"Hm.. You have a way with the sword, I'll grant you that. So you think you can kill me before the flames on that table strike twelve? You seem to have quite the ego." Avdol said and stepped closer to the silver haired frenchman, "What was your name again?" Avdol asked. "Polnareff, Jean Pierre Polnareff." Polnareff said confidently.
"Hmph." Avdol grunted, "Merci beaucoup, however.." Avdol said pointing the the fire clock, the clock burst into more flames, sending it flying across the room and banging into the wall, "Monsieur Polnareff, you would be mistaken if you assume my flames burn upward or with the wind. I can control the fire at will, hence the name "Magicians Red.".
"Hm.. I should have expected as much from Magicians Red, the wielder of fire. And yet you speak of ego? This swordsmanship of mine... is this mere ego?!" Polnareff threw the coins up into the air and had his stand pierce all of them with his sword. "In the moment they lined up, he stabbed through all five coins with a single strike!" Joesph exclaimed.
"No. Look closer." Jotaro said and pointed at the flaming sword. "He's cut a flame for each coin." (Y/N) said and stared at the sword in awe. Jotaro nodded and looked over to Avdol to observe his next move. "This should be impossible!" (Y/N) thought, "Avdol could fully control his flames, how was this guy using them?"
"So you comprehend the significance of my moves. I am no egoist. My stand can slice apart flames! I can rip apart the atmosphere itself, creating gaps between the layers of gases. Which means your flames are powerless before my Silver Chariot." Polnareff said, then he withdrew Silver Chariot sending coins clattering to the floor.
(Y/N) looked at Avdol, with a concerned look. Then she glanced up at Jotaro, he just had his usual look, but his eyebrows were a tiny bit furrowed. (Y/N) had learned to spot the tiny differences in his facial expressions to tell what he was thinking, he looked concerned as well.
(Y/N) didn't notice where Polnareff was going until she looked back to the door. Polnareff was just walking out the door. "Oi Bastard, where the fuck do you think you're going?" (Y/N) asked. She didn't want him to escape and cause more problems for them later. The rest of the crusaders turned to where she was looking.
"When did he..." Avdol said shocked. No one noticed the man moving away. "My Stand... The Chariot is the card of victory and conquest. I could dispose of you in this modest room, but it wouldn't be fair. Isn't your flame ability better suited to wide open spaces, Avdol? To destroy you at your best is the only victory worthy of my stand." Polnareff said. "All of you, outside!" Polnareff ordered.
(Y/N) and the rest of the crusaders followed Polnareff outside to a huge path with statues and sculptures everywhere. The place was beautiful and the sculptures were very vibrant, making the whole garden bright and colorful.
"What is this place?" Joesph asked, looking around at the sculptures nervously. "Tiger Balm Garden." Kakyoin said as if he was a tour guide, "A mysterious tableau located on the hillside of Hong Kong's Tai Hang Road. It's unique aesthetic and sense of style make it one of Hong Kong's most unusual sites." "Huh interesting." (Y/N) said observing the unique sculptures. Jotaro just observed silently, but he looked like he enjoyed walking around the garden.
When they got to the top of the steps, there was a big open area that was shaped like a circle. It was probably just a space for people to walk around and observe the art, but it was about to become a battlefield. "Allow me to make a prediction..." Polnareff said dramatically, "First Avdol, you shall perish at the hand of your own stand."
"Avdol..." Jotaro said seriously and turned to Avdol. "Jotaro, I won't need your assistance." Avdol said. (Y/N) looked at Avdol, "But Avdol, won't it be easier if we help?" (Y/N) asked, pulling out her stand. "No. There is no need. In an expansive arena such as this I can manipulate my stand easily. Please withdraw your stand (Y/N)." Avdol said.
(Y/N) nodded and withdrew Serene Blue. She knew that Avdol could do it himself, but she still thought it would be easier if they fought together. (Y/N) sighed and leaned against the base of a sculpture. "Let the games begin." she muttered and rolled her eyes. Jotaro heard this and snickered. They both were tired of people being stubborn and not doing things their way. He leaned against the statue with (Y/N) and prepared to watch the battle.
"MAGICIANS RED!" Avdol yelled and his stand came flying out dramatically, sending flames scattering across the battlefield. Polnareff sent Silver Chariot towards Avdol, "Come on!" he yelled, his stand swinging its sword at Magicians Red. Magicians Red dodged all the attacks gracefully but Silver Chariots attacks were getting faster and faster.
It's speed was impressive, nothing that (Y/N) thought Avdol couldn't handle though. Magicians Red sent fireballs flying towards Silver Chariot, but the stand just swatted them away with it's sword and sent them flying towards one of the sculptures.
The sculpture crumbled away and revealed a whole new sculpture of Magicians Red. "That bastard! He's mocking us!" Joesph exclaimed angrily pointing at the new sculpture. "Ugh, what a showoff." (Y/N) complained, Jotaro nodded his head in agreement. The feat was impressive but the crusaders didn't want to admit it.
"Not bad." Polnareff said with a chuckle, admiring his own work. Avdol grunted and Magicians Red's flames started growing larger and getting brighter. "I see. At last he reveals his true power." Polnareff said.
"We gotta hide! We'll get torched if Avdol uses that move!" Joesph said and started running to find shelter. "That? What does that mean?" Jotaro asked. "Just run!" (Y/N) said, grabbing Jotaro's wrist and running towards shelter. Surprisingly he didn't yell at (Y/N) for grabbing him, he just let himself get dragged along. Kakyoin followed them behind one of the larger statues and everyone peeked their heads out to see what Avdol was going to do.
"Crossfire Hurricane!" Avdol yelled. Magicians Red sent out a huge blast of fire that was shaped like some sort of Egyptian symbol. (Y/N) could feel the heat from where she was, it felt like holding your hand close to the fire for warmth when you were camping x100.
"Is that all you got?!" Polnareff asked, deflecting the fire and sending it flying back towards Avdol like a deadly game of volleyball. Avdol got engulfed in his own flames and started screaming. "Avdol!" Joesph yelled worriedly.
(Y/N) stepped forward and began to run towards Avdol, but Jotaro grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. "Jotaro! Let me go! I can help him!" (Y/N) yelled and tried wriggling out of his grasp. "No. You'll get hurt. This is Avdol's battle. He asked us not to interfere." Jotaro said and pulled her closer. (Y/N) stopped struggling.
He was right, but she couldn't just let Avdol die. She extended her stand out and sprayed water all over the flames. The fire slowly went out and when it was gone, Avdol fainted. "N-no..." (Y/N) stuttered, it was too late. She was too late. Jotaro's face remained emotionless as he pulled her closer to his chest. "Damn it!" she yelled, pounding her fist against his chest.
Polnareff let out a hearty laugh, "Just as I predicted" He said. Avdol's body suddenly moved, Magicians Red came flying out toward Polnareff. Avdol wasn't giving up yet.
(Y/N) turned back toward the battle, "It wasn't too late! He's not dead!" she thought. Avdol still had some fight in him.
"Yare Yare Yare Yare Yare Yare Yare da! One last pitiful attack. How useless!" Polnareff said, Silver Chariot ready to deflect the next attack. Magicians Red flew towards Polnareff, Silver Chariot just sliced right through him, but the flames didn't dissipate and Avdol didn't die. Silver Chariot burst into flames, "What?!" Polnareff exclaimed. "That's not his stand! It's the statue!" Joesph yelled. "It seems the flames veiled your vision. What you sliced apart was the statue Silver Chariot carved himself!" Avdol said dramatically.
