Chapter 13 Show of Nature

Engines roared through the heavy jungle mist as four D-Wheels and a single D-Board cut across the clearing, scattering soil and leaves like shrapnel. The sound broke the silence of despair. Mark's eyes widened the moment he recognized the silhouettes. "That's—!" he gasped.

"Risu! Jack! Crow!" Rin cried out, her voice trembling with relief.

"Rua! Wilson!" Ruka followed, clasping her hands to her chest.

The vehicles landed in a synchronized motion, their wheels scraping to a halt. The tremor forced the Battle Beast to leap back, abandoning his attempt to card Gongenzaka. Risu's group had arrived. Jack immediately charged forward, slamming his Duel Disk into the field. (Jack:4000-2000)

"Sorry for letting you wait," Risu said as his boots hit the ground. The line was short but heavy with meaning.

"Sorry for letting you wait?" Sanders' voice echoed through the intercoms. "Are you Lancers as well?"

"We can't deny being their comrades," Jack replied sharply, turning toward Gongenzaka. His tone softened slightly. "Leave this to me and Yugo. Get back."

"S-sure," Gongenzaka said, steadying himself as Sawatari helped him stand.

"You were holding out like that because you knew Risu's group was coming?" Sawatari asked, confusion written on his face.

"Impossible. I didn't know," Gongenzaka answered with a faint smile. "But I believed something might happen under pressure. When miracles come, you hold on to them."

Risu folded his arms, his sharp gaze darting across the group. "But what are you guys doing here? I thought you were supposed to go to other places."

"We were captured," Rin explained. "We fell into a trap. That's why we're here."

"Wait, where is Crow?" Kiryu asked, scanning the field.

"Crow..." Yugo's voice faltered, his eyes shadowed. Sawatari reached into his jacket and revealed three Duel Cards—Tsukikage, Crow, and Michael—their surfaces gleaming faintly under the sun.

"Crow... Michael... they tried to save me..." Sawatari said quietly, his voice trembling.

Ruka's lips quivered as she knelt beside the cards. "We're sorry. We should've been stronger..." she whispered, tears slipping down her face.

The silence broke when Jack's voice thundered through the field, filled with raw anger. "Did you do this to Crow!?"

The Battle Beast met his fury with nothing but a feral grin. "What if I did?"

Rage flickered in Jack's eyes, igniting into a burning glare. "Unforgivable... For Team Satisfaction, and for the children in the orphanage who sent us off..." He clenched his Duel Disk, its light pulsing like fire. "I will crush you!"

"Interesting. You must have a great deal of self-confidence to talk that big," Sanders said from the command room, his arms folded as his eyes gleamed with cruel amusement. "Now show me—how much you can compete with Academia's strongest, the Battle Beast I personally trained!"

"It's not just him!" Risu shouted back, standing beside Jack and Yugo with fire in his eyes. "We are Team Satisfaction! We'll show you how us Commons struggle our way to the top!"
