"Hey." This was my first time seeing 'D' in person and all I could say was 'hey'?

"Nice to finally see you in person." 'D' carefully maneuvered over to my side and sat down beside me.

"Yeah..." I was staring intently at the features of my neighbour.

"I'm not a ghost you know?" I could already tell sarcasm lived inside 'D'.

"Yeah, I know." Still staring, my mouth moved without thinking.

"Then why are you staring at me, like you've just seen one?" 'D' let out a smile, the brightest smile I've seen in a long time. A smile like that only comes from someone who's really happy.

"Sorry..." I still analyzed every feature that lay before me. "It's just... I didn't expect you to be... You..."

"I'll go ahead and be honest. I have no clue what you're talking about." I could see the confusion building up.

"I thought you were a girl." I finally said.

Before me sat 'D'. All this time I expected my neighbour to be some cool chick with dyed hair, piercings and cool clothes, but I did not get close at all. I thought I had at least a decent idea of what she looked like but turns out I didn't even get the sex right.

She's a he.

He had his brown hair spiked up in a classy way. He had light skin that wasn't exactly blinding but somewhat fair. His build was somewhat average except every area you thought would be fat, was actually lean muscle. His broad shoulders were covered with a brown shirt, the sleeves a little tight as it strained to keep from ripping. His thick legs in khaki shorts. His teeth were amazingly straight and flawless. He looked flawless. His light brown eyes, watched mine as I stared it at him in disbelief.

This was the second time I met a guy who resemble perfection, but this time, he actually had a brain. And respect. And the decency to be nice. And a sense of the people around him.

His uproarious laughter broke my trance, and I was drawn to his weird sense of humour. "What's so funny?"

"You just said you thought I was a girl! How is that not funny?" He drew one leg to his chest and the other rested ahead of him.

He clapped his hands twice then controlled his laughter. "Well, you can't blame me."

He rested his forearm on his drawn knee and rolled his head to my direction to meet my eyes. "And why is that?"

"Cause..." I tried to form my words. "You were super friendly to me." I shrugged. "And your handwriting is really pretty. It's nicer than mine!" I defended.

"Let me get this straight." He cleared his throat. "You based my sex, my biological looks, based on my handwriting?" He stared at me, speechless.

When I gave no answer he began laughing once more. "Whatever." I rolled my eyes.

"No, no. I'm sorry. It's not funny. There is nothing funny about this. At all." He held back his laughter by biting his lower lip.

"Thank you." I could see his mouth slowly crawling into a smile. "Just laugh!" I knew he wouldn't get rid of this giddy laughter by holding it in.

After listening to him have a good laugh, I looked him in the eye. "I'm done. I promise." He reassured me, putting one hand on my knee.

When I opened my mouth, he dropped his hand and rested it back on his knee. "I know it was dumb, but I don't know. I didn't expect someone that nice to look like..." I gestured to him with both hands. "Like you." I directed my gaze back at the night sky.
