If friendship is a subject, I’m sure I would get the lowest grade on it. If there’s one thing I can’t master, then it’s socializing with people. Mas sanay ako na ako ang nilalapitan. The grain itself comes near to the chicken and not the other way around.

When I was on preschool, I’m worried I might have no friends or someone who I can talk to. But I was surprised when children were the ones who approached me first, and that’s the story how I gained friends.

The same happened when I was an elementary student. Sila ang lumapit sa akin para makipagkaibigan at ako ang bahala kung sino ang gusto kong kakaibiganin. Para akong binigyan ng food menu at ako nang bahalang pumili ng kakainin ko.

I also have a very short temper. Whenever I’m in an argument with my friends—even if I was the one initiated it—they apologize to me first. Even if it’s my fault, they claimed it as theirs. Whenever they do me a favor, ako rin ang pinapasalamatan nila. Sila ang gumagawa ng bagay na dapat ako ang gumagawa. Sila ang nag-a-adjust sa halip na ako.

It's quite cool for me at first. But when I was on highschool, nagkagusto ako sa isang babae. I wanted to ask her out but I don't know how to. And I was so, so stupid to wait for her to do the first move.

I never thought it’s impossible, anyway. I have the magnet’s ability to attract people. I can attract her without exerting any effort. However, after a couple of months, nalaman ko na lang na may boyfriend na siya.

“Uncle?”

I looked at my nephew who stopped from playing his toy cars. “Yes, Axel?”

“When will Mommy go home?”

Tumingin ako sa wristwatch ko. “Within an hour. Why? Are you excited?”

Ngayon kasi ang uwi ng older sister ko from States. Our parents let her study there as she wished and also to help her overcome the traumatic experience she had here.

Axel nodded. “Of course, Uncle. I really miss her sooo much!”

“She missed you, too.”

He smiled and continue playing with his toys. Naalala ko tuloy iyong nangyari kanina.

I always fetch my nephew from his school after classes.

Luckily, according to Axel, he was found by an angel—a beautiful angel who always creases her forehead when looking at people.

Palaging libro ang hawak o laptop o cellphone niya. Ayaw niya rin nakikipag-eye contact. If she does, she’ll make you feel you had committed all the sins in the world.
