"CAN you see yourself there?" Lydia spoke to Malia once the were coyote was inside the machine, "Are you in the library now?"

"I'm here." Malia nodded, eyes shut, "I'm in the library."

"Can you see the books?"

"I see them."

"Concentrate on them." said Lydia, guiding her through, "The books on the shelves are your memories— everything that's ever happened to you. Find the shelf that has all your memories of Aspen. Try to find a memory where you made some kind of connection with her."

Malia walked through the endless amount of bookshelves of the library she'd envisioned in her mind, and picked up the closest book to her.

The next thing she knew, she wasn't in a library anymore— but the outside courtyard of Eichen House. She saw herself, dressed in grey sweats and a dark grey long sleeved shirt. She was minding her business when another brunette walked up to her.

The other girl tapped Malia on the shoulder, and the were coyote turned around with furrowed brows and a slightly confused frown, as to why she was being approached by this girl she'd never seen before.

"Hi," the other girl tried to smile politely, "I'm not sure if you know me, I'm Aspen—I'm a friend of Scott and Stiles— and the people who saved you?"

Malia's eyes narrowed as the girl went on, as she didn't particularly see what they did as 'saving' her.

"They told me about you, about what happened to you." Aspen said, her voice very delicate when approaching the topic. "I just wanted to tell you... I know what it's like to feel trapped— in a body that you don't feel like is your own."

"Okay..." Malia's brows furrowed with judgement and slight annoyance.

"A similar thing happened to me, and I just—I wanted to tell you if you ever need someone to talk to, or just to listen—I'm here."

"I don't need your pity." Malia said with a shrug, "Nor do I want it."

"I didn't mean to upset you—" Aspen immediately shook her head in apology.

"Just, leave me alone." Malia cut her off. "I'm not looking for any friends in here."

"Malia, please—"

"Did you find something?" Malia heard Lydia's voice from out in the real world.

Malia flipped a page in the book she'd picked up, diving into another memory.

It was the same memory, outside of Eichen House, the two girls talking. But this time, Malia threw a punch to the side of Aspen's jaw, as she had the shorter brunette pinned down to the floor.
