Kemi
I just needed a bloody liar to full my ears with the lies that all men aren't the same. I may just knock the person over for such fallacy.

Literally. There were all alike.

"I can see him coming." Ronke whispered. I rolled my eyes pretending to look elsewhere. I couldn't hide the fact his presence sent me chills. Memories I had tried burying hovered back and I couldn't even resist his presence since he walked in. Well, i tried but I couldn't.

I saw it all.

The lady he held tightly. The way they kept laughing during their talk. The way he had held her hand. The smile on his face.

He was having a happy moment.

"Kemi." The voice I had grown to recognize echoed. His familiar cologne filled in and I couldn't resist the presence of this man standing some inches away from me.

"Hey Victor." I smiled back turning my gaze to his. He was just too perfect for my sanity. His inner shirt was halfway buttoned and memories of our first encounter at the reunion resurfaced.

"Why are you here. I mean. I am surprised to see you." He questioned. I stared back in confusion. After everything that had transpired in the past he choose such lame words to strike a conversation.

Not even a how are you question.

"Fun. I came to have fun." I forced a smile when I saw Desmond joining us.

Such a perfect timing.

"Exactly. You should have fun." He smirked

As if possessed by some witch. I had so much urge to punch that annoying mouth of his. What human was born to be so annoying.

"Thanks for checking up on me ," I beamed standing to my feet when Desmond stopped by with confusion written all over his face. " Well, Mr. Victor. Excuse me. I have a dance with my date." I replied formally and enjoyed his narrowed expression.

Both men stared at each other in silence. Clinging my arms to Desmond I smiled in content when his
arms circled my waist firmly and we took our leave walking to the dance floor.

"And who was that guy. Why was he looking at you that way?" Desmond quried looking so pissed as if he would cry.

" Just a friend. " I replied uninterested.

"Friend. He was looking at you in an uncomfortable way"

"Oh please. Stop reasoning things." I chided

The music was a slow love song. I buried my head on his shoulder swaying to the beat of the song. All I wanted was to melt in this moment. Forget all my worries. Forget the man I failed avoiding each time.

But I couldn't.

Voices closeby started to cheer from a distance and I raised my head glancing up to witness Victor and the same lady from earlier dancing so passionately. They looked perfect together. His hands encircled her slender waist and her face was wreathed in smiles as she swayed her hips seductively. The audience cheered louder clapping their hands.

"Are you okay?" Desmond questioned staring at my loosened hand on his shoulder. I had stopped dancing and stood stiffly.

"What's with that guy. What does he posses that I don't?" He whisper yelled grabbing my waist in a swift motion. I struggled out from his grasp in annoyance.

"Why did you do that?" I hissed adjusting my dress.

"Why. Am I restricted to holding you?" He fired.

"I need to use the restroom." I lied walking away.
