"Hey, so there's a Christmas party for my Mom's work on Saturday if you wanna go," Nic said.

"What time?" I asked.

I was laying in his lap, reading a book and he was watching TV.

"Not till eight," he replied.

"Oh, okay, I can come," I nodded.

I felt his hand fiddling with the ends of my hair and my stomach filled with butterflies.

"When's your lecture then?" He asked.

"Twelve," I replied with a sigh, "But it's a four-hour seminar."

"Jeez," he said.

I chuckled softly, "Yep."

"We don't have to stay long," he offered.

"Mhm," I said with a yawn, "Man, I am tired."

"Get ready for bed," he suggested.

I sat up and closed my book, yawning once again, nodding at his suggestion.

"Do you want a water bottle?" I asked, climbing off of the pullout and slipping on my slides.

"Sure," he replied.

I grabbed one of his hoodies and slipped it on over my tank top, heading down to the kitchen to grab two bottles of water.

I tossed one to Nic and placed the other on my nightstand, heading into the bathroom to brush my teeth and tie my hair up.

I laid down in bed while he continued to quietly watch TV.

I drifted off quite quickly, exhausted from university.

I slipped on the second thin lace sleeve of my dress, making sure it looked okay in the bathroom mirror.

I couldn't quite reach the zipper, making me sigh.

"Nic, can you come help me?" I called.

He appeared a moment later, hesitating at the sight of my state, my dress on in the front but open in the back.

"I can't reach the zipper, can you do it?" I asked.

He swallowed and nodded, I brought my hair around my shoulder and his hands worked the zipper.

"Thank you," I said, "Does it look okay?"

I flattened the front of the emerald silk, adjusting the high slit and neckline.

He nodded and I noticed a few of his curls going in odd directions.

I giggled, "Come here, your hair is messy."

He chuckled and moved a bit closer so that I could reach his hair.

I leaned up and fixed some of his stray curls.

"When did you get this dress?" He asked.

"Elena and I went shopping a couple of weeks ago and I loved it," I replied.

"It looks good," he said, "Really good."

I chuckled, "Thank you."

"We have to leave in, like, twenty minutes," he muttered, fixing the cuffs of his button-down.

"Perfect, that gives me time to do my makeup," I said, grabbing the little makeup bag I had.

It was simple, only containing mascara, eyeliner, highlighter and lipstick and gloss.
