After that day, Jackie had tried to put Chase out of her mind. Keyword on "try."
It was absolute torture for her, every minute her mind would go back to Chase.
She kept on thinking about the sound of his voice in her ear, the smell of his floral and sweet scent, and his molten amber eyes.
And there were many other thoughts that had plagued her mind.
Ugh! She hates him! Curse him and his good looks and his suave talking!
Currently, she was tossing and turning restlessly in her bed as the night carried on.
Turning on her back for the umpteenth time, Jackie groaned as she sat up.
"What's wrong with me?" She asked herself, she thought long and hard about it before a thought came to mind.
"I couldn't be..." Cutting herself off, she shakes her head, refusing to accept it.
"No, way. I can't be, this is probably because of him trying to mess with my head."
And so, for the next few days, Jackie tried to immerse herself into her training to keep her mind off the Dragon Lord.
However, the more days that went by, the more agitated that Jackie had become. And it was starting to become noticeable to the others.
Currently, they were having breakfast and Jackie, who despite already drinking her coffee was in a very sour mood.
Everyone was constantly giving each other side eye looks, wondering on what's wrong with her.
"So, is everything ok Jackie?" Kimiko asked, the only one being brave enough to ask.
"I'm fine, why wouldn't I be fine?" Jackie asked, a bit of bite in her tone.
Kimiko looks at her apprehensively. "Well, you just seem..." She trails off as she moves her wrist in a circle, mulling over an appropriate word.
Without thinking, Rai blurted out a response. "Crabbier than a crustacean."
Narrowing her eyes, Kimiko elbows him. "Don't aggravate her!" She hissed.
She looks back at Jackie. "What Rai means; you've been acting very irritable lately."
Jackie looks down, obviously not wanting to tell them about Chase.
"I'm fine, I'm just irritated that I have not been able to perfect this new spell. I've been practicing for a month now." She lied.
Chugging the rest of her tea down, Jackie sighed as she gets up and takes her leave.
"I guess that makes sense." Clay said, believing the lie as did everyone else, well almost everyone.
The only person that did not believe it was Jermaine, who was looking at the doorway with suspicion.
Now in the training grounds, Jackie was taking out her frustrations out on a punching bag.
Why? Why is it that she can't seem to get him out of her mind?
She has to get herself together, she cannot fall for his suave words or his beautiful—
Realizing what she was thinking, Jackie's face burned with both embarrassment and rage.
Growling furiously, Jackie pulled her fist back and punched the bag with so much force that the chain broke as the bag was sent flying.
Marching off with a huff, she stomps past everyone else, who parted like the red sea as she passed.
Once she was alone and out of hearing range, she began muttering to herself.
