The alarm began blaring, accompanied by the blinding red lights. The Zurk siren. In a matter of seconds, the whole street was bustling and rushing inside to safety. You were outside watering the plants, when the alarm went off, but you heard clattering inside. To which, the door flung open, whacking you on the head sharply.

"Ow!! What gives-" you started to say, but you were dragged swiftly inside, pinned against the door, a hand cupped over your mouth. Inside was dark, as you'd expected, but his face was illuminated well, so you could identify him properly. It was the local scientist, Doc, a guy who you'd been crushing on for ages. You blushed deeply, mentally cursing that the thing that emitted light was his only field of vision.

"Shh. Don't panic, y/n. It'll be over soon." He soothed you, making you feel slightly less uncomfortable with the situation, as he towered over you with one hand pressed against the wall beside your head. He removed his other from you mouth, allowing you to breathe again, and placed it on the other side of the wall beside your head.

"Whats going on?" You whispered, trying to sound as calm and quiet as possible.

"Some Zurks. The intruders of the Slums. Don't worry, I'll protect you." You were as red as a beet, and your legs trembled at those words. You were almost convinced that you were going to fall, so you placed your hands on Doc's chest. After realising, his screen went pink, as he looked at you.

"Sorry. I just got a bit of vertigo after being dragged against a wall after sitting."

"Not to worry. I was... Merely looking out for you."

He was blushing madly at this point, so you gave him a small kiss on the 'cheek'.

"I appreciate that, Doc. Thank you." You smiled sweetly at him, but he was still as a statue, still blushing like a madman. But, he obviously was hungry for more, as he leaned in and kissed you passionately. It came as a small surprise, but you leaned into it. A moment later, he broke the kiss to let you breathe.

"I never told you how much I love you, did I?"

"No, but I think I can tell."

As the alarms still blared, you two were stuck in the dark, kissing for what felt like forever. That's how you wanted it to stay.

Then the lights flicked on.

"Papa, what in the-"
