was falling behind in the lab while everyone else was finding things, moving marbles or lighting up bulbs i was struggling to even redirect a token to the right number then one day Vecna or 001 came up to me and told me that i needed to find a memory that made me sad or mad or made me feel a lot of emotion. Then later  we had a competition on who was the strongest 002 was winning by a lot and i went last. I was scared because i knew that i couldn't win but then i tried what 001 told me and i beat him. Later on that day they were picking on me and i couldn't fight back. Fast forward a bit me and 001 were in the basement and he told me to run but i didn't want to go alone so i took a device out of his neck but then he went upstairs and when i got up there so many people were dead and then i went to the rainbow room and all the numbers were dead. He asked me to join him but i said no and then he tried to kill me and i was almost dead my wrists were starting to turn but then i remembered what he said so i did then i banished him to the upside down."

"Wow El i though the lab was bad before but this might be even worse."

I feel so bad for her and knowing that this probably all happend before she was 11.

"Yeah it sucked but i can't change the past. Anyway the reason i told you that was because i think that's what you have to find i think you have powers, like me."

What that can't be right i mean i'm 15 surely i would've found that out by now and wouldn't i have gotten put in the lab like El? I don't think my mom was in that experiment that Terry was in she would've told me, Johnathan would've told me someone would've told me. There must've been something abnormal like whenever i would be overwhelmed with emotions the lights would've flicked or something like that but i don't think there ever was.

"B-but how?"

"Well i don't know for sure either you being i the upside down so long effected you in some way or something else."

"But mom wasn't in that program that Terry was in."

"Well i doubt that all of the people would've been recorded."

"True it was a government thing wasn't it?"

"Yes mothers were given a drug. However 001/Vecnas parents weren't they developed around the time he moved to Hawkins around the age of 11-12 the same age you were when you were trapped in the upside down."

"So his powers occurred naturally?"

"Yes as far as we know."

So there could be other people just living perfectly normal lives and they don't know that they have powers that could change the entire way they live and everyone around them lives. This is absolutely crazy to think about. Maybe if i do have them i could fight alongside El but if i do i could've gone my whole life without knowing.
