I walked back down to the containment and saw Bucky sitting there.
"Can I get you anything? Food? Drink?" I asked and he looked up at me.
"So, you are a good capture now?" Bucky said and I sighed crossing my arms.
"Listen, you were spotted, you were wanted for questioning and to try and get whatever hydra did to you out of your head. I'm willing to help you." I said and he sighed.
"So where exactly am I?"
"Avengers compound in Washington." I said and he half nodded.
"Steve Rogers is in the Avengers." Bucky said and I just half nodded.
"He is." I said.
"Can I see him?"
"Not at the moment. Captain Rogers has been instructed to stay away." I said.
"By you?" Bucky asked with a chuckle.
"I'm the mission leader so of course." I said.
"I'm surprised."
"About what?" I asked.
"Steve listening and talking to a girl. The old Steve never would have been able to talk to someone as beautiful as you." Bucky said and I hid my blush.
"Well Captain Rogers and I -..." I started to say as Nat came walking down.
"This him?" She asked and I groaned.
"Nat, not now." I said and she sighed.
"I was sent by Tony to see if he wanted anything to eat or drink." Nat asked and I looked at Bucky.
"Even the man whose parents your murdered wants to know if you want anything. Can we get you anything?" I asked.
"Just some water would be fine." Bucky said and Nat walked away. I went to leave too.
"Can you stay?" Bucky asked and I sighed but nodded and pulled up a chair outside the containment.
"Sure." I said and he gave a small smile.
"Anything you want to talk about in particular?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Why you drugged me?" Bucky asked and we both laughed.
***STEVE POV***
I sat in the conference room watching the camera of Bucky and Summer talking. She was laughing as was he. Bucky was doing it again being is normal charming self and flirting with Summer and she was falling for it. I just wanted to go down there and get this all handled but I wasn't allowed downstairs, my access had been denied. Summer was now in charge, and I wasn't sure how to take that.
"You okay?" Nat asked walking in the room and sitting down.
"She is down talking to him." I said.
"I know I was just down there. She went to leave but he asked her to stay. He is lonely and scared. He doesn't know what's going on." Nat said and I groaned.
"So, what's your story doll?" I heard Bucky ask and I groaned.
"What?" Nat asked.
"He is flirting, and she is falling for it and flirting back." I said and Nat scoffed.
"Well, no offense, you going toe to toe with her wasn't the best idea, Steve." Nat said and I hung my head.
"I just don't understand her lying to me...again! I thought we were past the lying." I said.
"Steve, I get that I really do, trust me. Look at this from her point though, she has an amazing job, amazing chance with S.H.I.E.L.D and Fury told her what to do and not tell you. Best honest, if you had been on this mission would you have done everything possible to bring him here or would you have let him get away?" Nat asked. When I didn't answer Nat just sighed and walked out of the room. I went back to watching the camera feed.
I saw Nat show back up with water and a sandwich of some kind and hand them to Summer.
"You okay to go in there?" Nat whispered.
"I won't hurt her, I don't hurt women, especially beautiful women." Bucky said and I groaned. He was really laying it on so thick. Typical Bucky. I watched Summer walk into the containment and I sat on the edge of my seat. Nothing happened and she left.
"So I couldn't help to notice your last name was Carter, any relation to Peggy?" Bucky asked and Summer nodded.
"She was my great grandmother." Summer said and Bucky nodded.
"Steve had a thing for her."
"She was his handler, there was a kiss and nothing else between them." Summer said shifting in her seat.
I dropped my head watching this. She was still defending me after everything that happened between us.
"Well, you are better looking than the other Carter. Steve still hold a torch for Peggy?" Bucky asked.
"No. He never did, and he has moved on."
"With you doll?" Bucky asked. I sat up and listened intently.
"It's complicated right now with you in the picture." Summer said. Bucky smirked at her.
"Well, if things don't work between you and Steve you know where I'll be." Bucky said. Summer just smiled and blushed. I slammed my hand on the table again and left the room I was in. I knew where I needed to go.
***NORMAL POV***
"Well, I'll let you know Bucky, but I think I'm going to see what's going on with Steve." I said and he smiled.
"Well, this is a first, a girl picking Steve over me. Actually, I take the back. Peggy picked Steve over me, wouldn't even look at me in the bar one night." Bucky said and I smiled.
"That had to hurt." I said and Bucky laughed with a shrug.
"I got over it easily." Bucky said and we laughed. He then looked at me and smiled.
"You seem much better than her though doll, trust me." Bucky said and I half nodded.
"If only Steve see's it that way." I said. Bucky was about to say something but was interrupted.
"Director Carter, there is a meeting waiting in your office." F.R.I.D.A.Y, the AI system said, and I sighed.
"Duty calls. You okay for now?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yeah, will you be back later?" Bucky asked, I nodded and winked at him as I walked out and headed to my office. I saw my secretary was gone and I was confused. I opened my office door and sighed with who was standing there.
"We need to talk, now." Steve said.
