I was fast asleep finally after finishing reports for Nick Fury on his previous missions. I was just about to slip away when there was a banging on my door.
"Carter! Get up! You have to hear this!" Fury yelled. I grabbed my robe and opened the door. Fury was fully dressed in his black button up, black slacks, I just looked at him.
"Do you sleep like that?" I asked.
"Can you just hurry your ass up. We have to get to listen to comms." Fury said and I groaned shutting the door. I put on a pair of jeans and a S.H.I.E.L.D. t-shirt. I walked out of the bedroom and we walked down to the computer bay.
"What is going on?" I asked as we everyone and everyone looked at me and then to Fury. "Okay I'm your second in command, can they please listen to me eventually?!" I asked pissed. "If they won't listen, why I am here?!" I asked and went to walk away and Fury grabbed my wrist and stopped me.
"Answer Agent Carter's questions." Fury said and I gave a small smile but tried to stay stoic and poised.
"A Russian oil team found something and they think its something of ours so we sent a team. They are about to breach access." A team member said.
"What did they find?" Fury asked.
"Some kind of aircraft. It's pretty massive in size." The same member said. We watched as the team breach the airship and got inside.
"You don't think...?" I whispered to Fury and he didn't say anything. We watched them talking back and forth wondering what kind of aircraft it was and what it could be used for. I saw something below all the snow and ice and I moved closer to the screen around the time the guy searching did the same. He brushed the snow and ice off.
"Holy shit." Me and the guy said at the same time.

Later that day after my 4th cup of coffee I was sitting in Fury's office.
"It's on its way here?!" I asked in shocked and he nodded.
"Of course! He deserves better than an ice grave!" Fury said and I groaned
"You know I have to tell her right?! She was his friend and handler!" I said and Fury nodded.
"You think it's smart? She knows he went down and died, do you really want to upset her more?"
"It's been 70 years! She got married, had a family! I mean obviously." I said and held out my arms and Fury gave a small laugh.
"Let's just figure this out first okay?" Fury said and I sighed sitting down. "What do you know about him?" Fury asked and I shrugged.
"What should I know? I mean I have been to the museum, Great grandma told me some stories..." I said and Fury sighed.
"We have a lot to go over and you need to know everything. When this get's out what we have found people will be asking questions and you need to be prepared." Fury said and handed me a stack of files and started talking about how Steve was insistent to enlist and then he was found by Dr. Abraham Erskine, got the super solider serum. I mean everything Nick was telling me or having me read, I knew. Nick then explained how Peggy Carter, my great grandmother was a good friend to Steve and his handler. Everyone always thought there was more there but Peggy Carter was with Howard Stark at the time. After I listened to everything Fury told me up to Steve going into the ice I sighed and stood up.
"I can't wait Fury, I have to go tell her." I said and he sighed.
"I know you do, she always felt like a failure when she lost him." Fury said and I nodded. I walked out of his office and headed to the nursing home on the outside of town. I was nervous the whole ride. I didn't now how this news was going to be taken. I walked in and the receptionist saw me and smiled.
"Summer...." She trailed off and I groaned signing in.
"I don't know why I have to do this, I'm here every day." I said and she smiled.
"Rules sweetie." She said and I walked away with a smiled. I walked down to her room and found her wide away looking at a photo album an album I had seen before and I felt like she knew something was going on.
"Hey you! Looking beautiful day." I said and kissed her check and she smiled at me.
"I'm old and wrinkly." Peggy said.
"And beautiful so hush." I said and she laughed. I smiled at her, I looked at the photo album and sighed.
"What made you pull out his scrapbook?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Have a feeling." She said and I nodded. I took it from her and closed it.
"Sweetie, I may be 95 but I will still hurt you." She said and I smiled.
"You can get it back but we need to talk." I said and she sighed looking at me.
"Sum...?" She asked. I took her hand.
"Grandma, we found him. We found his plane and we found his body encased in ice." I said and she smiled and started crying. I pulled her into a hug and just held her.
"I want to go to the funeral..." She said and I nodded.
"I will see what I can do." I said and my cellphone started ringing and I groaned.
"What Fury?" I asked annoyed.
"He's here." Fury said and hung up. I looked at Peggy.
"His body just arrived. I have to go. I will keep you updated." I said and she nodded.
"Don't let them disrespect him, Agent Carter." Peggy said getting serious and I nodded.
"Copy that." I said and then blew her a kiss rushing out the door.

I walked into the room and just saw a man covered in ice laying on a table and I stood in shock.
"How did she take it?" Fury asked seeing me.
"She wants to go to the funeral." I said and he sighed.
"I'll see what I can do." Fury said and I nodded. Fury and I stood there watching them defrost him slowly...defrost...like he was chicken from the freezer. I was finally able to see some of his body and I stepped closer to him and just looked at the man my great grandmother had cared for and told me before was the man who saved the world. I moved even closer since no one was stopping me and then I noticed something.
"Oh my god! He is breathing!" I yelled causing everyone to stop moving.
