cate immediately stood up from her seat, enveloping the smaller woman in a hug.

"helena love it is so good to see you!!! i can't believe you're in this film???"

helena squealed with delight, "cate!!!! i know isn't it just amazing!!!"

everyone was staring at the two women, watching their interaction.

sandy knew that cate and helena had worked together on cinderella a few years ago.

helena removed herself from cates grasp, moving to her spot at the table besides anne, who she air kissed on each cheek.

sandy then remembered that the two women had worked together on le mis.

helena addressed the group in a charming british accent, "it is just lovely to meet you all, i'm helena, i'm so sorry again that i'm late, oh! i'm going to be playing rose weil."

that was followed by a round of introductions from everyone at the table, and then they got to work.

it was two hours into the table read and things couldn't have been going better.

gary spoke about his ideas for the movie with such enthusiasm that everyone couldn't help but be in high spirits.

everyone seemed to have been perfectly cast, and sandy was amazed at the talent that surrounded her.

sarah was amazing as always, the slight change in her voice and expressive looks on her face causing everyone to giggle after she delivered a line.

there was no way to describe cates acting other than otherworldly.

the way she truly embodied her character was jaw dropping, and sandy never ceased to be amazed by her.

cate showed up everyone at the table seemingly with ease, a fact that sandy would only begrudgingly admit.

cate truly was playing in a league of her own.

sandy was pleasantly surprised by both nora and rihanna, neither of whom she had really seen act before and both of which were witty and funny and perfect for their roles.

sandy knew that anne was a major talent, but the way she threw herself into a role that many other actresses would've avoided really amazed her.

the role of daphne wasn't easy, but anne made it look as thought it was.

mindy took sandy completely by surprise.

sandy had seen her in the office of course, and knew she was a very talented writer, but was blown away by her performance.

all though she didn't have many lines, she sent sandy into a fit of laughter each time.

mindy had also already started improvising lines in a way that sandy knew was going to cause her to crack up during filming.

sandy was somewhat familiar with helena's work, but had never had the pleasure of working with her.

she knew that helena had a specific charm about her, something that made her popular with off-beat directors such as helena's boyfriend, tim burton, but sandy had always been slightly skeptical of how her talent would translate to roles outside of that genre.

she wasn't skeptical anymore.

if cates acting was in a league of its own, helena wasn't even playing the same sport.

from the moment she read her first line in a stark irish accent, sandy knew she was gonna be good.

in the middle of the script when she broke out in fluent french...sandy had to do a double take.
