Event #10: A Soul for A Soul

Hello everyone Flame here.

I am sincerely sorry for the EXTREMELY long wait however now that I am done with Sakura Samsara, I am back to doing y'all's requests.

To get back into the swing of things, this upcoming request is gonna be a little somber.

RexCelestial has requested for an Alex death request so we'll see how this goes.

Alex had been woken up by Himeko after he had gotten stabbed by the Herrscher of the Void.

He was informed that he was currently afflicted with Honkai Poisoning due to the wound and that Fu Hua had unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and had passed away.

Obviously, Himeko was unaware as to why Fu Hua had truly died, however Alex knew, as he simply gritted his teeth in frustration.

He struggled to get up as Himeko helped him get up to his feet.

"W-Where is she?" Asked the boy.

Himeko pointed over to where Fu Hua's lifeless, limp body was laid out.

"T-Take.........me to her." He said.

The redhead nodded as she assisted Alex and brought him over to the body.

"I don't exactly know what went down here, but it seems that the blow to her head is what did her in. Did the Herrscher bludgeon her to death or something?" Asked Himeko.

It took Alex a couple of minutes to get the words out of his mouth before he finally did.

"It wasn't the Herrecher that killed Fu Hua. It was the Overseer, Otto Apocalypse. He's the one who killed her, by shooting her in the head." He said which immediately surprised Himeko.

"Woah woah woah hold on. You're saying that the Overseer did this himself?" She asked.

"Y-Yeah. He clearly has his own agenda. Even the Herrscher was cautious about him. Whatever his plan could be is anyone's guess, however it's clear that having Kiana be a Herrscher is a vital part of his plan." Said Alex as Himeko nodded.

Alex got off of Himeko as he stepped forward and kneeled down in front of Fu Hua's corpse, looking over it for a while before gaining a somber look and whispering the words, "It's not over yet."

"Oh right. Hey drink take thi-."

Himeko pulled out a syringe with a blue liquid inside of it, however before she could finish speaking, she saw Alex stand up and slowly withdraw his sword before holding it by his side.

"Something up kid?" Asked Himeko.

"It's clear what the mission is now. You all gotta prevent whatever Otto's end goal is, by freeing Kiana from the Herrscher's control." He said.

"Yeah it seems so. What're you getting at?" Asked Himeko.

"There's a forbidden taboo when it comes to Alchemy. Mostly because the price to pay is unbelievable high." Said Alex.

This began to get Himeko worried.

"W-Wait. Just what're you planning to do kid?" She asked.

"Human Transmutation. Obviously when going by the law of Equivalent Exchange, there's nothing out there that can equal the value of a human soul. That is unless, another soul is offered up in its place." Said Alex, as he then held the sword in front of him.

"H-Hold on! You can't just go and willingly off yourself like that! Are you crazy!?" Shouted Himeko.

"When it comes to taking down the Herrscher, Fu Hua is much more of a valuable asset than I could ever be. Trust me. You all will need her. I'm just an ordinary human with zero resistance against the Honkai. I'd just be dead weight." He said.

"So what if you have zero resistance to the Honkai!? All that you've done for us these past six months have shown us that you're able to go toe to toe against the toughest of enemies out there regardless of your lack of Honkai Resistance! Alex, you're a lot like me. I also have zero lack of Honkai Resistance. In fact, I've been exposed to it so much that I only have a year left to live. Regardless of that I'm still living life to the fullest and even now with our lives on the line, I'm hellbent on saving my student! Please don't do this. Think about everyone. Theresa, myself, Bronya, Mei. Think about how guilty Fu Hia would feel once she finds out that you gave up your life for her. Think about how devastated Kiana would be." Pleaded Himeko.

Alex took in all of her words, simply staring at his sword, before speaking.

"I understand Himeko. Please, tell everyone that I'm sorry for my actions. This last half year with you all, will forever be the happiest time I've ever had. Thank you all." He said.

"Alex don't!" Shouted Himeko.

Alex turned and gave a big, whole hearted smile to Himeko before looking back ahead, swinging his sword before pointing it at him and stabbing himself where his heart was, as a bright light emitted from where he stabbed as a white orb came out from the stab, seemingly being Alex's soul, as the orb floated slowly and towards Fu Hua, as it entered her body where her heart was, as Alex fell over onto the ground.

As he did, he was immediately sent to Truth's domain as he turned and was immediately greeted by the pale white being.

"So, this is the way you wanna go out huh? Giving up your own life for the cause. Are you really sure about this? Once you agree to it and and shake my hand, Fu Hua will officially accept your soul and awaken, while you'll crystallize away and turn away into dust." Said the godly being.

Alex took little time to ponder this over as he simply gave Truth a smile.

"I'm putting all my trust in the girls to get the job done. My sacrifice will not be in vain." He said.

The godly being could simply chuckle before extending out a hand.

"You certainly were an interesting one, Alex Mustang. It was an honor being with you." Said Truth.

"Likewise, Truth." Said the boy as he also held a hand out and accepted Truth's hand, as they had a handshake, accepting the deal and making it official.

With that done, the white space began to disintegrate away, as Alex's vision returned back to him being on the ground, now with Himeko laying him on her lap, tears in her eyes as she gently stroked his hair.

Alex looked down to see that his lower body had already been crystalized as it slowly rose more and more.

As the crystallization went higher, reaching his chest and then his neck, he looked back up at Himeko and gave his final words.

"Godspeed, Murata Himeko."

The crystallization had finished, as Alex's entire body had been crystalized, before eventually disintegrating away as stated.

All Himeko could do was look down and shed more tears, as surely enough, Fu Hua had woken up not too long after that.
