ASPEN was filled with excitement as she and her brother walked through her residence hall with her dorm key in her hand. Ace had helped her carry her suitcase and all her bags up the flights of stairs, as she was more focussed on the directions that she was given on a pamphlet.
"I think this is it," Aspen announced as they got to a door with the number 24 in a gold metal. She smiled and laughed a little at the number, total coincidence.
"Well, the door isn't going to open itself." Ace joked, encouraging her inside.
Aspen held out her key to the keyhole, turned it, twisted the doorknob, and took in a deep breath as she opened the door to the place she'd be living for the next few years of her life.
The two of them walked into a living room, it was small, but cozy. This was only an accommodation for two people, her and her roommate she was yet to meet. There were two doors fairly close together, to which she assumed were the bedrooms, and another one on the other side of the room, hopefully a bathroom, she thought.
"Not too shabby, right?" Ace said as he walked over to the couch to set some of her bags down.
"Yeah, it's nice." Aspen agreed, taking a walk around the room, looking around. She set down her handbag on a small coffee table, and headed over to one of the two doors.
She went for the one on the right, opening the door, but then her eyes widened as she saw a girl lying down on a single bed, who looked equally as surprised to have company.
She had straight brown hair, green eyes, and an even friendlier smile than Stiles' roommate, Miles. Aspen let out an awkward laugh, feeling sorry for barging into her room with no warning— she didn't know anyone was here.
"Oh my God—" Aspen immediately started to apologise, "I'm sorry for barging in, I didn't think—"
"Oh please," the girl waved it off as she jumped up from her bed to greet her, "I've been looking forward to meeting you. I only just got here a couple days ago, didn't know when I'd be expecting company."
Aspen let out a huge sigh of relief as the girl gave her a welcoming smile.
"I'm Josephine, but I kind of just go by Jo." she introduced herself, "You're Aspen, right?"
