Hate at First Sight

Chapter 28

Lea's P.O.V.:

I woke up and saw Alice still asleep, with a smile spread across her face. I'm so happy she's happy.

I went downstairs and started to make waffles. Then it hit me. I ran back upstairs and bursted into our room.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWIN!!!!" I shouted and Alice jolted awake. "What?! Where's the fire?!" She asked looking around the room with panic.

I laughed, "There is no fire, silly. It's our birthday today!" I said with a huge smile.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY OH MY GOD!!" She shouted and hugged me tightly. I giggled and hugged her back. "How about we make it our day? We can go shopping, get our nails done and stuff like that. What do you say?" I suggested. "Sounds perfect," she said hesitantly. I frowned a little. "But.....?" I said. "I made plans with Ben for today," she said. Oh. Ouch. "Oh okay, well have fun then," I smiled, "I'll go call Ed and see if he's free today."

Alice left the room and I called Ed. No answer. Guess I have to go to the mall alone then.

I got dressed and went to the mall. I walked into every store and got Alice a couple of gifts: matching necklace and bracelet, a fashioncheque for H&M and some high heels I knew she liked. I looked around the stores for myself but couldn't really find anything.

I walked to Starbucks and felt two arms wrapped around me waist. "Hey, beautiful, missed me?" The voice said. I turned around and saw it was David. "Jesus, man! Can't you take a hint, leave me alone!" I shouted and pushed him away. "Alice, come on, we were great together!" He said. Alice? Alice?! "Hold up. You think I'm Alice. What the hell is wrong with you David! I don't get you!" I shout and I notice a few heads turning. I don't care if people are looking. "Oh I'm sorry, Lea, I didn't know, you two look so familiar. But then I had to know you were you, because," he stopped talking. I raised my eyebrows, "because?!"

"Well, your legs and thighs are a little bigger than Alice's," he said.

Wow. Great birthday it is. I shook my head and turned to leave when I saw Ed walking around the mall. Finally a friendly face. But I was on the verge of tears so I didn't want him to see me like this. I looked back at David, "I thought you were different," I said and walked away.

I wiped the falling tears away from my cheeks and headed home. "Lea?" I heard behind me and I stopped walking. "Lea, wait up, baby," it was Ed. I turned around and when he was close enough I hugged him so tightly and broke down into tears.

"Hey, baby, what's wrong? What happened?" He asked, worried. "This whole day is a mess and I want it to be over!" I cried.

"Oh, baby, come here," Ed said and sweeped me off my feet into his arms, carrying me.

The things David said to me will always be in my mind. So I decided to stop eating for a while, maybe my legs will get thinner. I snuggled into Ed's neck and closed my eyes. I don't remember what happened next because I fell asleep in his arms.
