We grew close so fast

Thought that we would last

All a lifetime

You made your way into my heart

Dazai's POV

"Dazai?? What are you doing here? I thought you were on a mission with Chuuya." The moment she opened the door of her apartment, a lavender breeze filled my nostrils. It was nice and heart-warming, just like her usual personality. And that day wasn't the exception.

"Actually, I came here to ask you a favor, Kera..." I bit my lip and rubbed my arms in discomfort. Honestly, I felt awfully guilty at that time, calling to her door in the middle of the night and right after she finished a difficult job, only to drag her into such mess. "I've just been told that Chuuya is sick and I need a partner to catch the Angel Dust dealers. The ware is arriving in an hour."

"And you want me to help you instead?" she raised an eyebrow defiantly, but in a way that made me tenser than I already was.

"I-It's okay if you don't want to come, b-but you came to my mind when Mori-san said Chuuya wasn't doing this job... Honestly, I hate to admit it but I won't be able to pull it out alone, much less still having fresh wounds..." Out of the blue, she held my wrist and pulled me towards the living room, turning on the lights and revealing to me her cozy furnishing and clean apartment.

"You don't need to justify yourself, Dazai. Let me change again and I'll accompany you. Sit down and suit yourself while you wait. It's cold outside due to the rain, even if it has stopped. Also, I'm sure you are freezing with only a coat." With her, everything was so easy, it made me somehow happy. She was so gentle to somebody like me that every once in a while I had to pinch myself, wondering whether she was real or just an illusion.

"You're right." I smiled at her as she disappeared in the corridor. Sitting on the couch, I decided to take a look at everything she had in the room, but a picture on the coffee table caught my interest.

Careful not to break it, I held it between my fingers and approached it to my face, inspecting the three people appearing in it.

"How come you kept this picture, Kera?" I could see myself and Chuuya, Kera between the two of us. She wrapped her arms around our shoulders, and because of that both my cheeks and Chuuya's were tickled pink. We were avoiding eye contact with the cameraman, but she was smiling brightly with her green eyes wide open. They were one of the most beautiful things I had witnessed in my life. And that is still true.

"Because you two look adorably shy in it." She mocked, finally appearing in the scene. I caught a glimpse of her and, in her hands, she was carrying a black scarf. Before I could ask anything, she sat next to me and placed it around my neck. "All better."

"Isn't it yours, though?"

"Not anymore. Consider it a gift for having behaved while you waited for me to get ready." She teased as I rolled my eyes. "Well then, I think we are both ready to go." She smiled, and, with that, she stood up and walked towards the door, me following her from behind, thankful for the extra warmth I was feeling. A warmth that was not just because of the scarf, but because she was the one who gave it to me.

Your POV

By the time we reached the specified location, some suspicious movements could be seen from afar. Several men in suits were guarding the entrance of an abandoned church, which, according to Dazai, was used as a storage point since secret passages and rooms had been built underground. Next to the main structure of the building, a camouflaged helicopter was resting silently on the ground near a cliff that led to the sea. Although I had never been afraid of heights, I cannot deny feeling threatened by the void between earth and the furious waves below, hitting the edgy and irregular shapes of rocks.
