Victor’s POV
Like i had guessed.
He didn’t come.
He had turned down the offer blatantly like it wasn’t of much importance to him.
Speak of someone that harbored only hate and anger.
Stubborn to the core and vile.
The heavens had surely made a mistake pairing us together.
Twin or no twin,
Kelvin and I were of great differences. Even our reactions to anger which he presumed to be alike, I doubted the truth from it.
His reaction to anger was a far cry from mine.
He was vile.
“A penny for your thoughts?” Simi broke in with a smirk. We had arrived Osun state an hour ago and was headed to my hometown. Since we had used our personal car, it was a smooth and quick ride. Leave Mr. Rowland to take care of such situations.
“Ade?”
“Hmm?” I replied gruffly recalling I was yet to respond to her question. Not sure on how I was supposed to respond I joked instead.
“How much would you pay?”
She laughed tucking back a hair above her ear. Her gaze silted to Bukky who sat beside her and they chuckled like teenagers.
“I would pay ten thousand.” She offered.
“Twenty thousand.” Bukky seconded earning a light chuckle from mum who was seated at the front.
“Okay, so here we go.” Dad announced glancing back at the four of us his face wreathed in smiles and a bit of anxiousness.
“Have we arrived?” Bukky questioned trying to stare out of the tinted glasses.
“Aunty you can’t see through.” Simi teased.
Our limo had horned in front of a black aluminum gate and I heard the screeching sound of the gate. A young boy of not less than ten opened up and we drove in parking into a massive compound and for some seconds I felt my legs numb. I was anxious but curious all the same.
“Shall we?” Dad voice echoed and in a trance I opened the door to the vehicle blessed with the sweet smell of a local dish. The exterior wasn’t bad atall just the crumbling paints that fell off the green walls. Aside that,
The house was beautiful,
At least for its setting.
A duplex which I aproxximated to house not less then three rooms at most.
The scenery was all good. Flowers scatted around in clay pots. And since it was dry season, the trees and plants around weren’t so greenish but the dull color blended in just fine.
“Ade, you have been staring.” Bukky coughed behind clasping her hands with mine. I blinked obviously retiring back to reality.
You should blame my architectural analysis.
We are always observant
Especially when it concerned houses.
“Ade, are you anxious?” Mum looked worried holding me also.
“N..No..No I am fine.” I tried collecting my words and couldn’t place why I was stammering.
Stammering only acknowledged the fact one was either,
Scared,
Agitated,
Worried,
Anxious,
