Chapter Fifteen

“Get her arm before she kills us!” One yells in panic and I feel someone holding my arm down, I feel someone else appear and pick up my head.
“Babd is she okay?” I ask.
“I am here Goddess.” She whispers to me, I feel the world coming back around me and I open my eyes I see her looking down at me with my head in her lap, she smiles at me.
“Heal Macha, leave me alone.” I say angrily as I glare at Dhuna as I lift my head, he gives me a sad look.
“Macha is dead, Goddess Morrigan.” Babd says to me, tears run down my face as I lay my head back down. “She will be back.” Babd says with a smile.
“I didn’t want either of you to die.” I whisper to her she gives me a sad look; I look over at who is holding my arm down to see Cu Chulainn. “Get off me.” I say angrily as I glare at him, he releases my arm and stands up, pain shoots through my other arm, I look down to see it forming before my eyes.
“Put her out for this.” Dhuna says as he focuses, I feel someone touch my head and the world goes black.
I wake up and open eyes, I look around my room as I remember the nightmare. I swing my legs off the bed and stand up I walk over to wardrobe and get the brush out and brush my hair in the mirror, I look down and I see blood on my dress. I feel someone appear in the room.
“Goddess Morrigan, are you okay?” Babd asks me as she walks over to me and sees me staring at the blood, she takes the brush and finishes brushing my hair.
“Was that a dream?” I ask her as I turn and frown at her.
“No, you killed him.” She says with a small smile.
“Macha?” I ask her as pain rips through me.
“Dead.” She says as she hugs me, we vanish and appear in the throne room and she lets go of me. I look to see the Gods assembled; they watch me.
“Congratulations on killing Lucifer.” Ark says to me with a grin, everyone around him nods.
“The other Gods?” I ask them.
“Holed up in their castle after they felt him die. The hordes surrounding the castle is slowly making their way towards us.” Ark says with a frown.
“We need to kill them.” I say angrily. “They will kill all the humans.” I say as I glare at them.
“We were waiting for you to wake up.” Cu Chulainn says with his arms crossed as he glares at me.
“Where are they?” I ask as I look at Ark.
“Near the sleeping giants.” Ark says to me, I vanish, the forest appearing around me. I fly up into the sky looking for any sign of movement, I see large numbers walking through the forest towards the sleeping giants. I dive towards them, I feel Gods appear down below me as I make it to the first group I change as land I slash through the two closest to me, as I jump away from the attacks of two others, I cut the group down within minutes. I fly back up and find the next group and dive towards it, I keep doing this as I watch the sun rise. The creatures retreat into the darkness of the woods to escape the light and I follow, I hear fighting all around me as I slice through the group, I hear someone scream in pain and I rush towards them. I see Theros laying on the ground in the middle of the creatures holding his side, I see blood pouring from it, I cut the group down and touch him sending him back to my palace.
I let my anger loose. “Get out of the forest.” My voice echoes through the forest around me I feel gods vanishing, once they are gone, I set the forest on fire getting rid of the creatures escape route from the sun. I fly up and I see a group running from the fire and I dive down to them slicing through them, I fly back up and I see Cu Chulainn fighting creatures in the burning forest. I fly down to him and touch him watching him vanish, I cut through the few creatures left and fly up into the air again I look around for any more creatures and I see none in the burning forest, I release magic putting out the fire as I watch for any sign of movement.
Did we lose any Gods?
No. Are they all dead?
I see movement in the trees that I did not destroy, another horde.
No.
I fly towards it diving into them knocking them down with my body as I change swings my swords at everything that moves, I feel pain from claws on my legs, I ignore it and keep slashing at everything, I make my way through the forest feeling exhaustion as I cut down group after group. I feel the Gods appear behind me as I keep moving cutting everything down, I see a group of women ahead of me in the forest walking towards me their eye glow red at the sight of me. I run towards them as they run towards me I cut off the head of the first one, I feel one grab my left arm as I cut down another on right, I feel fangs sink into my skin, I scream at her as I grab her by the hair and rip her off my arm and cut her head off. I look back at the others to see them all pouncing on me at the same time, I turn to run to see drowned men circling me.
I let the rage loose as I charge into the women, cutting them down as I feel more fangs cutting into me, I hear footsteps running towards me to see Cu Chulainn running towards me with concern on his face as he starts chopping through the Baobhan. I sway from the loss of blood to hear the clicking behind me, I turn to see the Drowned coming towards me, I run towards them cutting them down as I feel claws rip my flesh open. I feel a hand on my shoulder as someone makes me vanish, Dhuna sees me and runs to me catching me before I hit the floor.
“Let me go, I need to go back.” I say angrily as I smack his hands off me with a sword blade.
“You need to be healed, stop being stubborn.” Emnos says as he glares down at me.
“Go jump off a cliff.” I say angrily to him and he laughs as he holds a hand over me and I feel magic surge through me, I sit up and he pushes me back down. “How many are out there?” I ask him as I glare at him.
“Gods? All of them but six at the moment.” He says as he smiles down at me. “Why didn’t you call us back out after you put out the fire?” Emnos asks me.
“Theros got hurt, I didn’t want that to happen to the rest. I wanted to fight alone.” I say with a glare.
“If you fight alone you will die, love.” He says as he winks at me.
“What do you know?” I ask him angrily. “I am the Goddess of War.” I say as I glare at him.
“Obviously more than you.” Emnos says as he grins down at me, I feel the magic stop and I try to sit up again and he pushes me back down.
“Let me go, ass.” I say as I glare at him and he grins at me.
“Not yet, you need a moment with me.” He says with a laugh.
“Why?” I ask him with a frown.
“You lost a lot of blood from the fang girls so you need to sit back a moment.” He says as he watches me with a smile.
“You can be creepy.” I say to him with a frown.
“How so?” He asks with a grin.
“By being nice.” I say to him with a smirk.
“I am always nice, you just misunderstood me.” He says with a laugh.
“Try saying that with a straight face.” I say to him and he laughs harder. “Now let me up I feel fine.” I say as I glare at him and I sit up he doesn’t stop me this time and I vanish. I look around me to see all the bodies of the Drowned, I see movement ahead of me and I run towards it, I see a Baobhan on Cu Chulainn’s back biting his neck I rip her off with one hand and decapitate her with the other I touch him and make him vanish where I had just been sitting with Emnos and I cut down the Baobhan around me, getting away with four bites before I move on to the next group, Drowned men appear around me, I kill two before the others swarm me. I feel the claws on my skin as I cut them down, I feel one bite my neck as I cut down one, pain shoots through me as I reach up with my sword and drive it through the thing’s skull, the dead thing holds on tightly as I cut down the others I feel one bite in my leg, I cut the head off and rip it off my leg. I run towards another group where I see Theros fighting them, I cut through the two who were about to attack him, him and I fight together to kill the others, after we are done he looks over at me and laughs hysterically, he walks behind me and pulls off the Drowned still attached to me.
“Found that funny?” I ask him with a frown.
“I have never seen anything like that before. Of course, I am going to laugh.” He says as he laughs.
“I can only imagine how Emnos would have reacted.” I say as I glare at him, he breaks out into another fit of laughter, I run towards movement I see in the trees ahead of me and slice through three Baobhan before they notice me and grab me, Theros runs up behind me and cuts two off me and I cut the other two down. After we finish with the group we run further into the forest, the sounds of women screaming in anguish sound out around us, I cover my ears from the pain it causes. Floating women in long white dresses with red hair and red eyes glare at us as their mouths hang open screaming at us, I charge towards them cutting them down, I look behind me to see Theros affected more by the screaming I jump back to him and touch him he vanishes. I cut down the screaming women as they try to grab me with the claws on the ends of their fingers, one slices through my neck and I cut her in half as I turn towards her. I run on through the forest to see more movement ahead of me, I see something that looks like a cat run through the woods towards me, I stop to watch as eight more cats appear, more cats appear out of the woods around me. They all look identical with a white spot on them, I feel magic coming from them as they hiss at me, I slice through them as they jump towards me, I feel claws and fangs digging into my skin as I chop away at them. Emnos appears beside me, and looks at the cats and laughs, I glare at him as I cut the head off one and he helps me finish killing them.
“Are you not supposed to be healing?” I ask him angrily.
“Dhuna suggested I chase after you and heal you on the go.” He says as he winks at me.
“As long as you do not laugh at everything that attacks me.” I say as I glare at him.
“That I cannot promise, especially if its more cats.” He says as he laughs, I see movement in the forest again and I run towards it hearing Emnos run after me, I see Ark fighting small strange looking men they only came up to his knees. Quite a few were on his back hitting him with clubs and others were hitting his knees with clubs as he swings his battle axes at them. Emnos runs up beside me and starts laughing hysterically, I glare at him before I run to help Ark, I kill the ones on his back first, as I start to turn to attack the others, I feel one leap onto my back making me fall face first into the dirt, I hear Emnos’ laughter as I grab it by the foot and throw it off me. Ark and I finally kill off the rest of them, we look over at Emnos who is crying from laughter as he sits on the ground.
“Get up we need to go.” I say angrily to him, he stands up trying to control his fits of laughter.
“Tiny people!” Emnos says as he laughs harder as he runs after me.
“He is in a happy mood.” Ark says angrily as he runs with me.
“At least someone is enjoying this strange fight.” I say with a frown, and Emnos laughs harder, I feel a hand grab my leg and I fall to the ground I look down to see a skeletal hand holding onto me as it pulls itself out of the ground, Ark runs over and stomps on its skull, I feel hands grab me from all around. I swing at them with my sword as the start pulling on me to come out of the ground, Emnos strikes at them with one of his blades.
“Emnos!” I yell at him when I see a hand behind him reach for him, he looks behind him and cuts off the hand and goes back to cutting the ones trying to grab me, Ark grabs me by the arm and tosses me to the side, I land on my feet as the ground beneath us churns. Hands come out of the ground all around us. “Run away!” I yell at them angrily as I gather magic inside me, once they are out of range, I unleash fire into the ground and the ground stops moving. I run to them and we continue on through the forest.
“Thanks, Morrigan for the heads up.” Emnos says as he grins at me.
“I cannot let anything happen to my healer.” I say to him with a laugh, I hear horses ahead of us charging through the forest towards us, we jump out of the way as black horses run past us with headless men on them, they turn around back towards us I see them holding a head in one hand with an abnormally large grin on the faces the eyes in the heads watch us, and strange looking whip in the other. They charge back toward us, I jump onto one of the horses cutting the man in half, the horse vanishes under me, I roll across the ground to my feet as I grab onto another horse and swing my sword at the headless man chopping off the arm with the head, he swings his arm back and lashes me across the face with the whip made of bone. I grab him with my free hand pulling myself up as I cut through his chest, the horse vanishes and I drop to the ground. I stand looking around for the other one to see Ark chopping away at horse and rider, Emnos runs over to me with concern on his face as he looks at mine, he starts to raise a hand and I shake my head at him. “Save it, for something worse.” I tell him as I watch the horse vanish, Ark runs to us and we continue into the forest.
Howls break through the forest ahead of us, we stop looking around, I hear something running through the forest around us, I can hear them panting as they walk toward us. Large dogs the height of a cow come out of the forest around us growling at us, the green shaggy fur standing out in the darkness. “At least it is not cats.” Emnos says with a giggle as his swords appear.
“I think I prefer the cats.” I say quietly as more appear out of the forest around us. “Get close to me.” I whisper to them, I feel Emnos press himself up against my back as he wraps his arms around me.
“Whatever you say, love.” He whispers in my ear; Ark backs up against us as I gather magic into my fists and release it all at once fire spreads out around us killing the large dogs.
“Now you can let go.” I say as I frown up at him.
“I am too terrified to.” Emnos says as he grins down at me, I give him an annoyed look and push his arms off me as we run on.
The Gods believe that is everything.
I will check from the air.
I grab Emnos and Ark and make them vanish, I fly up into the air and scan the forest as I glide over it, I look for any signs of movement. I glide in wider circles to make sure none escaped, to find the entire area is completely clear, I vanish the throne room appearing around me as I change. The Gods look over at me with grins.
“They are dead, we killed them all.” I say with a smile. “Did we lose anybody?” I ask them with a frown.
“Leif died.” Vhaanth says to me. “Also, Avaya and Durmada.” He says with a frown.
“No one else?” I ask him and he shakes his head. “I need to sleep, otherwise I will collapse during the next fight.” I say as I feel the exhaustion crashing down on me as the adrenaline leave me, I sway on my feet as I feel my eyes getting heavy. I feel an arm holding me up, I look up into Emnos’ eyes and he grins at me.
“How dare you touch her.” Cu Chulainn says angrily as he walks towards us.
“You are not my demigod anymore; it is no longer your concern.” I say as I look up into his eyes, he looks down at me with pain in his eyes. “Go to your Goddess.” I say angrily, as we vanish. Emnos leads me over to the bed and lays me down and covers me up with the blanket. “Thank you.” I say quietly.
“You’re welcome, Morrigan. You were great out there today, want me to heal your face now?” He asks me with a smile as he kneels down beside me.
“Do what you think is best, I don’t care.” I say with a small smile, as I my close and I fall asleep.
I wake up and I feel an arm around me, I feel anger rage through me. “Lucifer get out of my bed!” I yell angrily as I sit up and look down at Emnos and he grins at me. “Why are you in my bed, Emnos?” I ask him with a frown, and he laughs.
“You are always cuddlier while sleeping, I couldn’t pass up the chance, love.” He says as his grin widens.
“That is because I am unconscious and unaware.” I say as I glare down at him and he laughs, I swing my legs off the bed and stand up, I walk over to the wardrobe and grab the brush. I walk back to the mirror and brush my hair, as I look at the scar across my face from the whip. “You didn’t heal it.” I say to him.
“Goddess of War should have a scar to show she has been in battle.” He says as I hear him get off the bed. “Though if you don’t like it, you can always make it vanish.” He says as he walks up behind me with a grin.
“I don’t mind it.” I say as I walk back to the wardrobe and set it back down inside. “Why are you being nice Emnos?” I ask as I turn to look up at him.
“In that fight with Lucifer, the duel. I realized something.” He says with a smile.
“What?” I ask him with a frown.
“I was trying to cage something that was meant to be free.” He says as he laughs.
“So, no more chasing after me?” I ask him with a frown as I cross my arms.
“I never said that.” He says with a grin, I glare at him. “But I will not try to control you like before.” He says as he wraps his arms around me.
“Your inability to be in just one relationship, is a turn off.” I say to him as I pull his arms off me, I turn and walk out the door and make my way back to the throne room, I hear him following me. I open the door to see the Gods are still there waiting. “Any signs of any more attacks?” I ask them as I walk to them, I look through them to see some Gods missing.
“No, Morrigan. Do you think we should go after the others?” Vhaanth asks me.
“Why are you asking me? You are the leader.” I say with a frown, and he laughs.
“No, Lucifer was right about that. You should be the leader.” Vhaanth says to me with a smile.
“I do not want to be.” I say as my frown deepens.
“You led us into this war, you killed more than any here. You put yourself in more danger than the rest of us and you did your best to keep us safe. You are the leader.” Ante says to me with a frown.
“I agree with him.” Ark says to me.
“I will follow you anywhere.” Emnos whispers in my ear, and I glare at him as I pull him away from behind me so I can keep an eye on him, he grins at me.
“You gained the respect of the Gods, Morrigan.” Vhaanth says to me with a smile.
“What happened to the Gods who are not here?” I ask him.
“Aurelia left angry, because of the way you talked to her demigod.” Vhaanth says with a frown.
“She should muzzle it then.” I say angrily as I glare at him. “Why did Edur leave?” I ask him.
“To bury the dead.” He says with a sad smile.
“I am going to visit the other Gods.” I say to him, he frowns at me.
“Are you sure that is safe?” He asks me.
“No, but I need to see if they are going to attack.” I say with a frown.
“I could go with you.” Ark says with a smile.
“No, I am going alone. I can escape through a window if I have to.” I say with a grin.
“Take it from me, trying to keep her caged is a bad idea.” Emnos says with a laugh, as I vanish. The main hall appears around me; I walk through the halls to the throne room where I feel them gathered. I open the door and walk inside; they all look at me.
“Is this fight over?” I ask them, Aamon walks towards me.
“What happens if we give up?” He asks me.
“You get to live in peace, as long as you do not attack.” I say with a smile.
“And if we attack?” He asks me.
“Then I kill all of you.” I say as I glare at him.
“Seems you have made our choice for us.” Aamon says with a sad smile.
“How long until Lucifer reincarnates?” I ask him with a frown.
“Four hundred years.” He says to me.
“How long until the Fomorians show?” I ask him.
“Four hundred years. Carnage wants to wait for his return.” He says quietly.
“Are you going to attack?” I ask him.
“No, we are not strong enough to beat you. Only Lucifer was capable of that.” He says as he watches me.
“In four hundred years are you going to attack?” I ask him.
“We will not get a choice in that.” He says to me with a frown.
“So, we get four hundred years of peace until I kill Lucifer again.” I say with a smile, and he nods. “What about the creatures?” I ask him.
“We will hold the remaining back, the ones you killed ran off without knowledge. Is that a scar from the headless?” He asks me with a frown.
“Yes.” I say with a smile.
“I am sorry.” Aamon says with a frown.
“I like it.” I say with a laugh, Aamon laughs with me.
“Well, you are War, you should have a scar.” He says with a wink.
“As long as you all behave, I will never kill you in the four hundred years we have. That means no hurting humans, no letting the creatures loose.” I say with a smile and I look over at Asmodeus. “And no more visits.” I say as I glare at him and he grins at me, they all nod at me, I vanish back to the throne room, everyone looks over at me. “No more war.” I say with a smile and they grin at me.
“You can all go back home; I need to do something. I cannot have a God upset with me.” I say to them as I vanish. Aurelia’s mansion appears around me, I walk through the halls, a small man runs up to me. “I am Morrigan, Goddess of War. I wish to speak with Aurelia.” I say to him with a smile and he nods motioning for me to follow. He leads me through the mansion and up several stairs to large silver double doors. “Check to see if she is able to receive visitors.” I say to him and he nods, he goes through the open doors and I hear voices. He comes back to me and motions for me to go in. I walk through the doors into the room, everything is decorated with autumn colors and leaves. I see Aurelia sitting in a chair by the fireplace, Cu Chulainn stands behind her watching me, I walk over to the chair across from her and sit down and watch her.
“Can I help you, Goddess Morrigan?” She asks me with a frown I can see the anger in her eyes.
“The next time we are at War, and you leave before it is done. I will hunt you down.” I say to her as my eyes glow, she looks at me with fear.
“Yes, Goddess Morrigan. I apologize for my actions.” She says quietly.
“I also expect you to muzzle the mutt, or I will.” I say as I glare up at Cu Chulainn, he glares down at me.
“I apologize for him speaking out of turn. He is protective of you.” She says quietly.
“That is no longer his responsibility. That ended when he asked me to disown him.” I say angrily.
“I asked that of you.” Cu Chulainn starts yelling at me.
“Silence!” Aurelia yells angrily.
“That is all I wished to talk to you about. The war is over, I am going to sleep.” I say quietly as I stand, Aurelia stands with me.
“Thank the Gods it is over.” She says with a smile.
“Until four hundred years from now, Lucifer will be back and the Fomorians will invade this world.” I say with a sad smile, she looks at me confused and I vanish. My room appears around me and I lay down on the bed, I will finally wake up alone, I smile at the thought as I close my eyes and go to sleep.
I wake up and open my eyes, I sit up on the bed. After I brush my hair, I walk to the throne room to see some Gods from the other side waiting for me, I sit down on the throne and the seneschal comes over to me.
“These Gods have requests, Goddess Morrigan.” He whispers to me.
“Call them in the order you received them.” I say to him and he nods.
“Aamon.” He says and Aamon walks forward to the platform with a smile.
“What is it, Aamon?” I ask him.
“I want to come to stay with you or some other God, I realized if I am not near Lucifer, I will not be forced to fight against you.” He says to me.
“You can stay here as long as you promise not to get in my bed while I am sleeping.” I say annoyed.
“I think I can manage that.” He says with a laugh.
“Accepted.” I say to him. “The seneschal will escort you to your room after I am done here.” I say to him and he nods walking over to the door to lean against the wall.
“Sathanas.” The seneschal says, I frown at him as he walks to the platform.
“I know you cannot be here for the same thing, what could you want?” I ask him with a frown.
“The same thing.” He says with a grin.
“Are all of you here for the same thing?” I ask them and they nod. I watch them as annoyance builds up in me. “Seneschal escort them to their rooms, give them the Lords rooms.” I say to him and he nods motioning for them to follow, I watch as they leave the room. I watch Aurelia and Cu Chulainn appear in the room and I watch them as they walk over to me.
“Goddess Morrigan, nice to see you again.” Aurelia says with a smile, I frown at her.
“Nice to see you, Aurelia. What do you need?” I ask her as I glare at Cu Chulainn.
“I am having an autumn festival and I wanted to see if you were going to visit.” She says with a smile.
“Probably not, I do not keep time very well. Months and years pass by without me knowing it. To me I saw you yesterday, but that could have been forty years ago.” I say with a frown.
“You saw us two weeks ago.” She says quietly.
“Like I said, time has no meaning for me and so I am lost to it.” I say as I watch her.
“I did not know, Goddess Morrigan. I am sorry.” She says with a sad smile.
“The one behind you did.” I say to her, she looks back at him with a frown and looks back at me.
“He does not speak of you, so I know nothing.” She says with a sad smile.
“Probably best if he doesn’t.” I say to her. “If that is all I am waiting for the seneschal to return.” I say to her and she nods as they vanish, a tear runs down my face and anger ignites in me as I wipe it away. I watch Ante appear and he walks over to me with a frown.
“What is it, Ante?” I ask him.
“There have been attacks on villages.” He says quietly.
“Where?” I ask him.
“Thomasport, and Grimbu.” He says to me.
“I will take care of it.” I say to him and he nods.
“Things are quiet around here.” He says with a frown.
“Have been for a while.” I say with a sad smile.
“You should try finding someone, Morrigan.” He says to me.
“I am not making that mistake again.” I say to him, he nods and vanishes. I vanish, a town appears around me and I fly into the air I look around the town for anything out of place as I send out a pulse of energy looking for creatures. I feel one in one of the houses, I fly towards where I sense it and send out another pulse, I dive through the window of the house and land in the rafters looking down. I see a strange creature laying on the bed, I change and hit the floor as I walk over to the creature, it opens its eyes and looks up at me.
A sword appears in my hand as I watch it stand, it lunges at me and I slice it in half, the sword vanishes and I vanish. The next town appears around me and I send out another pulse, the creature is in the forest. I fly up and glide to the forest around the back half of the village, I send out another pulse to find a cave where it is coming from. I land on the ground as I change, I quietly walk into the cave and step over the human bones and remains at the front of the cave, I make my way quietly to a large open area to find the creature doing something with human bones. I move to the side against the wall quietly to watch, it is binding the bones together into some kind of effigy, I look around the creature to see tools it had made from bones as well. I step quietly over the creature and decapitate it as the sword appears in my hand, I vanish and sit back down on the throne as the seneschal runs back into the room, I let the sword vanish.
He walks over to me with a smile. “All the Gods are taken care of Goddess Morrigan.” He says to me out of breath.
“Good job, seneschal.” I say to him with a smile and he grins at me. “What is something humans do to entertain themselves?” I ask him with a frown.
“Well, there is reading, card games, shopping, watching the tournaments.” He says with a frown.
“Thank you, seneschal.” I say to him and he nods before walking away, I stand up and vanish Theros’ mansion appearing around me, I walk through the halls towards the platforms. I walk out onto the platform and sit in one of the chairs watching the ocean, Theros walks up beside me with a smile.
“What brings you Morrigan?” Theros asks me.
“My palace is too quiet.” I say to him. “When did I last see you?” I ask him with a frown.
“It was about three weeks ago.” He says with a frown. “Why?” He asks me.
“I was just wondering.” I say with a smile.
“Want me to sit with you?” He asks me.
“If you want.” I say to him, he sits in the chair beside mine. “What do you do for fun?” I ask him.
“I swim, read, chase after maids, come bother you.” He says with a grin. “Why?” He asks me.
“Just trying to find something to do, I have been so busy all this time. Now I have nothing.” I say with a frown. “All I can do is wait for the next war.” I say quietly.
“You just need to find something to take up your time.” He says with a smile.
“Like what?” I ask him as I look over at him. “Everything I did have before Lucifer has been more or less stripped away.” I say with a frown.
“What do you like to do?” He asks me.
“I don’t know, that is the problem.” I say with a smile. “Thank you for your time, Theros.” I say as I stand up and vanish, the forest where we fought the creatures appears around me. I walk through the forest enjoying the memories of the fight, enjoying the sounds of the trees swaying in the wind.
I feel someone appear behind me and I turn to see Vhaanth, he gives me a sad smile as he walks over to me. “What is it, Vhaanth?” I ask him with a smile.
“Theros was worried about you, he came to me.” He says as he offers his arm to me and I take it, we walk through the forest together.
“I was just asking questions.” I say with a laugh.
“You have nothing to judge time with, to you it is endless. This moment could last thousands of years and you would not know it. I understand what you are trying to do.” He says as he looks down at me with a sad smile.
“When did I last see you?” I ask him.
“A month ago.” He says to me. “You are trying to find something that will give time meaning to you.” He says to me.
“Also take my mind off things, everyone suggests reading. But that is the worst.” I say with a frown.
“I agree, for you reading is not something you should do. Your entire city could waste away because you picked up a book.” Vhaanth says with a frown.
“Any suggestions? Because walking through a forest is not advisable either.” I say with a laugh.
“I cannot think of anything you could do that would not be detrimental. Other than socializing.” He says with a frown.
“The one person who kept me rooted is gone.” I say quietly.
“He is not gone, just did as you said. He found the happiness he deserves.” Vhaanth says to me, I feel tears fall down my face and he stops and hugs me, I hug him back. “You sacrificed more for the Gods and the humans than they will ever know, you deserve happiness too.” He whispers to me.
“My happiness found happiness elsewhere.” I whisper to him. “Both of them.” I whisper, he lets go of me and gives me a sad smile and I vanish. Emnos’ mansion appears around me and I walk through the hallways as I wipe the tears away, the people run past me busy with duties as I walk the halls.
“Morrigan, I didn’t sense you.” Emnos says as he walks up beside me.
“How long has it been since I last saw you?” I ask him.
“About a year.” He says to me, I stop and look at him with a frown. “Are you okay?” He asks me.
“It has been a year since the war?” I ask him.
“Yeah, why?” He asks me.
“Doesn’t feel that long, I was just in the forest with Vhaanth. I came here and started walking through your halls and eleven months passed.” I say quietly.
“Are you okay, Morrigan?” Emnos asks as he pulls my face to look at him.
“I cannot tell time.” I say with a smile and I vanish, Ark’s mansion appears around me. I walk through the halls until he appears in front of me.
“Hello, Morrigan.” He says with a smile.
“Hello, Ark.” I say with a smile, I feel someone appear behind me, I turn to see Emnos.
“Are you chasing after her again?” Ark asks angrily.
“Only for the right reasons this time.” Emnos says with a laugh.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Ark asks him with a glare.
“She cannot tell time.” Emnos says to him, Ark looks down at me with concern.
“What does that mean, Morrigan?” He asks me.
“It means that to her time does not exist, she walked my halls for eleven months and thought it was just a day.” Emnos says to him.
“That sounds dangerous.” Ark says with frown.
“It is, she has to have constant contact in order to keep up with time. And that is only because the person she is with can tell her how much time has passed.” He says with a frown.
“How long has it been since I have seen you Emnos?” I ask him with a frown.
“Only a few minutes, love.” He says with a grin.
“Who can we put with her that can help her keep up?” Ark asks him.
“I will do it.” Emnos says with a smile.
“Who helped you before, Morrigan?” Ark asks me.
“Cu Chulainn.” I say as a tear falls down my face, he gives me a sad smile.
“Want me to do it, Morrigan?” Emnos asks me.
“I guess, if you do not mind.” I say with a frown. “How long until Lucifer reincarnates?” I ask them.
“Three hundred ninety-nine years.” Emnos says to me with a smile.
“What have you tried to keep time?” Ark asks me.
“I have tried to see what people like doing, so I could use it to keep time. Reading books is not okay.” I say with sad smile.
“I will help you, Morrigan.” Emnos says to me as he offers me his hand and I take it. We vanish and Dhuna’s room appears around us, fear bubbles up inside me as I stare at the bed.
“Not a good idea, Emnos.” Dhuna says to him as he points at me, Emnos turns me away from the bed. “It is interesting that time is that stagnant to her.” Dhuna says as he stands and watches me. “When did I keep you prisoner?” Dhuna asks me.
“Before I became a Goddess and met Lucifer.” I say to him.
“Do you know how many years ago that was?” He asks me with a frown.
“No.” I say to him.
“It was about eight hundred years ago, Morrigan.” He says with a sad smile.
“It doesn’t feel that long ago.” I say with a frown.
“That does explain why she has had a hard time getting over it.” Dhuna says with a frown. “To her it happened more or less a few days ago.” He adds.
“That is what it feels like.” I say with a sad smile.
“Did Vhaanth tell you of a way to get rid of this?” He asks me.
“Yeah, but he said it was a bad idea.” I say with a laugh.
“What was it, Morrigan?” Emnos asks me with a frown.
“Father Time.” I say to them and they both glare at me.
“I hate him.” They both say at the same time, and I laugh.
“Well, you have two choices, Morrigan. I leave it up to you, I help you with time by staying with you, or you go to Father Time.” Emnos says to me with a smile.
“Really, Emnos? You are going to take advantage of this?” Dhuna asks him with a glare.
“She has the choice of him.” Emnos says with a grin.
“I am not sure which is the right choice though. If I go to Father Time, I will not know if I will get out in time to fight Lucifer. If I go with you, then I have to deal with your groping.” I say as I frown at Emnos.
