"Okay, it's a story about a girl that loves the moon and secretly loves the sunset." Y/N started. "Once upon a time, there was a girl. Hidden in her chambers, she never saw the world or the beauty of it. She's always busy with other stuff that she's convinced herself will make her happy and complete. However, it only made her tired and long for more. Don't get her wrong, she loves the outcome of it... but there's something missing. But that feeling would vanish whenever she saw the moon."

Y/N stopped for a second, catching her breath.

She continued, "The moon made her feel at peace. It made her feel warm and happy. Like a mother's sweet and loving embrace—like being hugged by a mother that's been gone for years, welcoming you with open arms. That's what the moon made her feel. But there's one thing she's been hiding... her love for the sunset."

Scarlett smiles, pulling Y/N closer.

"She never gets to see the sunset because she's always buried with other things. But deep inside, all she wants to do is drop everything and just go meet her secret love. She wants to know what it was like before she saw the moon. She wants to see what the moon sees before they meet in the dark. She wants to see the beauty of it, she wants to know if an ending could be beautiful too." Y/N said, she took a deep breath before she continued. "Sadly, she never gets to see that. But something changed... someone came along and changed everything. There was a knock somewhere, and it startled the girl. She was confused and scared of the new sounds. She crawled under her covers and tried to block the sound. But then, a loud thud was heard before strange sounds followed. And it scared the girl. She was about to give up to what she thought was a monster when she heard a sweet voice."

Y/N smiled a little. She looked at the sunset. "The voice said: stop covering your face, I wanna see you. The voice sounded like it came from an angel, so the girl slowly pulled down the covers, and she saw a beautiful girl with green eyes. It made her heart beat faster and it felt like she was meeting the moon in person. That comfort that the moon makes her feel... is the same feeling as this green-eyed girl made her feel."

Scarlett smiles, biting her bottom lip. However, tears were streaming down her face.

"When their eyes met, the green-eyed girl said: adorable. And that was the beginning of their adventure together. The green-eyed girl showed the girl that there was a way for her to get out of that chamber and see the world. It shocked the girl. She thought she'd grow old and die in that chamber without getting out. But the green-eyed girl showed her the way. From then on, the two girls did everything together. They went on an adventure, and the green-eyed girl showed the girl the beauty of the world." Y/N smiles. "And most importantly, the green-eyed girl showed the girl what the sunset looked like. And the girl was so happy to finally see her secret love—to finally see what it looked like before meeting the moon in the dark. And the girl loved it. She loved it so much that she thought that endings could be beautiful too. Although it kind of hurts because the sunset will be gone, she knows that that feeling will be gone as soon as she sees the moon—hugging her and telling her that endings have beautiful outcomes too. That some endings can be beautiful too."

Y/N looked at the love of her life and said, "That was the two girls' favorite thing to do; watch the ending and embrace the new beginning."

Scarlett nodded her head. She wiped her tears and kissed Y/N's cheek. "I love it, baby. That story will be remembered forever; it's inked in my heart and memory."

Y/N smiles, "Then I'm happy."

"I love you, Y/N." Scarlett whispers. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Scar." Y/N whispered back. She kissed her girlfriend's cheek before she faced the sunset again. "I love you, my green-eyed beauty. Thank you for everything. Thank you for the adventure." She added.

Scarlett didn't say anything, she just hugged Y/N closer to her. Her heart feels heavy.

Not even a minute, Y/N starts breathing heavily. And she gripped on Scarlett's arms tighter, silently telling her that she have to go. That she's about to let go.

"I-I'm here, my love." Scarlett said, her voice breaking, "I'm here. I love you so much, Y/N."

"I..." Y/N breathes, "Love you."

And with that, Y/N's arms dropped to her side and all her weight fell on Scarlett's body as her breathing stopped—the same time as the sun slowly sets.

Scarlett sobbed loudly. She scooped her girlfriend into her arms and hugged her tighter. She rocked them back and forth, crying and feeling her heart shatter into millions of pieces.

"I-I love you," Scarlett cried, "I love you!"

And the only sound she received was the crashing sounds of the waves, which was the same as what she was feeling. Every pain is crashing into her, knocking her down and taking the oxygen from her lungs. It's something that she's never felt in her entire life. This pain could never compare to anything she's ever felt before. It's as if someone has physically cut her open and taken out her heart, crashing it in front of her and cutting all the things that make her feel alive.

And Scarlett knows that it's the kind of pain that will never go away.
