***5 MONTHS LATER***
***STEVE POV***
I got back to the compound, and I knew I had to go to a debriefing meeting with Fury, but I had to go see Summer. I wasn't even able to call her on the way home and the only contact I had with her was that letter. I rushed to her office seemingly ignoring everyone who said hello to me.
When I got to her office it was dark and seemingly empty. A lot had been removed, personal effects mostly but all removed. I rushed out and to Fury's office where Nat was waiting outside for me.
"Wow, that was quick. I know it was 5 months Rogers but damn wine and dine the girl." Nat said and I shoved past her into Fury's office.
"Where is she?!" I asked aggravated as Nat followed me in.
"Who?" Fury asked.
"Don't bullshit me, Fury! Where is Summer?!" I asked pissed off.
"Summer Carter was relocated for the time being to London." Fury said.
"LONDON?!" Nat and I both yelled.
"For what?!" I asked.
"I have her setting up the Joint Terrorism Task Force with Sharon. They are working together getting it all set then Sharon will stay. Takes about a year to set up." Fury said.
"And when did you send her over?" I asked. Fury then stood up and leaned on his desk.
"I didn't send her Captain, she offered to go." Fury said and I just looked at him in shock.
"She offered?" I asked and Fury nodded.
"Yes, she offered. It takes a year to set up and she left 2 months ago." Fury said and I hung my head.
"You can go to London and see her." Nat said and I nodded.
"Actually, Captain we need you here. You can't go to London." Fury said and I looked at him.
"Nick, I'm willing to do this debriefing but then I need to go to London. A phone call or facetime chat won't do. I need to see her." I said. Fury went to argue but knew he couldn't because he knew the state Summer was in when she left. She was broken, worn down, tired and constantly worrying about Steve.
"Fine then we better get on the debriefing meeting so you can then get on the jet. I have all her information where she is here which you will get when we are done." Fury said placing his hand on a file.
***SUMMER POV***
I was standing in a filing room getting it all set up when Sharon walked in.
"Hey, do you possible have the Winter Solider file?" Sharon asked and I sighed.
"I can find it actually. I have been looking for it. I think someone took it, I might have it or it never got sent over. I'll figure it out later." I said and Sharon nodded. I then looked at her. "Why do you need it anyway?" I asked.
"Someone thinks they saw him, and I just wanted to update myself. They may be sending a task force to go look for him." Sharon said.
"Where was the sighting?" I asked.
"Vienna." Sharon asked and I nodded. I finished filing and headed out of the room with Sharon.
"Well like I said I can check my office and see what I find." I said and she smiled with a nod, and we went our separate ways. I got on the elevator.
"Summer Carter." I said since it was also voice activated.
"Director Carter, to your office?" The elevator said being voice activated.
"Yes please." I said.
Once I got off the elevator, I was met by an agent needing my signature on some paperwork. I hated being Director of this division, that was never the deal. I was supposed to be here to set this up then Fury decided to tell me that I would be Director for a year. I offered to come thinking it would be a simple trip. I walked down to my office and my secretary handed me messages and I saw some from Fury but none from the man I wanted to see, he must still be undercover. He and Nat had probably hooked up by now and I had no hope of competing against her.
"Also U.S. Director Fury would like a video conference meeting tomorrow 10AM. He sent the request; would you like me to accept?" She asked and I nodded.
"That's fine." I said and she smiled. I walked into my office, and I saw someone standing looking out my big wall window.
"Excuse me? Can I help you?" I asked slightly annoyed. He turned around and I saw it was Steve. I stood in shock. "Steve?!" I shrieked, dropping everything in my hands and rushing over to him and wrapping my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around me and held on to me.
"Let me see you..." Steve said pulling me off of him but still holding me close. He placed his hands on my cheeks and I smiled at him.
"When did you get here?" I asked. He just shook his head and leaned in. His lips touched mine in a gentle kiss the quickly turned passionate. I placed my hand on his chest as his hand linked behind my back and held me close. Once we broke apart, I just looked at him.
"So...Director Carter...." Steve said and I shook my head hating it.
"I don't like it, I don't want it. I want to be home. Fury is saying I have to stay here for a year." I said and Steve sighed. "Now answer my question, when did you get here?" I asked.
"Like an hour ago. I got back from the undercover operation, got some sleep per Fury's orders and then headed here." Steve said and I placed my hand on his cheek.
"I didn't know if I was ever going to see you." I said and Steve sighed. He then looked at the chain I was wearing under my blouse and smiled. He grabbed it and pulled it out so he could see it and saw it was his dog tags.
"Still have these huh?" Steve asked with a smirk, and I noticed and then looked at his wrist.
"Of course, I do. You entrusted me with them." I said and he nodded. I placed my forehead on his chest, and he just held on to me. I wasn't sure how long he held on until there was a knock on my office door.
"For the love of god." I mumbled into his chest. I then got out of his grip.
"Come in." I said and Sharon came walking in. She saw Steve and gave him a small smile.
"Welcome to London Cap." Sharon said, and he gave a small nod. "I take it you haven't got to look to see if you have that file yet?" Sharon asked and I groaned.
"No, had a small shock when I got in here." I said and she nodded. I walked over to my desk and looked through the files I had.
"I have both, I have Bucky Barnes and Winter Solider files? You want both?" I asked and she nodded. Steve looked at me confused.
"What is going on with Bucky?" Steve asked and I forgot for a second who Bucky was to Steve.
"He was spotted in Vienna." I said and Steve looked at me in shock.
