We got Steve in the SUV with we were heading to a real medical facility since we needed to get Steve checked out.

"Who are you exactly?" Steve asked looking at Nick.

"Colonel Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. You would have known us as the Strategic Scientific Reserve." Fury said.

"And you?" Steve said looking at me and I could tell he was dying to get my name since he keep looking at me like he knew me.

"Summer Car-..." I started to say.

"Not important." Nick said and I shot him a glare. I knew why he wasn't letting me give my name right away but it also confused me. Reason I was here, reason I was watching him.

"How am I alive?" Steve asked. I pulled a file from beside me and started reading some notes. Same file I had read over and over again.

"To be honest with you, we don't really know really. The docs say it was suspended animation. Could be Dr. Erskine's formula, the extreme cold. There are a couple possibilities." I said and handed the file to Steve.

"What about the war? Did we win?" Steve asked.

"Hell yes! Unconditional surrender. You taking down Hydra was a big part of that." Fury explained. Steve just watched the world past him by through the window of the SUV. I placed a hand on his arm and he looked at me.

"The world hasn't changed that much. There's still a lot of work to be done. A soldier's work. The world can still use a man like you, Captain Rogers." I said and he just looked at me in my eyes and gave a small smile as we pulled up outside the medical facility and Steve looked slightly panicked. I smiled at him as we went to get out of the car. Fury got out then Steve did. As I went to get out Steve extended his hand for me and I smiled at him.

"Thank you." I said and he gave a small smile.

"Summer, I need you to go and get the files and everything ready to where Steve will be staying...." Fury trailed off and I nodded as I went to walk away.

"Actually I was hoping she could stay. I know she isn't from my time and I know her outfit is for me but it actually calms me." Steve said and I looked at Fury.

"Of course she can. I will go get everything else ready." Fury said and I guided Steve to the lab where we needed to go. I looked at the nurses and they left.

"Do you mind if I do everything?" I asked and Steve shook his head. I started getting everything ready as Steve watched me.

"So, why wouldn't Fury let me hear your last name?" Steve asked and I shrugged.

"Not sure..." I trailed off.

"What is your last name." Steve asked and I knew I couldn't tell him, not like this.

"Carnes. Summer Carnes." I said and Steve smiled.

"Nice to meet you." Steve asked as I placed the tourniquet around his arm and started drawing some blood.

"So who found me?" Steve asked.

"Some Russian Oil guys. They found the jet and then found you inside. Brought you back here just to get you out of the ice but then..." I started to say and stopped.

"But then what Agent Carnes." Steve said and I sighed.

"First of all Summer, please." I said and smiled at Steve as I finished getting some blood.

"Okay Summer, but then what?" Steve said and I smiled at him.

"Then as they were melting the ice, I was there and I saw you breathing." I said and Steve looked at me as I looked down at his chart.

"You noticed?" Steve asked and I nodded.

"I did." I said and Steve sighed as we he got up from the examine table. He walked over to the window that overlooked the city.

"How am I supposed to acclimate to this world?" Steve asked.

"It's the same world you left Steve..." I said.

"But it's not either. Everyone I know is gone..." Steve said and the pain in his voice broke my heart. I looked at the file I was holding that Fury told me to not give him, I sighed. I looked in the hallway and notice no one was coming.

"Okay so I was told to not give this to you right way but I think it's a file you need to see." I said and Steve just looked at me as I handed him the file. He opened it up and looked.

"She's alive?!" Steve asked in shock and I nodded.

"She is and she will be so excited to see you." I said smiling at Steve.
