Victor's POV

After my return from the office, I was pleased to have selected a new manager. "Femi".

I have known Femi for quite sometime and was only left speechless, when dad had employed a total stranger, over Femi who was down to earth.

Unlike Kelvin, who was always confused.Femi was detailed, punctual, well mannered and a man of discipline.

Before the meeting, I had called dad, informing him of my plans to replace Kelvin, and he gave his support, only on the note that I allow him remain in the company, as a lower staff. And I was ok with that. The meeting had gone well, with still no sign or word from Kelvin.

I stood at the balcony, it was some minutes after ten.I scrolled through my phone checking for contents to keep me busy, then a blue notification popped up, reminding me I had an unread message. I have been to busy and occupied to have seen the text.

It came from Kemi , asking me how I wanted my birthday order to be arranged , unsure of what she meant, I replied.

"Do you have suggestions?

My phone beeped immediately, showing she had read my message and replied already.

"Yes I do, I will send you some pictures, if you don't mind".

"sure". I text back, strolling to my room.

After few minutes, she sends some pictures asking i make a pick. Instead, i ignore the pictures for a question.

"How old are you?" .

She reads the text almost immediately, but hesitates, making me redirect my question to another topic.

"So how long have you been into catering"?.

"Twenty three years". She replies, making me send a surprised emoji and text.

"You have been catering for twenty three years?.

She sends a laughing meme, following a text.

"No I was replying to your first question, been catering for three years".

"Well your takeout's at the reunion was top notch, reasons to why, am booking you a second time" . I text back.

She sends a smiling sticker then a text afterwards.

"Gracias".

Unsure of what to say anymore , i text back, asking if we could voice call, to discuss the pictures she sent earlier properly.

I knew that was an excuse to hear her voice, and for some reasons, i felt guilty.

Hurriedly, I check to see if she had read the message and I sigh out of relief, when it was unread.

she had gone offline, two minutes ago.

I delete the last text, sending a new text.

"I have something to attend to, help me in making a suggestion".

Throwing my phone to the bed, I head to the bathroom.

Kemi's Pov

Next day.

I woke up still pissed at the fact that my cellphone had to betray me, just when my conversation was becoming interesting with Victor. The electricity had gone off, making my one percent cell phone go off .
