Chapter 24

(Mikes POV)

41 notches on the paper. 38 times Will had to endure being called names and 3 additional times he was pushed against a locker.

"Gees Will I didn't know it was that bad for you." I say to him as we walk back to his house.

"Well yeah, now do you see why we shouldn't you know, go out or anything like that?"

"Will listen i will do anything to be with you and hey" I say lifting up his chin so he isn't staring at the ground "at least you won't be alone when you have to deal with this. We would be together and we would get through this together."

The smaller boys eyes start to tear up as he looks at me and his cheeks start to turn red.

"N-no I-I can't p-put you through that M-Mike I-I just can't do that." He says in between sobs.

"Will, you wouldn't be putting me through anything. It would be my decision and you can't change my decision."

"B-but I-I can still try to ch-change it." He replies tears are still streaming down his face.

"But there is no point in trying because you can't change the fact that i like you Will." I say lifting his chin up higher to look me in the eyes.

"I like you Will." I say slowly.

I lift his chin up even higher as he keeps dodging looking me in the eyes. I lower my head and kiss him. Our first kiss on the side of the road I have to admit i didn't imagine it being like this more like we were alone in his house or even on our semi date not on the side of the road with Will crying. after maybe 1 or 2 seconds Will kisses me back. HE KISSES ME BACK. I don't really know what i expected though he was the one that liked me first. 

After 5 seconds Will pulls away and even though i thought that would get him to stop crying it seemed to make him cry even more. He walks over to me closer and puts his head in my shoulder and just keeps crying.

"What's the matter Will?"

"I don't know I have everything I wanted but there is just this sinking felling in my stomach that this is bad and I'm putting you in danger."

"Will you aren't putting me in danger."

"But how do you know that?"

"I just do no come on lets go home."

Will opens the door with his spare key and as we walk through the door I notice lots of big brown boxes littering the floor.

"Mom why are there boxes everywhere." I say my heart pounding hoping for the best that we are moving in and she is just unpacking everything from the garage but bracing myself that we are moving as soon as everything is settled between Will and I.

"We found a house and this will be our last night here and when you come back next time we will be leaving." She must have noticed my expression change so she chimes in "We will only be 2 blocks away so you can see Will whenever and Will can also come whenever too."

Well it could always be worse we could be moving back to Hawkins or be living on the other side of town.
