FEW HOURS LATER

"How do you expect me to grow if you won't let me blow?" Rachel said, holding the book and looking at Ross.

Y/N laughed loudly, "That's so dirty, though!"

Scarlett laugh, nodding her head.

After Scarlett shaved Y/N's head and hers, the couple cooked dinner together and binge watched FRIENDS. There's no need to be stuck in the corner and be upset, Y/N feels fine now because of Scarlett's reassurance. She's just so thankful that Scarlett's there by her side.

They were suddenly interrupted when Y/N's phone rang. Scarlett looked at it and saw that Y/N's doctor was calling.

"Baby, it's your doctor." Scarlett said and grabbed Y/N's phone from the coffee table. "Maybe your results came back."

"Oh?" Y/N raised an eyebrow, then she paused the show. "Answer it, just put it on speaker."

Scarlett nodded her head and did what Y/N told her to do.

"Hello, Ms. L/N?" Dr. Levine spoke as soon as they answered the call.

"Yes, doc. It's me." Y/N said.

"Your results came back." Dr. Levine said. "And I'm really sorry to tell you this, but the chemo is still not working."

Y/N's heart broke. She knew it.

Scarlett frowned. "Is there anything else we can do? There must be something. There's no way that Y/N will give up." She couldn't help but to speak up.

"I'm so sorry but it's too late," Dr. Levine said with sympathy in her voice.

"What do you mean it's too late? It's never too late." Scarlett said, shaking her head.

"I'm so sorry, but Ms. L/N's cancer is now stage four." Dr. Levine said.

"W-What..." Scarlett stuttered.

Y/N clenched her jaw and took a deep breath, "How long?" She asked.

Scarlett looked at Y/N with wide eyes.

"Doc, how long do I have?" Y/N asked again.

There was a deep sigh from Dr. Levine before she spoke. "Based on the results, you only have a month or two to live. I'm sorry."

Y/N stopped breathing for a second, her tears starts falling and it feels like she's suffocating.

Scarlett didn't know what to say. Her heart shattered.

Y/N stood up and run away.

Scarlett gulped, she blinked and wiped her tears. She mumbled her bye to Dr. Levine and ended the call, she placed down Y/N's phone before running after her girlfriend.

Scarlett found Y/N in the bed, crying and mumbling something that she can't hear or understand. This broke her heart even more.

Y/N continued crying as Scarlett hugged her, kissing her head repeatedly.

"I-I'm gonna die," Y/N sobbed. "I'm gonna die and there's n-nothing that we can do!"

Scarlett stayed quiet, she just held her girlfriend in her arms.

"Y-You should leave," Y/N said, pushing Scarlett away from her. "L-Let's end this right now and you should leave and live your life. I-I can't... I don't wanna—"

"Stop that." Scarlett said sternly. She easily lifted Y/N and sat her down on her lap. She held her face and made her girlfriend look at her. "Stop it. I am not leaving you. We're not gonna end our relationship. I'm gonna stay with you."

Y/N shook her head, "Y-You should leave."

"No." Scarlett said, shaking her head. "We're not gonna give up, okay, baby? Look, I think we should continue with the chemo while we find another way to treat your cancer. That—"

"Scarlett, just fucking stop!" Y/N shouted in frustration and stress. She immediately got off of Scarlett's lap and stood up. "I'm fucking done with chemo! If I have little time, there's no fucking way that I'll spend it with that. I won't fucking risk losing my energy! I'm still strong right now, but if I continue with the chemo knowing that it wouldn't fucking work anyway, then I'll just lose more and more days, and there's no way in hell that I'll spend my remaining days in the hospital while connected to fucking machines and for IV to bruise my skin!"

Scarlett stood up from the bed and approached her girlfriend. "I'm so sorry, baby. You're right, I'm sorry." She said and hugged Y/N.

Y/N sobbed, gripping Scarlett's shirt. "I'm sorry, I-I just don't want to lie in bed while counting my days." She said.

"I know," Scarlett said. "I'm sorry. I was being selfish and blind. You're right, baby. We'll stop the chemo and just... live in the present. Yeah? Just us."

Y/N didn't say anything and just buried her face into Scarlett's neck, crying in pain.

Scarlett pulled away from the hug and she cupped Y/N's cheeks, and as soon as her eyes met Y/N's eyes, she broke down. She started crying. "I-I don't want you to go... but I'm here and I promise that I'll never leave your side. I'm still gonna be your strength, and I promise that I'll do anything in my power to make you happy. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Y/N just whimpered and cried. She hugged Scarlett tight, she's scared to let go. But her reality reminded her that sooner or later, she'll have to let go. She'll have to let everything go.
