Sunset

FEW HOURS LATER

"It's beautiful." Y/N whispered, smiling.

Scarlett looked at the sunset and nodded her head. She thought she can do this, but she just can't. She can't bare the thought of living her life without the love of her life, she cannot see the future without Y/N.

Y/N looked next to her to see Scarlett crying, she smiles weakly and wiped her girlfriend's tears. "I'm so sorry." She whispered.

"Hey, no, my love," Scarlett said, shaking her head. She kissed Y/N's head and smiled. "This is not your fault, you don't have to apologize. I'm just... I'm gonna miss you, baby. I'm gonna miss you with all of my heart, my love. I'll miss you every single day, and every second of my life and I will always remember you with every beating of my heart."

"I love you so much, Scarlett Johansson." Y/N whispered, smiling. "Thank you for being here with me and for joining me on this crazy and fun adventure. And thank you... for loving me." She said, already crying. She promised herself that she wouldn't cry in front of Scarlett to not hurt the actress even more, but she couldn't help it. Her heart is aching painfully, knowing that at any second she'll die.

Scarlett sobbed and kissed Y/N's palm. She doesn't want to let go, she wants to spend the rest of her life with Y/N. That's all she wants.

"I'm gonna miss you," Y/N said, looking between Scarlett's eyes. "I'm gonna miss your eyes, they're my happy place, my safe haven."

Scarlett wanted to tell Y/N not to go, to fight more. But she knows that won't be possible, so she held it in and just hold her girlfriend. "I love you so much, Y/N. I love you with all of me."

"I love you more, Scarlett." Y/N whispered.

Scarlett didn't say anything more and just pulled Y/N in a loving kiss. She poured all of her feelings into that kiss, using their sealed lips to tell Y/N how much she loves her—how much she longs for her.

Both of them didn't mind that they could taste each other's tears. This was their last kiss and all they wanted was to pour out their feelings for each other.

"I love you, Y/N." Scarlett whispered as they pulled away from the kiss. She hold Y/N's face and tilt her head a bit to look at her. "I love you so much, my baby."

"I love you more, my love." Y/N whispered back. "I want you to know that I will always love you, and that if there is another life, I will still love you."

Scarlett clenched her jaw, doing her best to control her emotions. "I will love you for the rest of my life, Y/N. It's you, it's always gonna be you. And I want you to know that I'm willing to do this all over again in a heartbeat, even though I already know the ending. I love you so much."

"Just promise me that you'll be happy," Y/N said, smiling. "Promise me that you won't close your heart. You deserve to be happy, my love. Promise me that you'll be happy, I understand if that won't happen right away, but eventually. Please, promise me, baby, that you'll be happy eventually."

Scarlett didn't say anything, but she nodded her head.

Y/N sighs and smiled. She peck Scarlett's lips three times while whispering I love you at each pecks. After that, she went to sit between her girlfriend's legs and leaned back against Scarlett's body.

Scarlett wiped her tears and wrapped her arms around Y/N's waist, hugging her and pulling her closer. She kissed Y/N's head and they both watch the sunset.

Just like that, nothing else matters. Just them, the sunset, and the sounds of waves hitting the shore.

Scarlett's heart kept aching painfully, and she couldn't stop crying. But she's not making any sound, she doesn't want to worry Y/N even more.

"It's really beautiful." Y/N whispered, watching the sunset and enjoying Scarlett's embrace. "I don't want anything else right now." She said.

"Me too, baby." Scarlett whispered, "Me too." She added and kissed Y/N's head.

Y/N just hummed and didn't say anything else. She looked calm but really, she's scared.

She's scared to let go. She's scared to take her last breath. She's scared of leaving. She's scared.

She's been preparing herself for this day, when she'll have to let go of everything. But she was only fooling herself when she thought that she's ready. Because she's not. She's fucking scared and helpless.

But when she looked down at the arms that were wrapped around her body, a tattoo caught her attention. She traced the tattoos, her initials and carpe diem. It made her smile and her heart calm down.

"Do you wanna hear a story?" Y/N asked, still tracing Scarlett's tattoos.

"Of course, baby." Scarlett said, smiling.
