Lea's P.O.V.:
We headed to the police station. I was shaking like mad. Kidnap. Murder. Oh my God. And I fell for this guy.
I was sitting on the either side of the squad car, staring out of the window. I didn't know what to do so I texted Alice out of free will:
Please come to the police station. Try not to involve mum and dad in this .x
I quickly hit the send button and got out of the car when we arrived. I was escorted inside. I sat down on one of the chairs and one of the male officers offered me a drink. I asked for a cup of tea. I got the tea but barely touched it.
I walked over to a man in a white shirt. "Excuse me," I whispered. "May I ask what Jason did? Who he kidnapped and mur--" I closed my eyes not wanting to finish that sentence. "It was someone who he was involved with about 2 years ago. He had a different name back then. We tried to find him for ages, and now we have him," the officer explained. "Wait. A different name? But how are you sure that this is the same guy?" I asked and furrowed my eyebrows. "We have his face everywhere. And now we have him. We called your parents so we can make sure you're going home safe and sound," the officer said and left. Oh great.
I sat down on one of the chairs again and sipped my tea.
An hour later my parents came in the station. With Alice and for once I didn't mind. I still felt numb so I just looked at them not saying anything.
Fifteen minutes later I was in the car on my way home. I looked out the window and felt a tear stream down my face. I quickly wiped it away. I felt a hand on my shoulder so I turned my head to look at Alice. "Are you okay?" She mouthed. I shook my head. She hugged me and I hugged her back. And I cried. Like a 10-year-old baby. Alice rubbed my back and reassured me that everything would be okay. "Why can't I ever keep the guys I'm in interested in. First David, now Jason," I sniffed. "What? You and David?" Alice asked in confusion.
I bit my lip. "Yeah, sort of," I bit my lip, "we kissed a few seconds before you came into my life," I sniffed. "Lea, I'm so sorry, I really am," she said. I waved it off, "it's okay, don't worry."
I got out of the car after we arrived. "I'd like to be alone for a while, if that's okay," I announced. Mum and Dad nodded and I went upstairs. I went into my room and dropped myself on the bed. I put on some music and let the tears fall freely.
I fell for a criminal.
How could I have been so stupid?
