Halley's pov
Emerson...Emerson did it. He had to have slipped it when I looked away. God why did I look away? I'm so stupid! Why did he do it? I haven't spoken to him since he made a joke outta me? Billy picks me up and I hug him as he walks us to the car. He sets me in the car and he strokes my cheek "who did it?" His voice soft. I sit and wonder why Emerson would do this.
He has the girl he wants. I'm out of the picture, he won that stupid fucking bet. And he broke me. The party is the first time we talked. So why? Eddie speaks up my hand in his "we'd like to know sweetheart. We just gotta get you to hopper so he can charge whoever did this to you" I nod and mutter "Emerson" they freeze and Billy asks "your ex?"
I nod sniffling. He kisses my head "he won't get away with this, we promise" I nod and sigh "I don't get it....the party is the first time he's even looked my way never mind talking and he did this and I don't get why. He used me for what I'm worth" Eddie says "hey. Don't say that about yourself hales. You're worth way more than a stupid bet and how he treated you okay? He's the one that's not worth shit" caressing my cheek. Billy replies "when did you see him?" "The kitchen when I was grabbing that drink. I looked away for one second for ice. One second" I sigh and he nods and we drive to the station.
Eddie asks "how did you folks take what happened?" I huff "they grounded me" Billy's neck snaps to me "they what" I nod "yup. Told me I'm not allowed to go out or drive the car that I don't get to drive anyway" with a shrug "let me get this straight sweetheart. You were drugged and could've been assaulted if Billy didn't find you when he did...and they grounded you?" Eddie asks confused and I nod "it's not lady like to party. If I wasn't there then it wouldn't have happened" Billy scoffs "and how the fuck does that make any sense? You're a teenager teenagers party. Emerson singled you out to drug. And that's not on you! His actions aren't your fault comet. Don't let them tell you otherwise" "he's right" Eddie says as we pull into the station.
