It had been two weeks since I had read the last letter. Over the course of fourteen days, I managed to stop thinking about the fact that there were no more letters coming. It was weird at first and it felt strange to go an entire day without picking up a sealed envelope, but after a while it became normal. It was strange to me that it had become such a daily part of my routine to go over to my desk and pick one out of a box, that I had begun to do it all through muscle memory. There was a tiny part of me that still wanted to reread the letters until the words lost meaning in my head, but I had to restrain against that. I wanted to get through this obstacle, and it wouldn't help if I were to relapse back into it.

"Lilah! Come on! Hurry up!" Kyan yelled from my bedroom.

I hurriedly dressed as I stood in the bathroom. "I'm coming! I'm coming!"

"You're gonna be late!" She groaned.

I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed all my valuables. "I'm not gonna be late!"

The night before, the secretary of World Talent called to remind me about my meeting with the head of their company, Charlie Lacreu. When they called me a few weeks ago, I had imagined that the meeting would be at night or in the afternoon at earliest, but turns out neither of those assumptions were right. I was being dragged down the stairs at 8 in the morning, 30 minutes away from my very first meeting. I made the mistake of calling Kyan right after I had hung up with the secretary, which meant I only had myself to blame for her waking me up at 6:30.

"Tony's waiting in the car." Kyan opened the door and began pushing me out.

I caught a glimpse of my grandparents staring worriedly at me. "Bye Gran! Bye Gramps! Love you!"

"Hurry up!" She growled.

I tried to wiggle out of her grip but she was unbelievably in control. "I'm saying goodbye!"

"You'll see them when you get back!" Her hands lay steadily across my back, still inching me closer and closer to the dark blue SUV.

"Not if you give me a heart attack first!" The driver's seat window rolled down to reveal Tony's brown eyes gleaming at us. "What's wrong with you?"

"I don't want you to be late for your first meeting with a modelling agency!" Kyan protested.

"I'm not gonna be late!" All this time Tony was just watching us silently.

Kyan stopped pushing me, almost causing me to stumble from the change of force. "You're gonna be if you don't get in the car."

The moment Kee rounded me to start pushing again, Tony honked his horn. "Don't start with me!" I yelled at him.

"Let's go, ladies!" He opened the door without leaving his car.

"Why are you two even bringing me?" I never received a response, instead I felt pain as Kyan shoved my head downwards and into the car. "Ow!"

"Oh, please. That didn't even hurt." Kyan slammed the door shut then got in beside Tony.

"Where are we going?" I handed Tony a crumpled piece of paper with the address scribbled on it.

As Tony entered the address into his navigation system, Kyan clapped excitedly, a bright smile shinning from her face. These two were more excited than I was, and although they showed it very roughly, I was glad to have them here for me. I was nervous and scared about what was going to happen. I had never gone to a talent agency before, much less tried to get them to hire me. What was I going to do? I felt like a complete idiot when I had to ask the secretary what I was supposed to wear. She told me to just wear a tank top, shorts and slippers, so I did.
