Event #13: Surprise(Birthday Special)

This was meant to go up yesterday but I ended up finishing it late so here it is one day later. Enjoy!

The sound of a motorcycle roaring through the streets was heard as the bike headed towards and parked at a convenience store as the person on the vehicle would step onto the ground and remove their helmet, revealing themselves to be none other than Alex.

After placing his helmet on the bike's handles, Alex would breathe into his hands, his breathe being faintly visible as he shivered a bit and rubbed his hands together to get some warmth.

"Damn. Way too freaking cold this early in the month." Said the boy as he entered the store and looked around for anything that piqued his interest.

As he walked around, he noticed that sitting at the front of the store was a familiar red-head seemingly enjoying a small meal.

'What're the chances I'd run into her of all people?' Thought Alex as he considered striking up a conversation with Himeko though he opted against it as he figured that she was on a break and didn't wanna cut into that time she had to herself so he simply turned around to walk away though right as he did, he heard the girl stand up from behind and seemingly notice his presence now.

"Ah. Didn't expect to see you here kid." Said Himeko as the boy turned back to face her.

"Likewise Ms. Himeko. Are you on break from St. Freya?" He asked.

"You could say that. Just made a quick stop here for lunch. Afterwards I'm gonna head to rhe dormitory. The girl's are planning a big feast today."

"I see. That sounds nice."

"Would you like to come? It's been a while since you were last there. I'm sure they'd appreciate having you there." Asked Himeko.

Alex thought it over before quickly answering as he shook his head.

"Sorry. I appreciate the invite but no. Kinda, feel like having today to myself honestly."

"Oh. Alright then that's fine. I'll tell them you said hi."

With that, Himeko would bid Alex farewell as she left the store as the boy saw her step into her red open roof sports car and drive away.

Shortly after that, Alex would return to browsing the store, eventually buying and purchasing a few snacks, holding them in a bag as he stepped out of the store.

As he approached and was about to board his bike, he overheard a conversation from a nearby mother with her son as the child rode ontop of her shoulders.

"What're we gonna do for my birthday mommy?" Asked the child with a smile as the mother had a small giggle in response.

"Just you wait sweetie. It'll be the best birthday ever." She said.

"Yay!"

The room would enter the store as Alex stared back at the entrance doors for a moment before having a deep sigh and he took out his phone and saw today's date.

December 5th

'It's just another day Alex. No need to get worked up over it.' He thought to himself.

Alex would put the bag on one of the handles as he put his helmet back on and began to drive off back to his apartment.

[Meanwhile]

Himeko had arrived back at the dormitory as upon entry, she saw the girls organizing the living room and kitchen, preparing the feast for tonight.

Kiana and Bronya were currently playing games with Theresa watching while Mei and Fu Hua tended to the kitchen.
