She stared up at him to say, 'I don't want to talk about it,' but the look in his eyes changed her mind. Not pity. Or sadness. It might be concern or hurt. So, instead, she answered, with a not-so-honest answer. "Not that bad."

His head flopped to the side. "But what exactly does that mean?"

"It means..." Just say it. Just tell him the truth. It'll be okay. She closed her eyes so she didn't have to look him in the eye as she told him. "It means...he...he touched me. And kissed me...all over. But nothing much more than that."

"How is that 'not that bad'?"

Opening her eyes, she shrugged. "It could have been worse."

"That doesn't mean it's not bad. That's bad, Renna." He looked away and his jaw tensed. "I wish you would have said something that night. I would have beaten him to a pulp before he could wake up."

"I don't want that."

His eyes darkened with anger as he looked back at her. "I certainly want it. He deserves it. After forcing you to—"

"I don't want to talk about it." She cut him off as panic bubbled up in her chest. I don't want to relive it. And I don't need to be reminded of what happened.

"Okay," he said, his eyes softening. "Can I ask one more question though? But you have to be completely honest with me."

She nodded.

"Are you okay?"

She took a deep breath. Give him the truth, she told herself. "I'm dealing with it."

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

She shook her head.

"Have you had any more nightmares?"

With a nod, she answered, "Yeah." Almost every night.

He fell quiet.

Should I say more? Is it a good idea? To open up. I should just go for it. Trust him. She took a big leap and opened up.

"Sometimes...I can still feel him." She stared up at the ceiling, and he stayed quiet. "It takes me back there. To those times. Like it's still happening." As shivers ran over her skin, she wrapped her arms over her chest and squeezed her upper arms with her hands.

In a flash, the room around her switched and she stared up at Levi's ceiling.

"His hands on me." She felt them. Rubbing, squeezing, and gripping. From her legs to her breasts. "And his mouth. And...he..." He sucked on her neck. Kissed. Licked. Saliva all over her.

Her back pressed into the mattress. The bed springs pushed against her spine. His body on top. The entirety of him held her down. Trapped her. Pinned from her hips to her shoulders.

She couldn't breathe. The pressure—his weight—on her chest forced air out. Fear crushed her heart like a hand wringing out a hand towel. Twisted. Bled it dry.

"Hey."

A gentle touch on her hand made her jump, but tore her from her vivid memory and back into her bedroom. She blinked, still staring at her ceiling, realising the welcomed change back to the more familiar view.
