“I prefer you talk to me, not my demigod.” The man says as he grins at me. “She is just as beautiful as you described, Cu Chulainn.” He says as he looks down at my dress, swords appear in my hands as I glare at him, he smiles as he stands as swords appear in his hands. “You will find I am not as easy as Lucifer, love.” He says as he leaps towards me with his swords raised, I dodge the attack as I swing a blade around, pain shoots through me. I feel the pain in my magic and my back, I look down to see one of wings on the ground before it vanishes.
“I did not know those could be chopped off.” Cu Chulainn says with a laugh, I jump away from the man as pain continues to shoot through me, I feel the power slipping away from me as I watch him.
“The other is fading away.” The man says as he watches me with a smirk.
“Who are you?” I ask him.
“The new leader of Carnage’s creations, I am Satan.” He says with a smile as he gives me a small bow. “I believe you have some things of mine, that have run away from home. If you do not send them back, I will destroy your tiny kingdom.” He says with a grin. “Afterwards, come back to me. I want to work on that agreement you had with Lucifer, it needs some work.” He says as he watches the remaining wing on my back vanish.
“You have no choice in this.”
I killed Lucifer; I can kill him too.
“He is not Lucifer; he is much stronger than you. He has let everything live in peace waiting for you to waken. Do not anger him, he can destroy everything if you do.”
He killed Emnos and Dhuna.
“They incited the fight.”
“When I give an order, I expect it to be followed. Stop talking to your creator and fetch my Gods.” Satan says angrily as he glares down at me, I look up at him and vanish, my throne room appears around me.
“Goddess Morrigan! Are you okay, you are bleeding?” The seneschal yells as he runs to me, I turn to look up at him.
“Get the Gods that live here and bring them to me, quickly.” I say quietly, he nods and runs out of the room. I walk over to the throne and sit down as pain continues to shoot through my back, I look up when I feel someone appear in the room. Vhaanth gives me a sad look.
“I take it you have met Satan?” He asks me.
“He cut off one of my wings.” I say to him, I see fear in his eyes.
“I didn’t know that was possible.” He says quietly.
“Neither did I.” I say as I glance behind me at the cut down my back, Vhaanth walks over to me and looks at my back.
“I can see where it was cut from you, I will try to heal it.” He says quietly, I feel magic pour into me to heal the wound and pain shoots through me, I grab his arm. I feel the magic stop as he frowns. “He used to same magic that Lucifer used, you cannot be healed.” He says as he steps away from me, I hear running footsteps. I look over to see the seneschal returning with Carnage’s Gods, they look at me with fear.
“You are being called back by your new leader, return immediately. I will drag you back myself if I have to, my humans have been threatened if you do not return.” I say as I glare at them, they nod as they look down at the floor, I watch as they vanish.
“Are you okay, Goddess Morrigan?” The seneschal asks me with concern on his face.
“I will be fine, seneschal. I have been called to meet with the leader of the other Gods. I do not think I will be returning any time soon, please continue taking care of the kingdom.” I say quietly as I watch him, he nods.
“Want me to go with you, Morrigan?” Vhaanth asks me.
“No, I will not take the chance of them killing you. Go home.” I say to him as I use the arm of the throne to stand.
“Thank you for everything you will probably sacrifice for the Gods and humans.” Vhaanth says quietly, the seneschal looks at him with sorrow on his face.
“This time I am not telling anyone, the last thing I want is more attention.” I say with a laugh, Vhaanth gives me a sad smile.
“I will wait for your return, Goddess Morrigan.” The seneschal says with a bow, I vanish Carnage’s throne room appearing around me, I look over at Satan’s smirk.
“You follow orders better than I thought you would, Morrigan.” Satan says as he walks over to me.
“I told you, threaten humans and she will do anything you say.” Cu Chulainn says as he walks up beside Satan.
“Is this what this is about? I gave you up for humans?” I ask him and he glares at me. “So, that is it. Even for you this is pathetic, Cu Chulainn.” I say with a smirk, pain shoots through my face as I hit the ground.
“You need to learn your place in this new world you have woke up in.” Cu Chulainn says to me angrily, I look up at him from the floor with a smile.
“I know what it is, I am a Goddess you are just a demigod, your only function is to serve.” I say to him as I stand up.
Babd?
“Your demigod is dead, I killed her.” Cu Chulainn says with a grin, I glare at him as I feel a sword appear in my hand, I swing it to kill him the sound of metal hitting metal rings out in the room as Satan’s sword appears between us.
“I applaud you on your feelings towards your demigod, but I must ask you leave mine intact.” Satan says to me as his blue eyes glow. “Unless you want to lose that arm again, you will not regain it this time.” He says with a smile, I let the sword vanish.
“What did you want to talk about regarding the agreement?” I ask him quietly.
“I prefer to do that in private, God to Goddess.” Satan says with a smile as he touches my shoulder and we vanish, Lucifer’s room appears around us. Satan motions to the chair I sat in when I was last here, I walk to the chair and sit down. He smiles as he sits across from me in the other chair, he pours tea into the cup sitting in front of me and offers me sugar, I shake my head and he places it back into the bowl.
“You are a very quiet person; from everything I have heard of you I was expecting more.” Satan says as he leans back into the chair as he picks up his cup watching me.
“What were you expecting? Yelling, protesting, arguing, stubbornness?” I ask as I pick up the cup and smell the tea, it smells fruity.
“Yes.” He says with a laugh after sipping the tea.
“Best way to gauge your enemy is not to draw attention to yourself, you watch them.” I say quietly as I raise the cup to my mouth, I watch him as I sip the tea.
“In the time I have waited for you to wake up, I have done everything in my power to learn everything about you. I even read the book wrote by an anonymous author of everything you have done.” He says with a small smile. “Is that book true?” He asks me with a frown.
“If it is wrote by who I believe wrote it, yes, it is. I gave him all my memories, he threatened me with writing a book about me.” I say with a frown as I look down at the tea, he laughs.
“In the book it says you do not like to be acknowledged for what you have done. Is it the same one who created the statues? All knowledge of the creator has been lost to the ages.” He asks me with a grin.
“Yes, the first one he made is in my city.” I say quietly.
“Cu Chulainn believes it is an immortal called Myrddin. Is this true?” He asks me as he watches me.
“I prefer not to name the person, it is my duty to protect.” I say as I frown at him.
“The person is no danger from me, I am just curious.” He says with a smirk.
“I will not say.” I say as I glare at him and he nods.
“I understand, you do not trust me. I would not either if I was in your position.” He says with a smile.
“What did you want to talk about regarding the agreement?” I ask him quietly after I sip more of the tea.
“You like getting straight to the point. The old agreement is out, the Gods and the humans are safe as long as you do not interfere with anything we do, and Cu Chulainn stays at your side to make sure you are on your best behavior.” He says as he watches me, anger rises in me as I listen to his words.
“I do not want him anywhere near me.” I say quietly as I reign my anger in.
“That is not negotiable, I can watch through his eyes to make sure you are not being hostile in anyway.” Satan says with a frown. “It is either that or you stay here, so I know your Gods behave themselves. I have already had to kill a few while you were sleeping.” He says angrily.
“Who all did you kill?” I ask him as I look at him.
“Emnos, Dhuna, Theros, Ark, Ante, Edur, and Aurelia.” He says as he watches me, I hold back the tears threatening to fall from my eyes. “So, which is it? You a prisoner here or under a watchful eye in your own kingdom?” He asks me. “If you kill Cu Chulainn our agreement is at an end, and I will march across this world killing everything in my path.” He says as he glares at me.
“I will take him.” I say quietly as I look away from him.
“Good, I prefer not to keep prisoners. They can be troublesome, Vhaanth caused enough problems while he was here.” He says with a frown as I look back at him, Cu Chulainn appears beside him with a grin down at me. “You may go.” Satan says to me with a smile.
“I have a question about him staying.” I say to him, he lifts an eyebrow.
“Do I have to let him stay in my room, or can I give him a room of his own?” I ask him.
“If he is in his own room, he cannot watch you.” Satan says with a smile, I stand as Cu Chulainn walks over to me I feel his hand on my shoulder as we vanish. My throne room appears around me I see the seneschal running to me with a smile until he sees my face.
“Goddess Morrigan, do you require anything?” He asks me quietly.
“You said there were petitions, send them in please.” I say to him as I walk to the throne, Cu Chulainn follows me. I sit down and lay back on the throne, as I hear him run out of the room, feeling a different kind of exhaustion, pain shoots through my back and I flinch as I sit up.
“Satan says that will be healed in a week.” Cu Chulainn says to me from behind the throne. “Another scar to add to your collection.” He says to me, I watch Vhaanth appear in front of me, he looks at Cu Chulainn and back to me with a frown.
“Cu Chulainn will be staying with me to make sure we do not try anything that would break the agreement.” I say to him.
“Yes, Goddess Morrigan. If you need anything call for me.” Vhaanth says as he bows and vanishes. I watch as the humans stream into the room the seneschal walks up to me and glances up at Cu Chulainn.
“Goddess Morrigan, may I ask who he is?” The seneschal asks me quietly.
“Demigod to the leader of the other Gods, he is here to make sure the agreement is honored.” I say to him, he nods and moves to the side of the throne. I listen to complaints from the humans, everything from the mundane, to ridiculous, to important I fix all of the problems they bring to me.
I motion to the seneschal; he moves closer to me. “Is there anything else that requires my attention?” I ask him, he shakes his head with a frown. “I am going to my mansion, then.” I say as I stand.
“You are not allowed, Morrigan.” Cu Chulainn says behind me, I turn to look at him with a frown.
“Why?” I ask him.
“In your mansion you have all the power, you could block me from talking to Satan. You could also get rid of my ability to defend myself and to vanish, he says you are to stay in the palace.” Cu Chulainn says with a smile, the seneschal watches us.
“I can heal faster in the mansion.” I say angrily.
“You will heal in a week here, I think a little pain is not going to bother you too much.” He says with a smirk.
“Goddess Morrigan, I can get a healer to come and patch up your back with bandages.” The seneschal says quietly.
“Thank you, seneschal. Have them meet me in my room.” I say quietly, he nods and runs out of the room. I walk across the throne room, I walk through the hallways as I look at all the guards patrolling through the castle. I open the door to my room and walk in, a woman walk in through the maid’s door with a bag, she bows to me before she walks over to me and examines my back.
“I will need you to remove this, Goddess Morrigan.” She says quietly as she looks over at Cu Chulainn. “If you would give the Goddess some privacy, sir.” She says to him.
“I will not see anything I have not seen before.” He says with a laugh as he leans against the doors. I unlatch the band around my throat letting the back of the dress fall as I hold up the front, as I sit on the stool.
“That is perfect, Goddess Morrigan.” She says to me as she rubs my arm.
“You should have the dress cleaned; it is covered in blood. Old and new.” Cu Chulainn says as he frowns at me.
“I would prefer it if you do not make any suggestions to me. Your opinion holds no value to me, Cu Chulainn.” I say as I flinch from the woman’s hands, he glares down at me. I feel her clean it thoroughly as I clench my teeth through the pain, I feel a cold sensation as she rubs something over the cut. She has me turn on the stool with my back to Cu Chulainn, she then wraps a cloth around my torso after placing bandages onto the cut. Once she is done, she lifts up the back of the dress and latches it back together for me. “Thank you, ma’am.” I say to her and she smiles down at me as she picks her bag up.
“I will come back to see you again in a few days, Goddess Morrigan.” She says as she bows to me and leaves through the maid’s door. I stand and walk over to the bed, I lay down to stare out the balcony door, I hear footsteps.
“Do not get on my bed, I will set it on fire with you on it.” I say quietly, the footsteps stop, I close my eyes and fall to sleep.
I open my eyes to see hazel eyes staring down at me, I glare at him as I sit up and swing my legs over the side of the bed. “I would prefer you stay on the opposite side of the room while I sleep.” I say as I stand up making my way over to the wardrobe.
“It is a good thing I do not have to obey your wishes then.” Cu Chulainn says as he watches me brush my hair.
“Was it your idea or his for you to be here?” I ask him as I finish brushing my hair.
“It was a joint decision.” He says as I place the brush back into the wardrobe closing the door afterwards.
“For some reason I do not believe you.” I say as I vanish, the throne room appearing around me, I walk over to the throne and sit down as he appears glaring at me. “When did you betray your new Goddess? Before or after Satan killed her?” I ask him.
“Before, it is why Vhaanth, Ark, and Theros made you use enough power to put you to sleep. I guess Creation wanted you to sleep through what was happening so you would not die with them.” He says with a grin.
Is that true?
“Yes.”
I am tired of you.
“Morrigan, I did it for your own good.”
Do not speak to me again.
“I am guessing from the look on your face I am right.” Cu Chulainn says with a laugh.
“I wonder what went wrong that made you turn into what you are.” I say quietly as I watch him.
“Following a Goddess, I thought I knew, and being betrayed by her because she put humans above me. Morrigu would have never done that.” He says as glares down at me.
“You used to enjoy how much I cared about them.” I say with a frown.
“That was fine until it forced you to abandon me.” He says angrily. “I worshipped the ground you walked on; you were everything to me! Then you threw me to the side for a thing that lives its entire life in the blink of an eye!” He yells angrily as he glares down at me.
“They deserve happiness too.” I say quietly as I turn to look at the seneschal watching us, he walks over to me slowly. “Stand in your place, Cu Chulainn I am done with this conversation.” I say to him as the seneschal gives me a sad smile.
“You have more petitions, Goddess Morrigan.” He says quietly as he looks down at the paper in his hand.
“Send them in seneschal.” I say to him and he nods, he walks out of the room. I sit on the throne watching the clouds move in the sky through the windows, I hear footsteps and I look over to see him leading the humans into the room. He walks over to me with a small smile before he turns to them to call the first name.
“Greg Bohert.” He calls out, a man walks onto the platform, I see claw marks I recognize on his face, it has blinded him in one of his eyes.
“I thought the creatures would not attack humans, Cu Chulainn.” I say angrily as I watch the man.
“Must be a freelance one, some do not obey.” He says behind me.
“What is your town called?” I ask the man angrily; he bows to me.
“Huntsman.” He says quietly. “It has almost killed everyone there, a few of us escaped and came here to find a home.” He says as he stays in the bow.
“Seneschal give him and the people with him rooms in the palace, I will be right back.” I say angrily as my eyes glow, I feel my swords appear and I vanish. The town appears around me; I feel Cu Chulainn appear behind me. “Do not help me, I do not want it.” I say angrily as I look back to glare at him, he crosses his arms as he frowns at me. I send out a wave of magic through the town to find the Drowned, it is in one of the houses. I change and fly through the window of the house, I see it eating the remains of a desiccated corpse, I slice with both blades chopping its arms off. It screams as it falls to the floor rolling over to look up at me with anger, I see its legs move to kick me, I slice the legs off listening to its scream of rage and pain. I watch it squirm in pain with a grin, it glares at me as it clicks at me, I place the point of my blade on its chest. I slowly press down on the sword watching it squirm and scream in pain until my blade runs it through killing it.
I vanish, the throne room appearing around me. I sit back down on the throne as I feel Cu Chulainn appear behind the throne, the swords vanish from my hands. I look over at the seneschal and he calls the next name. The rest of the petitions are normal, and I handle all the problems they bring to me, making all the humans happier, once all of them has left the room the seneschal comes closer to me with a frown.
“What is it seneschal?” I ask him as I watch him.
“There was a note in the last seneschal’s records that served you while you were awake, I wanted to ask you about it.” He says quietly.
“What?” I ask him.
“He wrote that you cannot distinguish time.” He says as his frown deepens. “What does he mean by that?” He asks me.
“It means that I can go for a walk, to me it will only be for a day. To the rest of the world, it can be weeks, months, years.” I say to him. “I do not detect the passage of time at all, I only see events that happen, not the time they happened.” I say to him with a sad smile.
“No walks for you then.” He says with a small laugh as he gives me an uneasy smile.
“I have been ordered to keep her present, so she cannot pass time by wandering off.” Cu Chulainn says to him from behind me.
“I had also read about it in that book someone wrote about you. Is everything in that book true?” The seneschal asks me.
“Yes, it is.” I say quietly, he hugs me.
“Thank you, Goddess Morrigan.” He whispers before he lets me go. “I am proud to serve you.” He says with a sad smile.
“Is there anything else you need from me today, seneschal?” I ask him.
“No, Goddess Morrigan.” He says quietly.
“I am going for a walk through the city to see all the changes in the time I have been gone.” I say as I stand and walk out of the throne room, I feel Cu Chulainn follow. As soon as I walk to the open doors of the palace I notice the changes right away, the city has expanded as far as the eye can see. I walk through the city, humans bowing as I pass before continuing what they were doing, I large townhouses taking up one portion of the city on my right smaller less grand houses take up the entire area around me and to the left, I walk through the streets happy to see how much they have flourished. I make my way down the street that used to be a small road that leads to my mansion, I look around at all the shops that line the street all of them busy with customers. I finally see the mansion in the distance as I walk down the street, to see more large town houses built up around it.
“Are you done looking at your humans?” Cu Chulainn asks me from behind me, I vanish my room appears around me I walk over to the balcony and look down at the garden below me as I feel him appear in the room. “I prefer you take me with you when you vanish.” He says angrily behind me.
“I prefer not to touch you.” I say quietly as I breathe in deeply smelling the ocean breeze.
“He can make it a requirement.” Cu Chulainn says angrily.
“Until he does, I will not touch you.” I say quietly, I feel someone appear in the room behind him, I glance back to see Satan who smiles at me, and I look back at the garden.
“Leave us, Cu Chulainn.” Satan says to him, I feel him vanish I turn to watch Satan as he walks toward me. “You need to try to be a little more cooperative.” Satan says with a smile as he reaches out to me, I smack his hand away.
“I am being cooperative, and I must ask that you do not touch me.” I say quietly.
“I was told you have a fear of being touched.” Satan says with a grin.
“Now it only pisses me off, try it again and I will show you uncooperative I can be.” I say as I glare at him, he laughs as he watches me.
“This is what I was expecting, you do have a fire in you. I am curious as to how big it is.” He says his grin widens as he walks towards me with his hands reaching out to me, I feel him grab my hips and pull me to him. I unleash all my rage into my magic as I send an electrical current through my body and watch as he is thrown from me. I watch him get up laughing as he walks back to me.
“Big enough fire for you?” I ask him with a glare, as he grins at me.
“I think we will have a long beneficial relationship, as long as you keep doing what I ask.” He says with a laugh.
“Do you have something new to request of me?” I ask as I cross my arms.
“Not yet, love.” He says with a wink and vanishes, Cu Chulainn appears in the room again with a glare at me, I turn back to look at the gardens.
I am pulled out of my thoughts by a knock on the door, I look around to see the moon has risen, I walk into the room as Cu Chulainn opens the door and I see Myrddin. He glares at Cu Chulainn, I feel magic rise in him as I walk into the room. “Myrddin, no.” I say to him, he looks over at me with a frown. “Sit down, and I will explain.” I say to with a small smile, he walks over and sits on the bed in front of me as he crosses his arms with a frown.
“There is a new leader of Carnage’s Gods, Cu Chulainn is his demigod. He is here to make sure I honor our agreement.” I say to him.
“Where is Emnos?” He asks quietly.
“Dead.” I say quietly.
“Dhuna?” He asks me.
“Dead.” I say quietly.
“Why are there bandages wrapped around you?” He asks me.
“One of my wings was cut off.” I say quietly as I look at the floor.
“Are you even able to summon the other anymore?” He asks me, I hear anger in his voice.
“I have not tried.” I say quietly as I feel tears in my eyes.
“Try.” He says angrily, I look up into his eyes to see a storm of rage inside them, I let my anger loose and I access the power, I feel my eyes glow, pain shoots through me as I collapse into the wall behind me. I feel Myrddin helping me to my feet, I see Cu Chulainn smirking as he watches us.
“I guess I lost that.” I say quietly, Myrddin sets me on the bed as he turns Cu Chulainn.
“I want to speak to your owner.” Myrddin says angrily.
“He does not speak to humans.” Cu Chulainn says with a grin, Cu Chulainn falls to his knees in pain, he glares up at Myrddin as he clenches his jaws.
“I think he will speak to me, unless he enjoys having his demigod in pain.” Myrddin says with a smile, Satan appears beside Cu Chulainn glaring at Myrddin, I see Cu Chulainn relax the pain coming to an end.
“Who are you?” Satan asks him as he watches Myrddin.
“Her son, are you the one who cut off her wing?” Myrddin asks him.
“Yes, she was trying to attack. I defended myself.” Satan says with a smirk.
“Get rid of the magic that keeps her from being healed.” Myrddin says angrily.
“Or what, immortal?” Satan asks him, Myrddin holds up a hand and Cu Chulainn collapses to his knees and hands, a restrained scream comes out of him.
“Do it.” Myrddin says with a smile.
“Answer a question first.” Satan says with a smile, Myrddin drops his hand and Cu Chulainn collapses to the floor breathing hard. “Are you the one who wrote the book and made the statues of her?” Satan asks him, Myrddin laughs.
“That is all you want to know? Yes, it was me.” Myrddin says to him, Satan holds up a hand to me and I feel his magic inside me.
“Why did you do it?” Satan asks him.
“Because humans deserve to know.” Myrddin says to him.
“Even though you knew it made her unhappy?” Satan asks him.
“She is strange.” Myrddin says with a small smile.
“Thank you for the information, and thank you Morrigan for the leverage.” Satan says with a grin as I feel someone appearing, I run towards Myrddin as Beelzebub appears and grabs Myrddin and vanishes.
“Please do not hurt him.” I say as I fall to my knees, tears forming in my eyes as I look up at him, Satan grins down at me.
“Your son, I did not know you had children. I wonder why he left that part out. Do everything I want you to, and he will remain untouched, it is amazing what immortals can survive through.” He says as he watches me. “Behave, and you will not have to find out.” Satan says and vanishes.
“He knew what was going to happen, he came anyway. He wants your wing to grow back.”
I hate you.
“Heal yourself.”
I reach out to the magic and heal the wound on my back, I feel the power return as the wing returns.
“If you go to where the Gods are buried you can become powerful enough to kill him, all of the remains of the past versions of yourself hold power you can absorb.”
How with that thing following me?
“I can put him in a trance that will see you laying on the bed crying. Since that is what they expect you to do.”
Let me know when it is done.
“I have also blocked them from sensing you vanish. Go.”
I vanish to the grave that has my name on it, I pull the magic as I focus on all the graves around me, I watch as all the dirt raises and vanishes. I look down into the hole beside me to see a wooden casket, I slide down into the hole and open it to see a skeleton. I touch the skeleton and I feel power surge into me. I do the same to each and every grave in the portion of the graveyard set aside for me, I climb back out of the last hole as I reach out to the magic and dirt falls into the holes covering the graves back up.
Am I more powerful than him now?
“You are about the same, like it was with Lucifer.”
Am I going to survive this?
“Do you want the truth?”
I always do, you just never want to tell me.
“No, you will not.”
Does that mean I will be dead when Lucifer returns and the Fomorian war starts?
“Yes, you have a choice. Kill Satan now, save Myrddin, die and the world suffers for it. Or, wait until Lucifer returns and kill them both and save Myrddin and the world.”
And die.
“Yes. Which do you choose? I need to know so I know what I need to do.”
I will wait, I would make a lie out of everything Myrddin believes me to be if I did not.
“He hoped you would make that choice. Vanish when I tell you to.”
“Yes, Creation.”
“Now.”
I vanish back to the room and lay down on the bed staring out at the balcony as I wipe away the tears that are not there, I look over at Cu Chulainn who grins at me, I look back out at the balcony and close my eyes.
“You did good. Whenever you want to talk to me close your eyes.”
I will, how many years until the Gods and my demigods return to me?
“Macha will be back in two hundred years, Emnos and Dhuna in three hundred, the rest in three hundred fifty.”
Two hundred until Lucifer?
“Yes. I also have hidden your extra power from them, do your best to keep it in check.”
I feel a hand on my arm, I open my eyes and look up to see Cu Chulainn, I glare at him. “What do you want?” I ask him angrily.
“Seneschal says there has been more attacks.” He says to me with a frown, I slap his hand away and sit up, I stand and vanish to the throne room. I see humans with bloody clothes on, some of them are being held up by others. I hold my hand up and send my magic into them healing them as I feel Cu Chulainn appear behind me. “It just became a requirement.” He whispers into my ear, as I lower my hand.
“Towns?” I ask them.
“We came from the same town, Goddess Morrigan. It is Raven.” The woman says with a grateful smile, I turn to look at Cu Chulainn who grins at me.
“Touching me used to be easy to you.” He whispers to me, I glare at him as I touch his shoulder with a finger and we vanish. The town appears around us, I hear screams in the distance.
“Do not want your help.” I say to him as I change, I fly up into the air and send out a pulse for the creatures, I find them on the road attacking travelers. I dive towards them, changing before I reach them with swords in my hands, I slice through the creature cutting it in half, the other four turn their attention on me. I dodge the first attack, cutting through its skull as I do, I feel the magic warn me, I turn to move as fangs sink into my arm and claws dig into my neck. I use my free hand to decapitate the one on my arm, I let the sword vanish in my left hand as I reach up and grab the creature by its loose skin. I feel claws shred through my neck as it digs in, I throw it off me slicing it as it flies through the air, I feel blood pouring down my neck as I feel dizziness set in. I fall to my knee as I see the human run to me, I feel a hand around my neck, as I feel the world fading around me. I close my eyes, as I feel myself lifted up and we vanish as I feel my consciousness fade.
I open my eyes and look around to see my room, I sit up on the bed. “Still do not want my help?” I hear him ask me.
“No, I do not.” I say quietly.
“Why are you so stubborn?” He asks me angrily.
“Because I can.” I say as I look over at him, he glares at me.
“Satan can make you let me help you.” Cu Chulainn says as he glares at me.
“Until he does, I do not want you to.” I say as I stand up, I walk over to him and raise a finger to touch him, he grabs me and pulls me against him.
“I prefer vanishing to be more enjoyable.” He says as he looks down at me with a grin, I gather the magic inside me. “Satan also says no more magical deterrents for touching.” He whispers in my ear as he leans to me, I let the magic go as we vanish. The throne room appears around us, he looks down at me with a smile as I feel the hand on my back slide down to my bottom.
“Take your hand off me.” I say quietly, he squeezes my bottom and stands back with a grin. I walk over to the throne to see the seneschal glaring at Cu Chulainn, I sit down on the throne. The seneschal walks over to me with a frown. “Is there anything you need me to do?” I ask him.
“Nothing today, Goddess Morrigan. You really should clean your dress; people are going to be afraid of you.” He says quietly, I look down at my dress to see it is almost completely black from dried blood.
“I cannot be alone.” I say quietly, he looks over at Cu Chulainn.
“I think I can fix that for you, I will be back soon.” He says quietly and runs out of the room. I lay back on the throne as I wait, watching the clouds pass by outside the window.
I look over when I hear footsteps to see the seneschal with a smile on his face. “Please follow me, Goddess Morrigan.” The seneschal says with a bow, I stand and he leads me through the hallways to the door for the bath, he opens the door and motions me inside. I see maids standing around the bath holding sheets up to block the view of the bath. “There are maids inside to help you bathe and change, the demigod can stay in the room without seeing anything.” He says with a grin, I smile up at him.
“You are a mastermind, seneschal.” I whisper to him, he laughs as I walk into the room, Cu Chulainn follows me inside, I look back at him to see him frown at the maids. I walk between the sheets, maids surround me taking the dress, and the sleeves off me. A few in bathing clothes leads me into the water, they scrub all the blood and dirt off me. Once they are done, they lead back out of the water and dry me off before dressing me in a normal dress.
“The dress will be clean in a few hours, Goddess Morrigan. We will redress you once it is done.” The maid brushing my hair whispers to me.
“Thank you.” I whisper to her, she leans around me to look at me with a grin, and I laugh. Once she is done, the sheets come down Cu Chulainn looks at me with a frown as I stand, I walk out of the room and he follows.
“Why did they do all that?” He asks me as he follows me.
“So, I can have privacy.” I say to him as I smile.
“I have already seen your body, what is the point?” He asks.
“Because I do not want you to see it again.” I say as I open the door to my room and walk in, I go over to the balcony and lean on the stone railing as I look up at the sky. The sun is setting making the clouds turn into beautiful shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, blue and purple the clouds look like they had been painted onto the sky with a brush.
“Miss flying?” He asks me, he sounds close to me.
“Yes, I do. Right now, would be the perfect time to fly, but I cannot go.” I say as I watch the clouds. “The funny thing is, you were the one that told me that I was meant to be free. Yet here you are keeping me chained.” I say quietly.
“Satan says you can fly, as long as you stay close.” Cu Chulainn says to me.
“It is not really flying if I am not free to go where I want.” I say quietly as I smile at the sky, I turn away from the balcony and walk past him and lay down on the bed, I close my eyes and go to sleep.
I roll over and open my eyes to see hazel eyes watching me, I glare at him as I sit up. “I thought I said do not get on my bed.” I say as I swing my legs off the bed and stand up.
“Satan says you are not allowed to do anything to the bed.” He says with a laugh.
“Next thing will be ‘Satan says you have to lie still and let him have his way with you’.” I say angrily as I slam the door open on the wardrobe and pick up the brush, turning to glare at him.
“He is not one for that type of thing.” Cu Chulainn says with a frown.
“Forgive me for not believing you, I have had too many captors say they wouldn’t do that. Just to end up doing it anyways.” I say angrily as I turn to the mirror and angrily brush my hair. Once I am done I throw the brush into the wardrobe and slam the door closed, I glare over at him before kicking the doors of my room open and walking down the hallway, I hear him run to catch up with me. “What is it now? Satan says I am not allowed to take my anger out on my own belongings?” I ask angrily as I keep walking.
“He has nothing to say.” Cu Chulainn says quietly. I walk to the throne room door and throw it open causing the seneschal to jump, I walk to the throne and sit down, the seneschal runs over to me.
“Anything today?” I ask him as I restrain my anger so I do not take it out on him.
“No, Goddess Morrigan. Your dress is ready though, so if you want, I can set up the bath for them to change you.” He says with an uneasy smile.
“Yes, please. I hate wearing any dress but that one.” I say quietly.
“Is it because that dress is armor?” Cu Chulainn asks me with a grin.
“Yes, it is. Anything else I am exposed.” I say as I glare at him.
