024. FROM CALIFORNIA, TO VIRGINIA, TO BOSTONso its been brought to my attention my knowledge of american states in the last chapter was pretty shabby, I've gone back and edited it—stiles' FBI programme is in virginia, I thought it was Washington state, oops! and aspen is going to boston, not new york. my bad guys 🫢
THE ROAD TRIP TOOK NEARLY FOUR DAYS, for Aspen to drive Stiles out to DC for his pre-FBI college. They took turns driving when she got too tired, but she did most of the driving. At nights, they'd crash in cheap motels along the way. They ate enough fast food to last them a life times, and there were a lot of stops in coffee drive-thrus.But when they finally got there, Stiles couldn't be any more ecstatic. He got out of Aspen's spanking new dark red Toyota, as she got out of the drivers seat, and they both walked around to the boot to unload stiles' suitcases. Aspen was dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a maroon sweater, and Stiles was repping one of his signature flannels.
Aspen's stuff was also in the back of the car, as she was planning on taking the car to Harvard after all, seeing as an extra eleven hours of driving beat another road trip across the continent by herself, and an expensive plane ticket. They'd said their goodbyes to the rest of their friends, and now their futures were about to truly begin.
"This place looks awesome," Aspen said as she looked around, taking in the place that her boyfriend would spend the next three years living.
"I know, right?" Stiles said with a sigh, unloading his suitcase, his backpack on his back. "We should place a wager on how many times I'm gonna get lost on campus."
Aspen laughed, helping him get all of his things out of her car before she slammed the boot shut, and the two of them stood in the carpark, staring ahead at the intimidatingly huge building.
"FBI academy, huh?" Aspen said with a tone of pride and excitement for him, "Thats— that's really something..."
"Says the Harvard student." Stiles replied, equally as proud and excited for her accomplishments too.
The couple smiled at each other, and then headed on into the building. They found the receptionist who politely gave them directions to Stiles' accommodation building, handing him his keys and a few pamphlets. From that point to getting to Stiles' hall of residence was a bit of a blur, and the next thing they knew, Aspen and Stiles were standing in the middle of a communal kitchen he'd be sharing with a few other roommates.
"Ooh—" Aspen said chipperly, pointing to one of the appliances, "They have a toastie machine!"
Stiles smiled as his girlfriend walked over to the counter, inspecting all the things they had lying around. And then suddenly, the two spun around in the direction of the door as they heard somebody coming in the room.
