Alice's P.O.V
I woke bright and early the next morning and immediately had to wake Lea.
"Wake up!!!!" I cry nudging her with all my might. She groans, pushing me gently away.
"I need to hear about your date Lea!"
She smiles now and her eyes open.
"Oh yeah."
I grin. "So it was good then?"
"It was perfect. He is sweet and romantic and we had a great time."
I beam at her. "Second date?"
"I hope so." She murmurs still unsure of herself.
"Of course there will be!"
"Maybe I should call..."I jump up.
"Oh my God! Don't call him! He'll call you."
She just laughs. "Why so determined?"
"He needs to know that you have the power! He chases you."
She smiles.
"Just don't call!"I skip out of her room and downstairs for breakfast. Lea follows after me and places her phone on the table, pouring juice into a glass and taking a sip. Her phone beeps.
"That didn't take long." I laugh, glancing over her shoulder to see that it's a text from Ed. She unlocks her phone and reads the message quickly. She beams at me, turning her phone to face me. The message says:Hey beautiful! Had a gr8 time last night! Any chance we could do something on Saturday?
I nudge her playfully.
"Awh how cute are you two!"
She's glowing.
"Oooh Lea has a boyfriend" I grin in a little sing-song voice.
Mom walks in and smiles at us.
"So it went well then? I waited up but of course you had to go straight to your room and fall asleep!"Lea blushes.
"I had fun!"
"Kiss?" I ask.
She glares at me but the smile doesn't leave her eyes.
Mom laughs and walks towards the fridge, turning her back.
"Okay missy be secretive then." She laughs."So Alice how about that boy you were seeing?" Mom asks glancing in my direction as she closes the fridge. I grimace.
"I wasn't 'seeing' him Mom and we don't speak of him." She laughs again.
"Ah young love." She sighs.
"Pleeeease! I wouldn't know love if it hit me in the face. With a baseball bat." Mam wraps an arm around me and squeezes my shoulder.
"You just need to wait for your Prince Charming, petal. He's out there somewhere."I shake my head.
"If he is he's very lost!"
Mom chuckles. "Could be."
I get up from my seat and pour my cereal into the bowl which has become my favourite bowl. Yes I'm weird.
Lea gets another text message and I see her smiling at her phone. It's been so long since I was that head-over-heels in love with someone. Actual I don't think I've ever been in love. Is that weird? Maybe I'm destined to be forever alone. My sister will get married and have children and live in a pretty house and I'll be alone, constantly invading their privacy because I crave company. Typical of me to be fair. Isn't that basically what I've been doing all my life anyway? Why change?
