"Stop kicking me!" I exclaimed, looking at my baby bump.

I was trying to tie my hair back, but the baby kept kicking at me.

I heard Nic snigger, but when I turned to accuse him, he pursed his lips and focused on the book in his hands.

"I'm so done with this stupid thing," I huffed.

"Hey, don't call our baby stupid," Nic muttered.

"If I'm growing her, I can call her stupid," I countered.

"So... you're stupid then?" He asked.

I scoffed, "Bastard."

"Okay, calm down, my love," he closed the book and moved to the side of the bed where I was standing.

"I had something I was going to do," I touched my palm to my forehead, trying to remember.

"You were going to give me a kiss," he said, pulling me closer by my waist.

"No, there was something- the kitchen, maybe? Or was it the bath-"

I was cut off by his lips.

"Mm!" I pulled away, "It was in the kitchen."

He rolled his eyes.

"What was?" He asked.

I paused a moment, "I can't remember."

"You need to sleep," he said.

"Sleep? I don't know her," I sighed, I had been up for hours last night, tossing and turning.

"You could," he offered.

"But there's things to do around the house and Patronus and Michael. Oh, and my aunt wants to stop by to drop something off-"

"And I can handle all of that," he shrugged.

"But-"

"Hey," he said, using his fingers to tilt my chin up, "I've got this."

I sighed, "I can't burden you with all the house chores, you have your own things to do with work and-"

"Amara," he chuckled, taking my hand.

I glared at him for interrupting me again.

"Come on, sweetheart, just lay down," he urged again, kissing my forehead.

I relaxed into his touch, letting the tiredness settle in as I considered having a nap.

I let my head fall onto his shoulder, taking a calming breath.

"Okay, okay, I will," I caved.

"Good," he kissed my temple.

He stood up and I climbed onto the bed, struggling a bit with my baby belly.
