school started back up a week and half after the reunion. the boys had spent that time doing last minute school shopping for supplies, clothes and other things that zayn and liam didn't understand why they would need for educational purposes. the teens were (somewhat) ready to start the new school year, all having advanced up into the next grade. harry's being sophomore now, louis a junior and niall is in his last year—with his birthday coming up in just a month from now, which he was elated about because he would be turning eighteen.

the boys were 'happy' in a sense about going back to school and starting a new year, in a higher class. there would be more things to experience and options to explore. although, the idea of going to school to learn wasn't apart of the reason they were eager. niall was just happy that he was in his final year of school and was one step closer to getting the hell out of the place. harry was looking forward to making more friends his own age—though he enjoyed hanging out with the senior girls as well as mitch—he too, wanted friends of his own.

louis isn't that thrilled about coming back. it's good that he gets to see his friends again, since they hadn't seen much of one another over the summer because they had all been doing their own thing. the last time they all hung out together as a group was when louis threw that party several weeks ago. the blue eyed boy blushed in embarrassment, remembering how disastrous it had turned out in the end. but, he pushed that thought to the very back of his mind as he walked down the familiar hallway of the school.

liam had just dropped the boys off at school, and louis had already split off from niall and harry, who went their own separate ways as well. the teen clutched the single strap of his backpack slung over one shoulder as he headed towards the spot where he and his friends normally meet up before classes started. he already had his new schedule since liam had made sure to take them all to pick it up days prior that way they didn't have to worry about stopping by the front office to retrieve it today.

louis smirks slightly when his friends come into view, taking a few more strides before reaching them.

"oi, what's up losers?" he greets, grabbing their attention. one of his friends, scott, locks his arms around the blue eyed boy's neck, tightening his hold.

"who're you calling a loser, loser." he says playfully, scraping his knuckles against the top of the boy's head. louis grunts, growling playfully as he fights out of the headlock, reversing their positions so that he has scott in a hold instead. the teen chokes at the tight hold, and louis smirks, not letting up as he waits for him to surrender.

"are you sure it's me who's the loser?" louis teases, tightening his arms. the boys continue wrestling around until scott eventually gives up and taps out on louis' arm in surrender. the blue eyed boy releases him, laughing. scott pushes him away playfully. then louis greets the rest of his friends with high five-handshakes and one-armed bro hugs. the four of them all talk and laugh, sharing stories about what took place over the summer before moving in to talk about what they expected to happen this school year.

"you think now that we're juniors, the senior girls will give us a chance?" another one of louis' close friends, jay, inquires thoughtfully as they begin walking towards their home room. the last one, ander, scoffs with an eye roll.

"not even the girls in our class want you, what makes you think you have a chance with a senior?" he says. jay glares at him, while scott laughs and claps him on the back.

"damn, you didn't have to crush his spirit like that." scott laughs. jay pushes pushes him harshly, making him bump into ander causing them to stumble, before giving them both the middle finger.
