Cold winds swept through the barren plains as Ruri stood before a towering fortress of obsidian stone. The structure rose like a shadow that reached into the sky, its upper spires flickering with crimson light.

"I can't believe I'm back here again..." Ruri whispered, her voice trembling between determination and unease. Her reflection wavered in the smooth black surface of the tower's gates. Behind her, Aera, Shun, Jean, and Lisa stepped closer, their eyes drawn to the ominous structure.

"So this is where you were staying when you were kidnapped by Academia?" Jean asked quietly, studying the intricate carvings that covered the tower's entrance.

Before anyone could respond, a firm voice echoed from ahead. "So... you've come back to this place."

The group turned sharply. Standing at the tower's base was a tall woman with long, silver hair and sharp, hawk-like eyes. Her Duel Disk glimmered faintly under the blood-red light of dusk.

Ruri froze, a flicker of recognition flashing through her mind. "You..."

The woman smiled faintly, folding her arms. "My name is Diana, guardian of the Western Tower. Since you've returned, I assume the Professor will be pleased to know his lost subject has found her way home."

"If you're planning to take my daughter again, think twice!" Aera snapped, stepping protectively in front of Ruri.

Shun's glare burned like steel. "Mom's right. Ruri isn't going anywhere with Academia!"

But Ruri slowly shook her head. Her eyes no longer carried the same fear they once did—they burned with resolve. "No, Mom... Brother. I have to do this. I'm not the same weak girl as before." She looked straight at Diana, her voice steady. "I'll beat you this time."

The wind picked up as Ruri activated her Duel Disk. Light erupted beneath their feet as the Field Magic: Crossover flared to life, surrounding them in a shifting arena of fractured dimensions—half the familiar landscapes of Heartland, half the cold mechanical halls of Academia.

Diana smirked, her Duel Disk snapping open with a pulse of blue energy. "Oh? You're challenging me again? You'll never surpass me, child."

Their gazes locked, pure defiance sparking between them. Both Duel Disks lit up with synchronized brilliance."Duel!" (Ruri:4000)(Diana:4000)

"I'll go first," Diana declared, her Duel Disk flaring with a pale lunar glow. "From my hand, I activate the Magic Card: Fusion! I fuse Guardian Baou and Moon Soldier Lady in my hand!"

The holographic silhouettes of two warriors appeared—one cloaked in shadow, the other bathed in moonlight. The two forms collided, merging in a spiral of radiant silver energy.

"When the shining moonlight hits the Flamberge, the two warriors become one! Fusion Summon! Descend—Moon Protector!"

A beam of light descended from the sky as a gleaming knight cloaked in white armor appeared, wielding a crescent-shaped shield that shimmered like the moon's surface. (ATK:2100/DEF:2400/Level 7)

"Now, Moon Protector's effect activates!" Diana announced, her voice firm. "I Special Summon a Protector's Shield Token! (ATK:0/DEF:0/Level 1) As long as I control this Token, you can't attack Moon Protector!"

The token materialized beside the knight—a glowing barrier of light shaped like a spectral shield.

"I set one card face-down and end my turn," Diana concluded, her eyes narrowing confidently.
