Billy's pov
Man she's real pretty. Not like the others here who have no shame about their looks at me or throwin themselves at me. And to top it all off...she's a harrington. Steve's sister. And now we're friends. He's gonna love this. The freak and the new king friends with his antisocial, innocent sister. Eddie's told me all about her. He's got a crush. And has for a while. It's not the first time I've looked at her. How can I not see her? She's fuckin stunning. Even if she tries to hide she sticks out...not in a bad way...she's just that pretty. Flawless even. I've come to feel for her from a far. There's just something refreshing and endearing about the way she carries herself.

Eddie and I already talked. And our goal is to have her. I sit beside her in another class and smirk "hey comet" she looks my way and sends me a smile. It's real. She seems to be in a better mood than she was over an hour ago. "Hi Billy" I slide her the invite to the party tonight "I wanna take you to this" parties aren't Eddie's thing and he already told me parties aren't her thing. But if she says yes then go for it. Eddie doesn't do parties like this one because he's labeled as the freak and he'd rather not get hazed like in the past. They treat him like shit. He's older than me but I treat him like someone to look after. My reputation helps. Sure Eddie's not normal. No one is. He's just okay with it and being out there.

He's a chill dude, plus he spots me for weed. He's not bad like everyone thinks. She freezes looking at the invite "me?" Chewing on that pretty little lip of hers. Fuck. I nod "there's no one else I'm talkin to" with a chuckle. She replies "I...uh parties aren't my thing Billy" everyone parties. Especially teenagers. Even Eddie. And my little shit of a step sister. I wonder why she's sworn off parties? I say "it'll be fun. Promise. Let me tell you what. We stay for an hour and if you wanna go we can go to that diner everyone always talks about. If you absolutely hate it I'll never ask you to come to a party again. Scouts honor"

She asks "why me?" Her voice low. How can she not see and know just how bad everyone wants her? Fucks sake she's all everyone talks about in the locker room. That's before Steve gets there. They all want in her pants just to say they did it. I say "why not? I wanna know you. We are friends now after all...promise if you hate it we can leave and we can do something else comet" she writes something and hands it to me "pick me up at 9..." with a smile. I nod and open the paper seeing her address and her pager number. Cute. I grin "you won't regret it"

She asks "what was California like?" "It's the perfect place. The beaches were great. Always said I'd get a house right on the beach" I tell her thinking about it. She nods "sounds great. Maybe you'll get it" and leave her? No way.

We spend the period talking and trying to avoid the teacher hearing us. I walk her to her locker seeing Eddie waiting. He hugs her making her freeze a bit before blushing hugging him back. God she's so fuckin cute. She says "Ed you should come to the party" biting her lip again. He softens at her invite. I can tell it takes everything in him to say it but he does "not my scene sunshine. Besides I'm the school freak I doubt I'll have any fun or even be let in" she rolls her eyes at his words and pouts slightly "okay" he looks like he really just wants to bend to her will. But there's no telling the shit that would greet him at the party.

He only gets minimal shit here because there's teachers at almost every corner. But there? Outside? It's not safe for him even with my presence and he knows it. He went through it before. He makes her look at him "promise I'll make it up to you sunshine. We can go to that diner or that music store and buy records for one another to listen to. Anything you want really. But I don't party...not with the people we go to school with anyway" she nods "I get it. Really. You don't have to make it up to me..just thought it'd be fun" with a gentle smile his way.

He nods "I want to" with a small smile. And she nods "okay"
