This time I pay attention to the days that have passed by the activities of the sorceresses, thirty-six thousand days have passed since I returned. Every day spent fighting and making my magic stronger.
I feel someone appear in the room, I look up from where I sit on the floor, all the sorceresses are sleeping. I see Adam smiling at me, he walks over to me. “Have you slept at all?” Adam asks me as he sits on the floor beside me.
“No, though it is getting harder to stay awake. I refuse to sleep.” I say angrily as I stare at the floor.
“Why?” Adam asks me.
“Because I am afraid if I do, Emnos will get me.” I say as I look up at him.
“You could sleep on Creation’s altar.” Adam says with a frown.
“I don’t know where that is.” I say with a sad smile.
“Want me to take you? She will protect you while you sleep.” Adam says with a grin, I nod and he helps me stand, I feel us vanish. Large stones standing upright appear around us on the edge of a stone in the shape of a circle, a large stone slab sits in the center of the circle it floats just above the circle. “Lay on the slab, she will protect you.” Adam says with a smile down at me, I let go of him and walk to the floating slab. I touch it and I feel magic inside it.
“Hello, Morrigan.”
Creation?
“Yes, lay on the slab. No one will be able to touch you.”
Thank you.
I lay down on the slab, I feel something sliding across my hand to see a vine growing up around me splitting into more vines.
“Do not worry, these vines will protect you. They will cover you up.”
I close my eyes as I feel the vines wrap around me in a cocoon, and I feel myself fall into a deep sleep, as I feel Adam vanish.
I open my eyes as I wake up to see vines, memories flood my mind as I remember Creation covering me with vines to protect me, I sit up feeling the vines fall off me. I look around to see Vhaanth sitting on a stone watching me with a smile, I slide off the slab and run over to him with a grin on my face.
“Good morning, Morrigan.” Vhaanth says with a laugh as I hug him.
“How long did I sleep?” I ask him with my face pressed against his chest.
“According to Adam, you have slept six hundred years. The world has changed a lot.” Vhaanth says as he smiles down at me.
“Emnos?” I ask him with a frown as I step away from him.
“He has collected a few demigods, when he tried to rip the vines off you Creation caused him pain to make him stop. So, he gave up trying to get to you. Though keep in mind, now that you are awake, he may start up again.” Vhaanth says as he frowns at me, I feel his magic probe mine. “You have mastered all the magic, how?” He asks me with a grin.
“Not sure, I trained with the sorceresses. But I didn’t think I had mastered the magic yet.” I say with a small smile.
“Creation wants you to touch the slab.” He says to me as he leads me over to the slab again, I touch the slab again.
“I am creating a link between us so I can speak to you at all times.”
Why?
“There are things I need you to do.”
I feel magic surge through me I see a link appear in the magic inside me, the magic makes me feel like I am standing in the warmth of the sun as it forms.
“It is finished, I need you to return to your kingdom.”
Why? There is nothing there.
“Best if you do as she asks, Morrigan.” Vhaanth says as he gives me a small smile, I frown at him.
“Why?” I ask him.
“Creation knows best, everything she has you do is good for the world and everything she has created. She doesn’t care for explaining herself.” Vhaanth says with a laugh.
“I have a feeling this is going to be irritating.” I say angrily, I vanish the dark castle appears around me. I walk through the hallways; I sense no sign of life inside them.
“Use your magic on the wall, let it fill the palace.”
I do as she says, I feel the magic inside me fading from inside me as I do it, the castle brightens up around me as magic feeds into it. I fall against the wall feeling weak from lack of magic, I feel someone appear I look up to see glowing violet eyes watching me.
He is going to capture me.
“Run away.”
Not sure I can.
I stand up leaning against the wall as I watch him walk closer, I turn away from him as I push against the wall and run as fast as I can. I see my bedroom door ahead of me, I crash into the doors and open them as I glance behind me to see him still walking towards me, I close the doors and I feel the room seal with Creation’s magic.
“Lay on the bed and rest, you have some time before he breaks through.”
I do as she says collapsing on the bed as soon as I reach it, I feel the magic slowly returning as I listen to him beating on the door.
How am I going to escape once he gets through?
“For us to work together I need your trust, Morrigan. Questioning everything is not trust.”
I do not have enough reasons to trust you, I do not know you. I also do not believe in blindly following orders.
“I will give you a choice then. Follow me, or get caught by him. I will remove the barrier on the room and let him in if you choose not to follow.”
Not really giving me a choice.
“It is the only one you will get.”
I look over at the door that is starting to splinter from him beating on it.
I will follow.
“Good choice, go to the balcony in your room.”
I roll off the bed, and make my way to the balcony, I look back at the door to see a hole in it with glowing violet eyes watching me.
“Fly.”
I see him grab the door with both hands ripping it apart, I reach into the magic I watch as he runs towards me as I change and I fly away.
“Turn to the right, keep flying that way until you see a castle.”
I turn to the right and fly in the direction watching the ocean under me. I fly for several days before I see land again, a castle appearing a few hours after I am back over land again. I land on the ground outside the castle’s door changing back into my human form.
“Go inside, talk to the king. Tell him you are there to teach the boy.”
I walk into the castle, a guard looks down at me with a frown. “I need to see the king.” I say to him, he nods and leads me to the throne room. I see people standing in the center of the room talking to the King, I stand over to the side and lean against the wall as I watch.
“King Vortigern, we really need you to increase the wages for the workers. We cannot live on the amount we receive now.” The man at the head of the crowd says to him in a pleading voice.
“Denied, get out of here or I will have you flogged.” The king says as he glares at the man, I watch them as they walk out of the room. The king notices me and a vulgar grin creeps onto his face, he motions me over. I walk up to the square on the floor in front of the throne he sits on, I do my best to ignore the anger threatening to rise up in me as I watch him stare at my chest.
“Say the words.”
“King Vortigern, I am here to teach the boy.” I say to him and his eyes snap up to mine as his face turns into one of disgust.
“You are a sorceress?” He asks me angrily as he glares at me.
“Yes, my Lord.” I say with a curtsy.
“Fine, Marvin, take her to the child.” He says angrily as he motions to a man, the man walks over to me and motions for me to follow. He leads me through the castle and the hallways before stopping in front of a door, he opens it and motions for me to go inside. I walk into the room to see a boy who looks to be eight or nine looking up at me from the floor where he had been playing with toys, he has shaggy black hair and blue eyes.
“Hi, my name is Myrddin.” He says with a smile.
“Hello, my name is Morrigan.” I say as I smile down at him, I hear the door close behind me.
“Teach him, magic, kindness, understanding, sympathy. Above all this is also a lesson for you as well. Do not let your emotions control your magic, that is a lesson you both need to learn.”
“Do you have magic, Myrddin?” I ask him as I watch him return to playing with the toys.
“I don’t think I do.” He says as he frowns up at me.
“Do you mind if I take a look?” I ask him with a smile, he gets up off the floor and stands in front of me.
“Sure.” He says with a grin, I kneel down in front of him as I send magic into him, I feel his magic it is very weak. I pour some of my magic into his and watch it grow stronger.
“You do have magic, I helped it grow so you can use it.” I say with a smile.
“That is amazing, can I go shoot something with fireballs?” He asks me with a grin.
“I think we should start small, Myrddin. Try to make a small flame in your hand.” I say with a laugh, I watch him and a flame comes to life in the palm of his hand, he watches it with excitement in his eyes.
I teach him everything I have learned over the next four years, which keeping up with his age has helped me track the time that passes by. I enjoy watching him grow, and learn more with enthusiasm, I love him as if he is my own son. I had learned from some of the people who work in the castle that his parents had died, from unknown reasons, his uncle took over as King and raised him.
“You and Myrddin will be leaving soon, but you will not be able to stay with him where he is going.”
Why? I don’t want to leave him.
“Morrigan, you promised.”
This is not fair. I love him.
“I know you do, but he needs to learn to be able to live without you. You will see him again; you have things you need to do until then.”
He is a human, he will be an old man, on his death bed before I realize it.
“He will not die Morrigan. He has the gift of immortality.”
He is not a mortal?
“No, he is the guiding light of this world. That is why I had you teach him, if left under the control of his uncle he would have turned into a monster.”
May I ask where he is going?
“To an uncle that will continue teaching him how to be good.”
A knock on the door pulls me out of the conversation with Creation, I open it to see the King, he pushes past me into the room. “You will take Myrddin to his other uncle, it is too dangerous for him to be here anymore.” Vortigern says to me with a frown.
“Where am I taking him, exactly?” I ask him with a frown.
“I already have a ship ready, all you need to do is get on it with him. The guards will escort you under the cover of darkness.” He says angrily.
“Yes, my King.” I say to him with a curtsy, he pushes past me back out of the room. I see people running past the open door, I walk to Myrddin’s room and open it, I see a manservant packing his things, Myrddin is ready to go.
“Are you coming too, Morrigan?” Myrddin asks me with concern on his face.
“Yes, I am.” I say with a smile, he walks over to me and escorts me from the room.
“Good, I do not want Emnos to get his hands on you. I promised I would get strong enough to beat him.” Myrddin says with a glare on his face as he leads me down the stairs.
“I have told you I do not want you doing anything, I told you about me because I trust you.” I say as I frown over at him.
“But I want to protect you, Morrigan.” Myrddin says as he stops and looks into my eyes.
“I can take care of myself, Myrddin. I promise.” I say with a smile as I kiss him on the cheek.
“Do you know where we are going?” He asks me with a grin.
“Your other uncle, there is a ship ready to take us to him.” I say with a small smile, guards gather around us as we reach the bottom of the stairs and the manservant that had been packing Myrddin’s things joins us.
“Ready to go, Lady Morrigan?” One of the guards asks me, I nod to him, they lead us through a small stairwell in the castle that gets darker as we go. I hold on tightly to Myrddin’s arm as we go, wishing I could stay with him. The guards ahead of us open a door, I see it leads outside into the darkness, he walks out as an arrow punctures his neck. The guards around us rush forward to fight the attackers, I look ahead of them to see another door in the wall that surrounds the city they were leading us towards. I pull Myrddin down the rest of the stairs as I hear men screaming battle cries or death cries outside the open door, I motion for him to wait as I let go of him just inside the door. I run to the other door and open it, an arrow hits the wall beside me, I turn as blades appear in my hands another arrow comes towards me and I slice it in half.
“Run, Myrddin. Through the door, I will follow.” I say to him as my eyes glow, I feel him run past me as I slice through more arrows, the manservant runs after him and I follow closing the door behind me as the swords vanish.
“What the hell was that?” Myrddin asks as he looks down at my hands with a grin.
“One of those perks I told you about.” I say with a laugh, I grab his arm again and I lead him toward the ship in the distance.
We arrive at the ship in a few hours of walking, Myrddin helps me up onto it as the manservant throws his bag onto the ship and runs off into the woods near us. I reach down and take Myrddin’s hand and I help pull him onto the ship, I turn to see a group of men watching us. They do not look like the King’s soldiers.
“Are you the two we are transporting?” An older man asks me with a frown.
“Yes, we were attacked. The guards were not able to follow.” I say to him, as I look around at the grinning crew.
“Malley! Take these two to the cargo, the rest of you to your posts lets get this piece of shit going!” The older man yells to them, everyone springs into action as a man comes over to me and grabs my wrist dragging me down into the ship, with Myrddin being dragged by me. He takes us to a portion of the lower deck where boxes are stacked up and lets go of me, he frowns at Myrddin before walking off.
“I do not trust these men.” Myrddin whispers to me.
“We have nothing to worry about, I promise.” I whisper back to him as we sit on the floor, I feel someone appear on the lower deck with us. Fear shoots through me, I have not felt that in a long time. I get in front of Myrddin as I wait for the God to show themselves, the footsteps getting closer.
“Hello, Morrigan.” Vhaanth says as he comes around the corner to look at me with a smile.
“You could have announced yourself; I was terrified it was someone else.” I say angrily, and he laughs.
“Is this Myrddin?” He asks as he looks at him behind me, I stand up and move out of his view of Myrddin.
“Yes, he is. Myrddin this is Vhaanth.” I say with a smile at him as he stands up.
“The God of Death?” He asks me with a frown as he watches Vhaanth.
“Yes, he is not as terrifying as the name makes him seem.” I say with a laugh. “Why are you here Vhaanth?” I ask him as I look back over at him to see a sad smile on his face. “You are here to take me back.” I say quietly.
“I am taking both of you, but we are dropping him off.” Vhaanth says as he watches me.
“Why? This ship will take us there.” I ask him with a frown.
“There is about to be a mutiny, you are the cause.” Vhaanth says as he walks over to us and touches us both, we vanish. A village appears around us with a strange looking buildings, Vhaanth leads us through the village to a large building and we go inside, a large man with black hair and green eyes watches us with hatred.
“What are you doing here, Death?” The man asks angrily.
“Myrddin.” Vhaanth says as he pulls him in front of him, the man looks at Myrddin as pain appears in his eyes.
“Why do you have him?” He asks as he stands rage taking over again.
“Delivering him to you.” Vhaanth says as he backs up a step away from Myrddin.
“Then get the fuck out.” The man growls at him as he glares at Vhaanth.
“Can Morrigan stay with me?” Myrddin asks him.
“She is a demigod.” Vhaanth tells him, and the man glares at me with hatred.
“No.” He says to Myrddin, Myrddin turns to look at me with tears in his eyes, I open my arms out to him and he runs over to me and hugs me tightly, I hug him tighter.
“I will see you soon, I promise.” I whisper in his ear, I feel his head nod on my shoulder.
“I never said this to you Morrigan. But you are my mother. I love you.” Myrddin says as he pulls away from me and stares into my eyes with tears falling down his face.
“I love you too Myrddin, I think you as my child. I promise we will see each other again.” I say with a smile as I kiss his cheek.
“Then I will wait for you.” He says with a grin.
“We need to leave, Morrigan. They kill Gods here.” Vhaanth says quietly to me, I nod to him and I feel him touch my arm and we vanish. His room appears around us; I feel someone appear behind us, I turn to see Aiwass he grins at me.
“What do you want, Aiwass?” Vhaanth asks him angrily as he walks over to his chair and sits down, I feel arms wrap around my waist.
“I came to see if she is willing to say yes yet.” Aiwass says as I feel a kiss on my neck.
“No, go away.” I say angrily as I turn in his arms to glare at him.
“You will eventually say yes, I know it.” Aiwass says as he grins down at me, and vanishes.
“I really need to ask her what was the point in him.” I say angrily as I turn to look back at Vhaanth who laughs.
“Don’t bother, she avoids the question.” Vhaanth says with a grin.
“Lunatics aside, what am I doing here?” I ask him with a frown.
“You are here because you need to talk to someone about the kingdom you revived.” Vhaanth says with a smile.
“What about it?” I ask him.
“You need to prove to them you are Princess Morrigan, so you can take over the throne. Some random noble took it over while you were gone.” Vhaanth says with a frown.
“How do I go about that? And what makes you think I want to run it in the first place?” I ask him angrily.
“Do you want all those humans to suffer under the nobles rule? I figured after seeing how Vortigern is running his kingdom into the ground you would want to make a better place.” Vhaanth says as he watches me, I glare at him.
“Who do I talk to?” I ask him angrily, he smiles at me.
“Talk to the magistrate at your castle, show him all the pretty portraits of you.” Vhaanth says with a laugh, I vanish the castle appearing around me. I walk through the halls to the magistrate’s office, I open the door to see a middle aged man looking up as I walk in.
“How can I help you?” He asks as he looks up at me.
“I am Princess Morrigan, I demand the throne.” I say to him, he frowns at me as he leans back in his chair.
“Proof?” He asks me as he watches me, I look over at the portrait of me on the wall and I point to it with a glare back at him. He looks up at the picture and his frown deepens as he looks back and forth between the portrait and me. “What was your father’s name?” He asks me as he turns back to watch me.
“Avalon.” I say with a smile.
“If you are her, how are you still alive?” He asks me.
“I am a demigod.” I say to him and he laughs.
“I will have to ask you about the entire history, to make sure you are who you claim to be. Also have you prove you are a demigod.” He says with a small smile.
“That is fine.” I say to him with a smile. After a long questioning about the history of the kingdom, and me showing him my demigod abilities he leads me to my father’s bedroom. He knocks on the door, and I hear a voice telling us to come in.
I open the door to see a man with blonde hair standing up all over his head with two women naked in my father’s bed. I glare as I walk over to them.
“Who are you?” The noble asks me with a grin as he looks down at my dress.
“The new Queen, I am kicking you out.” I say angrily as I glare at him.
“She is Princess Morrigan, she has more right to the throne than you.” The magistrate says as he walks up beside me. “I have already alerted the guards to have you removed.” He adds with a small smile. The man gets off the bed naked glaring at me.
“You are not her; you are just some whore!” He yells down at me; I feel my eyes glow as anger rises in me, I touch him and send him to Vhaanth.
“Get the women out of this room, I want the room cleaned and locked down. No one goes in or out after it is done.” I say angrily to the magistrate and he nods to me. I walk out of the room through the hallways to the Seneschal’s office, I open the door and a small man looks up at me and bows immediately. “You got the message there is a new ruler?” I ask him as I frown down at him.
“Yes, Princess Morrigan.” He says quietly.
“Are all the affairs of the kingdom taken care of?” I ask him as he looks up at me with dread.
“No, Princess Morrigan, your predecessor was lazy, inefficient, and only king in name. The kingdom has been quickly sliding back into decline.” He says quietly.
“Make up a list of everything that needs to be done immediately, after we finish the more major tasks, we can take care of everything else.” I say to him and he grins and bows to me as he sits at his desk. I walk back out of the room and wander the hallways to wait for him to finish when I feel someone appear behind me, I turn to see Aiwass, I frown at him and turn to continue walking. I hear him run to catch up with me.
“I did not know you were a princess.” He says as he grins over at me.
“I used to be a long time ago.” I say as I continue walking.
“Now you are again.” He says with a laugh.
“I guess so.” I say as I look up at him and he grins down at me. “Why are you here?” I ask him.
“Because I love watching you.” He says as he watches me.
“That is very creepy.” I say as I stop and frown at him, he walks towards me pushing me against the wall with his body.
“You are beautiful, I love watching beautiful things.” He whispers down to me.
“Back off, or I will make you regret it.” I say as I glare up at him, and he backs off with a laugh.
“Prickly princess.” He says with a grin, and vanishes, I turn when I hear footsteps running towards me to see the seneschal.
“Who was that?” He asks me with a frown.
“An annoyance, do you have everything listed that is most important?” I ask him and he nods. “Lead the way.” I say with a smile, he grins at me and leads me through the halls. He takes me to the throne room, I see people have already started gathering, most of them are very angry. The seneschal has me sit on the throne; I feel someone appear in the room but I cannot see past all the humans to see who it is. I hear the seneschal call a name; I watch as an angry woman walks up on the platform in front of me.
“Princess Morrigan, I have been trying to get the castle to pay the kitchen staff and I more, currently we are only getting paid two coppers a day.” She says angrily to me, I frown at her.
“You would get paid more as a barmaid.” I say as she laughs.
“My point, the one before you would not listen.” She says angrily.
“Seneschal increase all the wages of all the staff to the appropriate amount, and back pay them for their services as well.” I say as I frown over at him and he grins as he writes it in the ledger. “Are there any other complaints I can take care of while you are here?” I ask the woman as I look back to her with a smile.
“The pantry is not stocked like it should be.” She says quietly.
“After we are done here, go to the kitchen and take an account of everything she needs to run the kitchen, then take it to the merchants.” I say to the seneschal, he nods as he writes it down. “Anything else?” I ask her with a smile.
“No, Princess Morrigan. Thank you.” She says with a smile as she bows and walks off the platform, I hear the seneschal call out another name, I watch as a knight walks onto the platform.
“He even pissed off knights?” I ask the seneschal with a frown.
“Yes, Princess Morrigan. He wanted to make us into entertainment for the masses, we have a scheduled boxing match, I was hoping you could get rid of it.” The knight says angrily.
“Why would someone want to watch knights’ box? I am getting rid of it but I do plan on scheduling a tournament, would you be happy with that?” I ask him with a smile.
“Yes, princess.” He says with a bow and walks away. I slowly make my way through the angry mob’s problems one by one, most of them are completely ridiculous and should have not even been a problem, but my predecessor seemed to think that being King meant he could do whatever he wanted. One of those things was completely destroying a tavern and refusing to pay for it to be rebuilt, which I agreed to clean up his mess and give the owner a place of business again. Finally, the room is empty and I finally get to see who appeared in the room, fear shoots through me as I stare at Cu Chulainn. He walks to me with a frown on his face, I stand up and move around the throne to put it between us.
“Is there something I can help you with, Cu Chulainn?” I ask quietly as I watch him walk towards me.
“You are not her.” He says when he stops on the platform in front of the throne.
“I could have told you that.” I say angrily.
“All these people would be on the floor dead, if you were her.” He says with a grin.
“That accomplishes nothing.” I say with a frown.
“I promise not to kill you, but I want to stay in the castle. I also want to watch everything you do here.” He says with a grin.
“Why?” I ask him as I walk around the throne to stand in front of him.
“Because I want to.” He says with a laugh.
“As long as you promise not to make any trouble here, I have enough angry humans from the idiot noble who held my throne while I was gone. Without you making it worse.” I say as I frown up at him.
“I promise.” He says as he smiles down at me, I hear footsteps running into the room, I turn to see the seneschal running back in from going to the kitchen.
“What is next, seneschal?” I ask him with a smile.
“You took care of the biggest issues today, Princess Morrigan. Take a break for the rest of the day and we will start up again tomorrow.” He says with a smile and bows.
“Thank you, seneschal.” I say with a smile and he walks back out of the room, I turn to look back at Cu Chulainn to see he has moved closer to me. I watch his eyes and I am confused by what I see in them, he is looking at me with love, I back up a step from him. “Are you okay, Cu Chulainn?” I ask him, he blinks as he comes out of it.
“Yes, I am fine.” He says as he offers his arm to me and I take it, he leads me out of the throne room. “You look just like her.” He says quietly as we walk down the hallways.
“What happened that made you want to kill her?” I ask him.
“She tried to kill me, knowing I could not hurt her back because of the magic between us. I disowned her and tried to kill her to defend myself, that is when Vhaanth came in and I watched her die.” He says quietly. “I have been angry that I was not the one to do it all this time.” He adds as we turn down a hallway.
“What made you change your mind about killing me?” I ask as I frown up at him.
“Seeing the way you handled those humans today, I realized that you are nothing like her. Killing you would be pointless.” Cu Chulainn says as he smiles down at me.
“I have a question about the demigod magic, if you don’t mind.” I say as I look back down the hallway as we walk.
“I don’t mind, what is it?” He asks me.
“Does the magic really make you fall in love with the God? I never got to that point with the two Gods I have had.” I ask with a frown; I feel him pull me to a stop and he looks down at me.
“Yes, it does, it is a very powerful magic. The lasting impression it leaves on you is hard to erase, I look at you and I feel her magic and her presence and I feel love for you. Even though you are not her.” He says with a sad smile.
“For me? But how?” I ask with a frown.
“I would rather not go into it.” He says as he turns and starts leading me down the hallway again.
“As you wish, Cu Chulainn.” I say as I look down the hallway again, I feel him stop and he looks down at me with pain in his eyes and vanishes.
“Morrigu use to say that to him, when she was still good.”
I didn’t know.
“He is having trouble separating the two of you. He knew her in her best moments, and they were lovers. Even though she was with a God, they still loved each other a lot.”
Who was the God?
“Lust, he left her for Love. Which caused Morrigu to turn.”
Her attempting to kill all life off in the world is because of a broken heart?
“That and the suffering of the humans on the battlefields was starting to get to her. She started not caring about the suffering because she planned on ending it all.”
How can I handle him without it ending with him coming after me with intentions to kill?
“Show him the good in you.”
I continue walking through the hallways deep in thought about the state of the kingdom and Cu Chulainn, and Emnos. When I feel someone appear in front of me further down the hallway, I look up to see the violet glowing eyes watching me. I try to vanish but nothing happens, I run the opposite way away from him, I glance back to see him coming after me as I feel someone appear in front of me. I look ahead of me to see Cu Chulainn, he sees the fear in me and steps out of my way as I run past him, I turn to see a sword appear in his hand as he turns to Emnos.
“She is off limits, God.” Cu Chulainn says angrily, I stop to watch them.
“You do not feel like a God, what are you?” Emnos asks him with a frown.
“That is not important, leave the demigod alone.” Cu Chulainn says angrily.
“She is mine, it is best if you get out of the way.” Emnos says as he glares at him, I run to Cu Chulainn.
“Do not fight him, you cannot kill him.” I whisper to him.
“What do you expect me to do?” He whispers back to me.
“Run, I will get away from him. I do not want you to get hurt trying to protect me.” I whisper to him; he looks down at me with a frown. “Run.” I say to him as I see Emnos running towards us, I run down the hallway away from Emnos as I feel Cu Chulainn vanish. I feel someone appear in the mansion in the hallway to my left and I see Dhuna, fear shoots through me causing me to run faster, I try to vanish again but it still is not working. I see the doors leading out to the garden ahead of me, I push the doors open as I glance behind me to see the twins running after me. I reach for the magic and I fly up into the sky as I look down to see them run out the doors after me, I see Cu Chulainn sitting on the roof of the palace watching me. I glide out of sight of the twins and land on the roof beside him, he smiles down at me as I change.
“How do you like flying?” He asks me with a laugh.
“Great for escape.” I say with a grin.
“I had a feeling you were going to do it, so I climbed up the side of the palace to wait.” He says with a smile.
“Thank you for offering to protect me.” I say as I look over at the ocean that surrounds the island.
“You’re welcome. Why did you tell me to run?” He asks me with a frown, as I look back up at him.
“I didn’t want you to get hurt, there was no way of winning that fight. You run until you see an opening to escape.” I say as I frown at him. “He was not after you, so you were in no danger as long as you stayed out of the way. If he finds out you are a demigod, he will come after you.” I add as I see a smile creep onto his face.
“I wonder if Creation will make you into a Goddess.” He says as he stares into my eyes.
“Why would she?” I ask him with a frown.
“I don’t know, but if she does, I want you to claim me.” He says with a laugh.
“I couldn’t do that to a demigod, knowing everything I do. And after being under the effects of it.” I say with a sad smile.
“Hello, love.” I hear a voice in my ear and I jump landing on Cu Chulainn, I turn to the giggling to see Aiwass.
“Aiwass, I swear to all the Gods I am going to hurt you if you do not stop popping out of nowhere!” I yell angrily at him as I sit back in my spot.
“Just came to see if you are ready to say yes to me yet.” He says as he pulls me onto his lap, as I glare at him.
“No, and I will never say yes. You are creepy and a lunatic.” I say angrily.
“Oh, you are warming up to me already, I love you too.” Aiwass says as he winks at me with a grin, I push him back on the roof and get off him. “Emnos is gone by the way, he poofed.” Aiwass says with a giggle as he watches me.
“Who is this God, Morrigan?” Cu Chulainn asks as he frowns at Aiwass.
“Aiwass, God of Frenzy.” I say annoyed as I watch Aiwass sit back up.
“She made another Frenzy?” Cu Chulainn asks angrily.
“She has done this before?” I ask him.
“Yes, it was a female last time. She chased after me, even though I was with Morrigu.” He says annoyed.
“You are a demigod too?” Aiwass asks as he stares at Cu Chulainn.
“Don’t even try, I will throw you off the roof.” Cu Chulainn says with a glare.
“That actually sounds like fun.” Aiwass says with a giggle, I reach down and touch Aiwass on the shoulder and send him to Vhaanth.
“Where did you send him?” Cu Chulainn asks me with a smile.
“Vhaanth.” I say with a grin and he laughs, as I sit back down beside him.
“Who was the man with Emnos?” He asks me.
“Dhuna his twin.” I say angrily, I see rage in his eyes.
“Emnos is which God?” He asks me angrily.
“Lust, Dhuna is Obsession.” I say as I watch the anger in him rise.
“Stay away from him, I will show you some places to go where the magic is so heavy, he will not be able to find you.” Cu Chulainn says angrily as he glares at me and grabs me, we vanish, a forest appears around us I feel the magic leaking up from the ground around us, we vanish again a cemetery appears around us the magic is even stronger here. We vanish again appearing back on the roof of the palace. “Do not let him catch you.” Cu Chulainn says as he glares down into my eyes and I nod.
“You really do not like him, do you?” I ask as we sit back down.
“No, I do not. Lust has always been a thorn in my side, and if he is coming after you, he will rip everything apart until he gets to you. I have seen Lust when he cannot have what he wants, it can be terrifying.” Cu Chulainn says angrily as he watches the ocean.
“What was the previous Lust like?” I ask him as I watch the rage inside him.
“Sweet talker, liked making people think he is a nice person. Until they either made him angry or he no longer had a use for them. Then his real personality would come out, no one is more cruel or uncaring than he is, he has no conscious about right and wrong. To him he is always right and anyone who disagrees with him is wrong.” He says angrily.
“Sounds like he has not changed.” I say quietly.
“Which side have you seen?” He asks me.
“A mix, he did something when he said he wouldn’t and then acted like he did nothing wrong.” I say quietly as I watch the sun go down.
“I will not press as to what he did, I think I have a good guess.” Cu Chulainn says angrily. “Are you friends with any of the Gods?” He asks me quietly.
“Vhaanth, Theros, Adam, used to be in Ark’s good graces until Emnos used his daughter to get to me.” I say to him.
“Theros is what?” He asks me.
“God of Summer.” I say with a smile.
“Ark sounds familiar.” He says quietly.
“God of War, he has a wife named Aife.” I say as I smile at him.
“Probably best you do not introduce me to those two.” He says with a uneasy smile.
“Why is that?” I ask him with a frown.
“I knew Ark as a human before he ascended, his wife and I met under less-than-ideal conditions. At that time, I was still angry about Morrigu, I did a lot of bad things I am not proud of.” He says with a frown, I feel someone appear in the palace below us.
“I have another visitor.” I say with an uneasy smile.
“Lets go see who it is.” He says with a smile as he touches my hand and we vanish, Adam appears in front of as the hallway comes into view.
