After a good night's sleep I woke up to my alarm. My elbows propped me up on the bed as I listened to the unfamiliar sound that opened my eyes. I looked around my room for the source of the noise, but all I saw was my typical setting; A dark room. My eyes locked onto my phone, vibrating as the alarm went off. I stood to pick it up and realized that my alarm wasn't the emergency tone that always woke me up, it was different today. As I listened closely to the recording I realized that the voice coming from my speakers was Dylan's.

'Good morning beautiful! Time to get up! You have the whole day ahead of you so put on that gorgeous smile and get ready for the best. If you have a bad day don't worry, I know a really hunky guy next door who will gladly hold you close. Have a great day, Ly!'

I smiled at his voice, imagining what he looked like when he made this. This must have been why he was borrowing my phone a couple nights ago. I rolled my eyes verifying the idea that he wasn't actually checking for Kyan's number when I handed it to him. I swiped across my screen, dismissing the alarm and the repetitive message spoken by his voice stopped. Leave it to Dylan to send my heart beating through my chest this early on a Monday morning.

As I made my way to the closet, I felt my smile widen from the perfect start of the day. I decided to wear a light pink pair of shorts with a white shirt, a light denim jacket, and a pair of matching sneakers. I placed my outfit on the edge of the sink as I undressed and hopped in the shower, being as quick as possible. I wanted to catch Dylan before he left for school to thank him for his morning greeting. I could tell that all throughout the day, this ditzy grin wouldn't leave me even for a moment.

Running my hand through my hair, I made my way to the dinning room all dressed and ready to go. "Good morning!" I cheered to my parents, sat down and halfway through their meal.

"Morning." My dad responded.

"Do you want me to make you anything?" My mom asked.

I poured myself a glass of lemonade, contemplating my hunger. "No thanks. I'm not hungry." The butterflies in my stomach were enough to occupy my thoughts.

"Are you sure?" I nodded to my mother. "Do you have money in case you get hungry in school?"

"Yes, mom." I said, taking a sip from my glass.

I stood by the counter, finishing off my drink as I watched my parents smile at each other between words. Although they weren't home all hours of the day, they were starting to feel more and more like family every time we talked. It was a great contrast to the days when they were just as plain and emotionless as robots. My lips left the rim of the glass as I held it under the tap, rinsing it out before placing it gently in the metal tub.

"I'll wait for your outside."

"You can stay here, we'll be a few minutes until we're ready." My father offered.

I shook my head and smiled. "It's okay, I wanna watch the clouds outside."

"Are you okay, Ly?" My mom asked.

"You seem strange." Her husband added.

A chuckled erupted from me. "I'm fine. I'm just happy."

"I think she might be on drugs." My father kidded, to which I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, dad. I'm totally wild and crazy like that." I said, tossing my arms up by my side.

The three of us laughed as I stepped outside, taking a deep breath of the chilly air. One hand gripped the strap on my shoulder as I skipped towards the sidewalk, my shoes barely making a sound against the pavement. I turned to the left and found Dylan's car still sitting in the driveway. I tiptoed to his lot and looked around, seeing him standing by his car door, his keys in one hand. He was wearing a black shirt and a pair of brown pants, simple yet very alluring. I ran up to him and covered his eyes with both my hands, requiring a great deal of tiptoeing.
