Kemi's POV

1:30pm

I sat in the bus feeling uncomfortable and restless. Using a bus wasn't my budget. But i was left with no choice.l envisioned the reaction I would get from my clients, and knew i was in a mess.

Thank God, the driver from the church had agreed to drop me at the venue. But on the note, that he pick passengers going the same route.

Ronke and the other ladies occupied the backseat, to keep an eye on our stuffs. I sat with other passengers at the front seat.

I had tried checking the time on my phone and realized my phone wasn't in my bag. In a confused state, i ransacked the bag, dumping all its contents to the ground.

No phone!!

Quickly, i called the attention of Ronke and the girls. But they knew nothing about it.

I was sure i had come with it. I had used it to make a transfer to the driver, since i was low on cash.

Ronke tried my number severally, to be sure if i hadn't left it at home.
But the reply was all the same

Switched of!

"Kemi, just be calm. I am sure you must have forgotten it at home. Since we know the venue just cheer up." Ronke encouraged from behind.

I stared blankly through the windshields, avoiding the tears that filled my eyes from dropping.

I muttered.

"Ronke, this is Lagos. Once your fully charged phone becomes switched off. Then it is stolen."

Victor's POV

2:00pm

The occasion had started. Yet the caterer was no were to be found. All efforts to reach her were futile. Mama was up and down, pleading with the guests to exercise patience over the turn in event.

If only Dad had listened. If only he had invited only family. Things would have been sorted out, without any embarrassment.

Kids started wailing and complaining of hunger. I had opted to book a new caterer. But they all couldn't beat up to time.

Whoever this caterer was. I was prepared to give her, her own lash of query. She was paid.

So what was her problem!

At exactly 2:20pm. A blue bus had drived in, parking at a spot. Three ladies alighted down hurriedly, heading to the bus Bonet. The driver rushed out, giving a helping hand as they brought out large coolers.

A particular lady, amongst the three happened to be doing all the work with so much vigour.Pacing around with anxiety.

That should be the caterer.

I sighed, obviously irritated and strolled to their direction.

Kemi's POV

The compound was big. It occupied two duplex building and a boys quarters. Flowers were decorated at each corner of the building. The interior was lovely. Loud music echoed from every corner of the house. Children ran about giggling. Some older women danced and sang praises.

The girls and i were disbursing the coolers from the boot, when a masculine voice broke in.

"What sort of caterer comes in two hours late for an event?"

Dropping the coolers to the ground,i direct my gaze to where the voice had erupted.

Of cause, i had practiced my apology speech.
