Chapter 10

(Wills POV) 

seriously how is he still sleeping i guess he had a big day.

i may as well draw it always helped waste time before. I quickly stand up and walk to where i keep my pencils and sketch books. I take a quick peek over at the bed to see a sleeping Mike awwww he looks so peaceful.

I sit back down in my corner and begin to draw i don't know exactly what i'm going to draw i'll just let the pencil do whatever.

okay he needs to wake up soon we are leaving at 9:30 i mean he still has another hour and a bit so i guess i'll just finish this sketch first.

Maybe i should wake him up now that i'm finished.

Okay I'm gonna wake him up now.

"Mike." I say as i shake him in an attempt to wake him up. "Mike it's time to wake up." Nothing I guess i should go and get ready then. I walk to the closet and pick a stripey blue, white and yellow t-shirt and some blue jeans. I take my clothes to the bathroom so that if Mike wakes up while I'm getting changed he doesn't see me. 

"Morning mom." I say as i walk into the kitchen to get some food.

"Hey Will you're up late. Where's Mike?"

"Oh he's still sleeping."

"Well you have to meet your friends outside soon."

"Yeah i'll wake him up once i finish eating and i'll bring him some ." I say as a pour some milk into my cereal and get another bowl from the cupboard.

I sit down next to El who is almost done eating her breakfast.

"Morning Will."

"Morning El, how are you."

"I'm fine I'm going to go see Max in the hospital and try do find her in her mind."

"I'll tell the others you said hi."

"Thanks Will." she says while getting up to go and put her bowl in the sink. "One more thing Will are you sure i should be here i thought i was staying in Hawkins so that i could be safe so the bad men don't find me and then i'm going to school tomorrow what if i see her and she bullies me again and i-i loose control and she finds out."

"You don't need to worry El we are all going to protect you if anyone tries to hurt you you have Hop and he won't let anything happen to you there is no need to worry. Okay?"

"Okay thanks Will." She says while walking away a smile growing on her face as she walks.

"I'm gonna go see if Mike's awake."

"Okay sweetie."

I walk to my room carrying two bowls of cereal trying not to trip over anything as i enter my room i see Mike still lying on the bed.

"Mike? Are you up."

"Ye- yeah morning Will."

"morning I brought you some cereal and you have to hurry up it's 9:00 and we are leaving at 9:30."

"O-okay."

i walk over to him and hand him the cereal and sit down next to him and start to eat my cereal i turn to look at him and i notice him looking at me but not in my eyes just below i feel my face start to turn red and ask him "What are you looking at."

"Oh nothing." he says as he turns back to his bowl and starts to eat. we eat the rest of our cereal in complete silence.

"I should probably get dressed now."

"O-okay I'll leave."

"thanks."

I walk silently out of the room and shut the door behind me only to find Dustin standing right in front of me.

"Dustin what are you doing here so early?" I say while walking over to the kitchen table.

"Mom went to go and find a job so she dropped me off here. But on a more important note." Dustin lowers his voice to a whisper so only we can hear. "Did you sleep in the same bed as Mike."

"Ye-yeah?"

"What does El think?"

"El doesn't care." El says coming out of her room to join us at the table.

"Well it's nice to see you didn't murder him." Dustin replys.

"Why would i do that?"

"Because well you know."

"Oh that, i dumped Mikes ass."

"WHAT!!!???!?!?!?."

"Yeah?"

"WHY DID YOU DUMP HIM?"

"He didn't love me anymore."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay-"

"Sup guys." Mike says interrupting El as he walks out of my room wearing his hellfire shirt.

Dustin notices his shirt and starts crying which Mike notices and looks down unaware of what he is wearing.

"Shit, shit sorry dude force of habit i-i'm going to go get changed. Sorry again dude."

"You okay Dustin?" I ask

"Yeah are you okay?"

"Ye-yeah I'm fine it's just he w-was just so nice and he rescued me he died as a hero but everyone just sees him as a satanist, demon worshiper person." Dustin says wiping his eyes with his sleeve.

I feel so bad for him i mean i never knew him personally but the way Mike, Lucas and Dustin describe him he sounds like a special kinda guy.

Mike walks back out of my room this time wearing a blue t-shirt.

"You okay man?" Mike asks Dustin seeing his now bloodshot eyes.

"Ye-yeah I'm fine I just need time i guess."

"i have to go now, Hop is waiting for me. Have a fun time."

"Bye." We all say in unison.

An awkward silence starts to grow in the room once El shuts the door. I start to let my thoughts wander. First mistake i start to think about the clock i saw then i think about Max and how El couldn't find her in her mind. After so long why did it have to come back. I thought i was finally in the clear that maybe the piece of the upside down that lives in me had died from exposure or something like that.

The sound of the front door swinging open breaks the awkward tension in the room.

"Here's Johnny!" Lucas screams as he bursts through the door "Shall we get this tour started are we going on foot or biking?"

"Oh i left my bike in the hotel."

"That's fine you can borrow Johnathan's old bike we might need to pump up the tires a bit first though or we could just walk."

"How about we get Argyle to drive us into town and then just walk from there?" Mike suggests.

"Who's Argyle again?" Lucas asks.

"The dude who's always high." Mike says.

"Oh, Okay."
