"I'M NOT GETTING ANYTHING." Lydia announced to Scott, Aspen and Stiles, as they stood gathered in a quiet parking lot hours later that night. It must've been at least three in the morning by now, it was a long night.

Just then, the four of them heard a howl of a coyote, turning in it's direction to find Malia shifting back into her human form, Lydia wasted wasted no time to greet her with a bundle of clothing to cover herself up with.

"I don't think they're dead." Lydia said, referring to the parents of a boy named Alex who had been brought into the sheriff station earlier that night.

Malia seemed skeptical. "They're dead." she said, convinced. "Probably torn apart. The only thing I don't get is why there's no blood."

"They're not dead." Lydia shot back, "If they were dead, I'd sense it."

"If they were alive, I'd smell it."

"Yeah, I'm not getting anything either." Scott added.

"Neither am I." Aspen jumped into the conversation, "No blood, no rotting corpses, no chemo-signals, nothing."

"Scott, what are you talkin' about?" Stiles turned to the True Alpha, "You were in his head for four minutes! I timed it."

"Well, it's not an exact science..." Scott shrugged, "And he's a kid. Maybe he's too freaked out to remember?"

"Why does it matter if they're dead?" Malia asked, missing the point of this whole venture.

"Dead is dead, okay?" said Stiles, "If it's just a robbery, we can't help them. And, if it's something supernatural, my dad can't help them."

"He sounds like he wants it to be supernatural, doesn't he?" Aspen pointed an accusing finger at him, looking at all the others with raised brows.

"Yeah," Lydia nodded in agreement, "He does."

"It's been, like, three months since anything's happened..." Stiles said defensively, making his girlfriend playfully roll her eyes.

"We've been over this—" Aspen said to him, "What is so bad about having three months of peace? Why can't we just wish for it to continue?"

"You can't tell me that you think this is just some series of impossible coincidences?" Stiles said with raised, accusing brows at his girlfriend.

"It wouldn't be so bad." Aspen shot back with a shrug and a slight pout. "I'd kinda like to make it out of senior year alive..."

Moments later, Malia and Lydia had driven away, leaving the trio alone. Stiles went to sit in the drivers seat of the car that belonged to Alex's parents, staring at the smashed windshield.
