I walked into the compound for the party. I was wearing a satin dress that hit right about the knee and was burgundy with a swooped neckline. I looked around and saw Tony standing at the bar with Thor, Rhodey and Maria Hill. I looked around but then just sighed and walked to the group at the bar.
"Ahhh Miss Carter, you made it!" Tony said and I smiled.
"Yeah, you said mandatory..." I said and Tony smiled.
"Well now I have to ask how do we tell you and the other Agent Carter apart. I mean we can't call you both Agent Carter." Tony said and I glared at him.
"I really don't care to talk about Sharon Carter, if you don't mind." I said.
"And why not dear old cousin? You mad at me?" I heard the voice ask walking up to join our group. I looked at Sharon and just sighed.
"Not in the slightest. Excuse me." I said and walked away. I walked further down the bar where I saw Nat mixing some drinks.
"There you are!" She said and hugged me over the bar.
"Hey, sorry I just needed to get away from her." I said and Nat looked down the bar.
"Yeah I heard about that shake up. You okay?" Nat asked.
"You know, honestly, no. I spent so much time learning about Steve, noticed he was breathing when they brought him out of the ice, watched over him while he was out of it to make sure he was okay and doing everything that was asked of me. Just because I lied about my name because Fury acted like he couldn't know I get punished all because Captain Asshole goes and whines to Fury about it. He didn't even give me a chance." I ranted as Nat handed me a drink she was mixing. Once I was done Nat was smirking at me.
"Is that all Agent Carter?" I heard his voice say. I looked down the bar and saw Steve standing there grabbing a beer for himself. I looked back at Nat,
"Warn a girl before she rants." I said and she shook her head.
"This was more fun." Nat said. She looked at me and then at Steve "Play nice you two." She said and walked away. I sighed and turned to look at Steve.
"So Captain Asshole...that's one I havn't heard yet." Steve said.
"Listen, it's my own personal nickname for you now, deal with it." I said and he held up his hands in surrender.
"I didn't know Fury would totally replace you." Steve said and I huffed a laugh.
"You went into his office and complained about me! You went into his office and said you couldn't trust me! I'm not a vindictive or evil person Steve. I lied to you yes, but here's why...Fury wouldn't let me tell you my real name in the car that day so I thought he wanted me to lie! He must have thought you hearing I was a Carter right off the bat would shock you." I said and Steve sighed.
"Would you like me to go talk to Fury again?" Steve asked.
"No, it's fine. I have a job coming up with Nat and I think it would just be better if Sharon was your handler." I said and he sighed. He was about to say something and Sharon walked over to us.
"Captain Rogers..." She said and Steve looked at her. I shook my head at the way she was acting. It wasn't professional I could already see her thinking about flirting.
"Agent Carter...wait...how is this going to work with two of you?" Steve asked.
"You can just call me Sharon."
"Yeah...that might work." Steve said. I rolled my eyes and just grabbed my drink from the bar.
"Have a nice night you two." I said and walked away. I looked around and didn't see anyone I would like to hang out with at the moment so I went down a back hallway and up the stairs to the roof. I knew there was a place to sit up here, I had found it before. Well I didn't find it, Fury showed it to me one day when I needed to decompress from watching Steve and when he was consuming my life. I sat in one of the seats and sighed.
"Having a good night?" I heard a voice say and I groaned knowing the voice.
"No, not particularly. Why are you hiding out?" I asked looking at Fury as he sat down in the seat beside me.
"Just getting some fresh air. Why are you hiding out?" Fury asked.
"Because...nothing..." I said.
"Does it have something to do with a certain Captain?" Fury asked.
"No! Why would he had anything to do with it? Sharon is now taking care of him. He is being handled." I said and Fury sighed.
"Summer, you know I didn't have any other choice." Fury said.
"You had a million other choices! You tell him to suck it up with me, you get another agent, you don't get Sharon Carter to come in and take over for me. She always does this, she always-..." I started to say and then stopped.
"Summer...?" Fury asked.
"It's fine Nick. I will just work with Nat on whatever it is and it will be fine." I said. I stood up finished my drink and walked back to the party.
"Summer!" I heard someone yell and I noticed it was Sharon. I ignored her and started to head to the exit.
"Summer Carter!" She yelled causing some people to look and I turned around as she approached me.
"Sharon, stop! You don't need to cause a scene I was purposely ignoring you. What can you possibly want?" I asked.
"I need that info on Steve. He is a tough nut to crack." Sharon said and I groaned.
"And I told you where it would be left, you want it, go get it." I said and Sharon sighed.
"I don't fell comfortable there. Grandma and I never really saw eye to eye. You were always her favorite, perfect granddaughter Summer." Sharon said in a mocking tone.
"Oh please..." I said rolling my eyes.
"You know its true! Grandma loves you more than me!" Sharon said.
"Maybe she had to! Maybe she felt like everyone else coddled over you! I needed someone in my corner and she always has been! Baby Sharon got everything she wanted, always have and always will. You got my job so go do it! Go take everything I have worked for and worked on for weeks. Go be the best Agent Carter, you know you want to. Go visit her Sharon, stop being a jerk and you will get your info there." I said. I turned to walk away and Steve was standing right behind me with Tony and they heard everything. "Fantastic." I said and walked past them and left the party.

A few days later, I was done hiding out in my place and went to see my grandmother, I had news to tell her. When I walked in I saw Nick sitting there and they instantly stopped talking when I walked in the room.
"I'll come back later." I went to walk out.
"Agent Carter! Get in here now." I heard my grandmother say and I knew if she was calling me agent she was pissed. I walked back in the room.
"Yes ma'am?" I asked.
"Your little outburst at the party the other night was unacceptable." Peggy said.
"Did Sharon come crying to you? You in her corner now?" I asked.
"No Steve told me! He is concerned about you." Peggy said and I looked at the floor. I looked Fury.
"And Fury is here because...?" I asked.
"Just catching up and checking on her." Fury said and I nodded.
"Well one of you can tell Captain Rogers I will be fine. Natasha and I are going out of town for a couple of days. That intel she is following gave her a lead and I offered to go with her. That's what I came to tell you." I said and she smiled.
"Okay well be safe and I love you. Don't worry this conversation will be waiting here for you when you get back." Peggy said and I sighed as I hugged her and kissed her cheek.
"I got it. I love you." I said.
"Love you." Peggy said and I walked out. I stopped in the hallways and leaned against the wall. Steve was worried about my outburst and went to my grandmother...what was that about?
