She hadn't seen Levi's bedroom before, and this build up made her nervous. What am I walking into?
Peering around the corner, her mouth dropped at the sight. Lights off. Serval candles burning around the room. A queen-sized bed with black covers pulled back. Takeout containers sat on the bed. A tv on the wall opposite the bed showed the Netflix homepage.
Her heart leaped. She stood in the doorway, looking around at everything.
Levi stood at the end of the bed. Watching her. "You like?"
"Mm hm." She nodded. Grinned.
"Well, come on in before the food gets cold." He sat down on the bed, picking up one of containers and a fork beside it.
She joined him. Sat on the other side and opened the cardboard box. The delicious smell of Thai food wafted out, and she didn't hesitate to dig her fork in.
"Do you want to pick the movie?" Levi asked.
Renna nodded, unable to answer with a full mouth. Levi handed her the remote and she flicked through until she found a movie she thought they both could enjoy. Enola Holmes.
They sat back, watched the movie, and enjoyed their food. Levi finished his first and placed the container and the fork on his beside table to his side.
Renna ate slower. Finished approximately ten minutes after Levi. He took her container and fork, and placed it next to his box.
There remained a decent gap between them on the bed. One wide enough to fit a third person. Levi reached across it and took Renna's hand in his. He tugged at it, encouraged her across to him. She rested her head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around her.
With a squeeze, he said, "Mmm...you're so warm."
She snuggled in closer. Relaxed.
His arm snuck closer to her chest, and her relaxation dissipated. "What happens if I do this?"
"Umm..." Her body stiffened.
"Just a little," he said, creeping towards her breast. "I promise I won't go too far."
No. Please not again.
She began to pull away from his hand.
He stopped and shifted, pulling away, forcing Renna to lift her head off his chest. "Be honest." He leaned over to look her in the eye. "Do you still like me?"
"Of course." She sat up and turned to face him.
"You don't act like it."
"What do you mean?"
He directed his gaze to the movie playing on the tv as he spoke. "You don't want me to touch you. You act like you don't want to be near me. And you don't even want to stay the night."
"No. I do like you." She sat up on her knees, and tried to catch his stare to make him see the truth. "I'm staying the night tonight. If you want."
He looked at her. "Really?"
She nodded.
"Tonight?" His eyes flicked back and forth between hers, and squinted. "You're only saying that because I said you won't stay."
