Kemi's POV

A lazy day at a spa. Maybe a pedicure and body scrub session.

No a lovely soothing massage would do.

If exhaustion was a person!

I thanked my stars for the millionth time that Ronke hadn’t been around on my arrival. The least  audience i craved for, was Ronke jumping around like a puppet laughing over my predicament.

Oh that ugly pout she would have put on. Just in a bid to tease me.”I guess heaven chose my side now. I threw my bag over the bed heading to the kitchen. Maybe hunger was part of my problem.

“Kemi is that you?”

I dropped the used spatula to the sink. Wasn’t that Ronke Calling out my name?

“Ron…ke.” I dragged the name unsure of who the caller is. Of course it couldn’t be anyone else. But like I said.

You can’t be sure in Lagos.

“Hey babes.” Came her loud voice as she walked in holding a bouquet of flowers. Her smile was broad and almost contagious. I eyed the roses she held then returned my gaze to her.

“Whatsapp?” Came my question fetching my plate of spaghetti from the counter.

“What happened. You arrived earlier than expected. Did it go as planned?” Came her endless enquires.

“Was I supposed to sleep there. Or are you indirectly trying to get rid of me?” I scoffed digging into my food.

“Hell no. ” She brushed off walking to my direction her hands tightly clutched on the roses.

“And when did my friend start receiving roses?” I questioned with a smirk.

“You know I have always had a thing for roses. So stop acting all ignorant.”

“Really! Am i ?” I teased. “last I remembered. Ladies don’t go about gifting themselves roses Ronke.”

“So your insinuating a man gave it to me?” She laughed dropping the roses on the counter.

“More like.” Came my reply.

“So how did it go. Victor and you?” Came her question deviating from the present topic.

“Not bad, just sore feet’s.” I replied gulping from a glass of juice, like my entire being depended on it.

She made a queasy laugh relaxing on the counter.

“So you guys are cool right? ” She questioned.

“Yes babe.” I replied not willing to go into details. Moreover her mood was not creating room for such audience. She seemed to be uncomfortable.

But why?

“We need to go for grocery shopping over the weekend.” She announced heading to the fridge. But we did that just last week. So what was she even saying?

“We stocked last week.” Came my reply. She tensed turning around with a little shock on her face.

“Oh that’s right. Kemi I am beginning to age. I forget so soon.”

“Last I remembered, your twenty six and you  don’t have any health records on hysteria. Ronke are you sure your ok?” I couldn’t help but ask.

She was just so bad at hiding it.

“Yes I am. Just tired.” She replied.

“So what about the roses?” I inquired eyeing them skeptically. I wasn’t meaning to pry, but I was very much puzzled about her behavior.
